agreed this is not a spring sport anymore and what about Army itself and colleges north forget it!!Exhibit A on why the season needs to move to March and go through the end of June. Screw Memorial Day Weekend, it's obsolete.
Well that is a relief. Any idea if they will still be able to show the game on BTN+?Alums/supporters were sent an email confirming the game has been moved inside of the Bubble.
And most of the stud teams are in cold-weather areas. Not sure why they went along with starting in January.Exhibit A on why the season needs to move to March and go through the end of June. Screw Memorial Day Weekend, it's obsolete.
Also I think it's safe to say that the sport has evolved to the point at which the crowds will still be there for a non-MDW weekend. Move on already this is absurd.Alums/supporters were sent an email confirming the game has been moved inside of the Bubble. They really need to move the start of the season back. It's ridiculous at this point. Playing past MDW should be irrelevant. It's a Spring sport. Play it in the Spring.
The sport is only hurting itself from a growth standpoint by not evolving to a March-June schedule. Lax NCAA Tourney games in June at night would draw over 5K fans. It’s really unfair to the players. From the cold but also the crowds. It’s like 100 fans in February vs 3-4K in April and May.
They already draw over that. The sport is only hurting itself from a growth standpoint by not evolving to a March-June schedule. Lax NCAA Tourney games in June at night would draw over 5K fans.
We were told they are looking into it but the Bubble is not set up for it so I’m guessing not likely.Well that is a relief. Any idea if they will still be able to show the game on BTN+?
I was afraid of that. I would imagine GS has cameras set up in the Bubble so he can film football practices, but perhaps not the space or facilities for the larger cameras that would be required for a full blown TV broadcast. We were told they are looking into it but the Bubble is not set up for it so I’m guessing not likely.
I doubt it theres nowhere to put the cameras to capture the actionWell that is a relief. Any idea if they will still be able to show the game on BTN+?
We may have our own indoor facility at some point. Some wild stuff happening behind the scenes.Play early season games in the South or in domes. Get 10 teams together at each site and play the first 5-6 games in a proper climate. When it warms up in April play on campus.
Well-said, Matt...The sport is only hurting itself from a growth standpoint by not evolving to a March-June schedule. Lax NCAA Tourney games in June at night would draw over 5K fans.
If you ever watch Michigan on Big Ten + they rarely have announcers its the worstWe may have our own indoor facility at some point. Some wild stuff happening behind the scenes.
The broadcast is going to be guerilla. RU staff is broadcast via facebook live, no announcers. Best we are going to get.
Yes indeed!Exhibit A on why the season needs to move to March and go through the end of June. Screw Memorial Day Weekend, it's obsolete.
You must not have watched the ESPN+ broadcast of the Jacksonville game. It made BTN look like the Super Bowl.Well at least the video quality on FB live is free and video quality won’t be too far off from BTN+ (I still think that was the biggest miss in the new media deal to get more professionally produced non revenue sports in regular BTN like the ACCN).
Ha! I saw it. Atrocious. The zoom and color contrasts made me wonder if my tv was going bad lol.You must not have watched the ESPN+ broadcast of the Jacksonville game. It made BTN look like the Super Bowl.
Atrocious is being too generousHa! I saw it. Atrocious. The zoom and color contrasts made me wonder if my tv was going bad lol.
