I was happy to see Gibson wrestle. Would have been great if he pulled it out. He made some scoring attempts at least. It kind of looks like we're in the bottom 3 of the conference this year. Starting to think Crackers is right about 141. Very coincidental that this incident happened at the same time as the other two were busted. Either way, just let the kid wrestle. Who gives a ****.
Could be a school decision and out of Goodale hands.

Ya think? I know that East Hanover crowd all too well. They spend half their lives trying to rob or scam people. Its amazing they never use that brain power for something constructive.

Pretty close to my prediction. I see it as bad as 8-2 with best case 6-4. They've had a lot of time off, and Penn State was not an indication of readiness - too outclassed to tell. If he even wrestles, will Olivieri be in shape after all that time off?
My picks for the two wins were Shawver (even in his current form) and Barbosa. Best case was another two between Smith, Pinto, and Cotton. I'm glad to see the best case play out. Glad also to see Smith do well. Gibson is a talent and should be at 133. I hope he gets that chance next year. If Knox does show up and goes 133, that will be the end of Gibson's chances; if Knox goes 125, I won't be surprised to see Smith transfer.

I’ve never seen such poor mat wrestling from a team as a whole. Non stop sit outs and roll attempts. Head on the mat, hips downs. Feet flying in the air. Little to no hand control. It’s like high school mat wrestling
Agree. We are not well coached

Well that is not happening now with Knox but wishful thinking.

But he desperately needs a top assistant.
You can massively see how much Pritzlaff is missed.
You don’t hold a program hostage over one recruit. He may never even end up at Rutgers and even he does he may not stay or pan out. No one recruit is worth especially today where wrestlers come and go at will.

Bingo. This is why the gap year concerns me. Too much time for him to watch and think. If another school has a pressing need for him andthey have money, they will buy out the RU deal and still pay him. You don't make a coaching decision based on a recruit. You either keep Scott or let him go based on him not possibly losing a recruit you may never have

Not much coaching can do when you’re physically inferior and constantly get manhandled by superior teams.
Our kids reach S&C limits and their bodies max out short of their ranked opponents
Recruiting is part of and of course a big part of coaching and we are not getting it done there we need to bring a big name coach in and then we can compete for championships

He may be hooked but lets hope he and Kelli realize we need a new coach if we want to as she says compete and win championships because Goddale is not the guy
There are other coaches whose seats are way hotter than Goody’s seat - Caitlin Schweihofer and Coquese Washington are at the top of the list — and Zinn can’t fire too many coaches all in one year.

But the fact she hasn’t fired Schweihofer after a sixth straight year of our VB team being a bottom rung team clearly indicates that Keli wants to see how her coaches perform with resources before pulling the plug.

Goody isn’t going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

Lol...why are we getting manhandled???

How many times do we give up points on the edge at the end of periods?

How many times do we let guys out a nuthair before riding time is above 1 min?

I am no wrestling expert but have made efforts to learn the sport and watch a lot of wrestling. I also watch a lot with guys who are deep wrestling guys. To a person they all agree.

This is a sport where we have ALL the bones to be a top 10 program every year. It is time for another coach.

Sadly, you're not wrong

One of the reasons I am so frustrated with Greg is that I think its all hands on deck to try and stabilize that sh1tshow so she cant afford to have too many other fires to fight.

I think if Football was on a different trajectory we would see some movement with coaches

I still think women's bball is getting canned btw lol

Another sport where we need a new coach; this guy can only get us so far and that is not where we should be we can't beat any top teams
We have great football players who lack speed, we have great wrestlers who lack strength.
All the coaching in the world doesn’t change that.
When I watch us wrestle I’m amazed at the lack of strength to maintain leverage, they seem to be manhandled

Too much other sh*t (coaches) on her plate to fix first. Goodale's safe with his rinse and repeat around .500 in conference 8 to 11th place finishes at B1G tourney and barely cracking or missing the Top 20. Goodale's strong suit is not fundraising, in the age of NIL he's a dinosaur.

Pinto got manhandled due to strength?

We have other kids who have been in the program for years...whats their excuse?

Sorry zappa...this is all on the coach and (lack of) development

Amazing how things have gone dramatically south since pritzlaff left...

its coaching brother, coaching....

Part of coaching is preparing the athletes technically, mentally, and physically. This team lacks in all three phases. I agree with zap. This team is always weaker than their opponents. We need to get better at preparing these athletes in the S&C department. We fizzle as the match goes beyond 1st period. And our athletes always look physically smaller than their opponents.

Pritzlaff was a huge loss. Not to mention Seabass and Buxton heading out with him. The fact that Donnie was able to have a better coaching staff than goody with less resources is a glaring issue within the program.
