He’s a kid from North Carolina being recruited by Duke and North Carolina. Total waste of time here .
Yeah, Pope actually “recruited” the Boozers as well… Dude has an innate fascination for wasting time and money apparently. Oh well, we’ll have to add this one to the ever growing consecutive strike out list that’s currently in the low 30’s as of this post.

Kinda like a kid Kansas trying to get a kid from Kentucky currently being recruited by Kentucky?
We’re not seriously comparing KU, Duke, and UNC’s recruiting to Pope’s, are we? Because we can, but it’s down right embarrassing ✅

He did transfer to a prep school in Orlando already so maybe the state appeal isn't as strong, similar to Jasper or Kinney or Stokes.

Tell that to Bill Self regarding Tay Kinney and ul vs. UK.

Edit: just saw your response to a similar retort. Ignore me. Lol

John Wall committed to CCC while he was still coach at Memphis.
Not entirely factually correct. Though had CCC stayed at Memphis, Wall was ready to commit to Memphis but Wall never formally or verbally committed to Memphis.

Wall only made one commitment, and it was to UK on May 19, 2009 after CCC had taken the UK job. Wall even said he had visited UK and loved everything about it (when BCG was still the coach) but was not coming to play for BCG and wanted to play for CCC without even visiting Memphis. Had we not hired Cal, we wouldn't have gotten Wall sure, but he never formally announced he was going to Memphis or signed anything with Memphis.

I do believe it was Cal that was mainly recruiting the Boozers.

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Sincerely,

Wayne Gretzky
That’s a cute sayin. Not very practical in a LOT of situations. I spend every dollar I have on the lottery. Cause, “don’t want to miss my shot “.

I cannot EVER remember us getting a kid that Duke recruited hard and really wanted. Even Pitino couldn't pull them from Duke ... back that far.

I cannot remember a kid we actually went after full bore from that state and from early on, much less anyone really interested in either Duke or UNoCollege. Didn't even recruit Tyler Hansbrough. You can tell who's going to pick Duke by looking at em. Haven't been wrong once yet, without bothering to follow Duke recruiting at all.

You 100% don't get the one you don't go after. Not even going all out tells everyone you aren't THE program. So saying it's a waste of time is really really weak

What's wild is this left a scholarship open for Duke to get Marvin Bagley in the summer. So oddly, this helped Duke. Thank god Bagley sucked on defense.

Knox I think came to UK simply because Duke filled up. He took the opportunity for touches at UK.

EJ Montgomery is another one if I recall. He was a Duke lean but he had a weird few visits where he didnt mesh well with their team at all.

Argument from absurdity- nice fallacy if it's all you got, but more idiotic than absurd. The lottery.... lmao
I have about the same chance of hitting the lottery as CMP has of getting this kid from Duke or North Carolina.

Its a waste of time and money.

Keith Bogans, Patrick Patterson, ...John Wall, ...

There are kids they offered and didn't get. All schools have those players for various reasons.

Same as UKFB pulling 5 star Justin Rogers out of Michigan when he had a ton of big 10 and other P5 offers. JUST ONE of the reasons people hated Stiops & Co. He did things they thought were impossible and would never have tried themselves. Too weak
