I wasn't going no matter what. I have to comment on some of the political mind changes though. What exactly is the point of traveling if you only want to be around people that think exactly like you do? I've found that when traveling if you are nice to people, don't rub their noses in your contrary views, and be sensitive to their views, they will almost always be nice to you. I've had some very good discussions with people I disagree with while traveling. Just be polite. I certainly wouldn't let what going on in Minnesota stop me from going to that game if I wanted to go.
Thought about not going because of the BS going on in the Twin Cities and then thought if I want to go see the Dawgs play football and maybe see a MLB stadium I haven’t been to, drink some MN craft beer then 17 those idiot ultra libs, I’m not going to let them control what I do.
Also know that just about every other area of MN outside of the TC is very conservative and hates what’s going on in the capitol city area.

I imagine no one will have a problem going to the game regarding all this ICE stuff. If it's still going on, just try to avoid those areas. Best way to be safe is to just not go and participate/rubber neck in that crap. Stay home and vote how you want in the fall. An update which is troubling is I just heard on the news, a bunch of those protesters have broken into ICE and other law enforcement vehicles/gun safes and stole a bunch of fully automatic rifles and other weapons. This could really end up being bad. Certainly wouldn't want to be anywhere near a bunch of crazy Somalians with machine guns. Hopefully, this will all die down by the time we play at the U. of Minnesota. Again, make sure if ya'll do go, to take a few more hours and go up north to see the origin of the Mississippi River. It's a very well done State Park. I went immediately after we won the 2021 NC in baseball. It was even better than I expected.

Why don’t you ease on over to Nigeria and strike up a convo there. I’d leave your bible at home if I were you
Why does it always have to be the extremes with people like you? I’ve never been to Africa and have no desire to go.

By the way, I do read. My Bible would be quite welcome in southern Nigeria.

Could be an interesting time leading up to the midterms. We played a road game at Missouri in 2015 on a Thursday night during all the protests on the Mizzou campus. It wasn't violent, but there were a lot of protesters.
No thanks. I worked for a MN based company for several years. I still have a lot of former co-workers/friends in that area that I stay in touch with (well the ones that don't have effed up political ideologies and didn't "unfriend" me). Anyway I could give zero ***** about going back to the **** hole twin cities and I could get some primo seats if I'd like (CEO of said company was a UM grad and on their board on regents). I hated going up there. Lake Minnetonka is ok. Mall of America, meh. Paisley Park, sure drive by it but the rest is unimressive IMO. I will say this, if the MN State fair is still in town, GO. It's one of the best State fairs left in America. It's in late August, early September.

Would be a cool trip, but there’s no way to take long trips right now during school weeks. Unless they are now firing tear gas into the Mall of America or other places the wife would want to visit,, don’t think any protests would be a factor.
I admittedly haven’t been since 2014, but you should hope they’re firing tear gas in the Mall of America.

Was there in June 2017 and 2018, stayed in St Paul.. Hit many breweries and took the brewery tour on the train to Minneapolis. Great weather, narrow and not muddy Mississippi River was nice to see. Ventured into a Walmart in Little Somalia with it's own police substation and a cop looking at my buddy and I like we were nuts. That being said, I'll never go back as long as the inmates are running the asylum.
It’s awful now, you definitely wouldn’t be safe doing that now.

Do you have a brain? I don’t care about being around people who think differently than me.

I do have a problem with chaos and anarchy though!

There a difference between not going to places where people have different view than you do and not going to places where mobs of people are violent. That said, this will die down well before our game there. And Minneapolis is actually a very nice city.

I’ve never been to Minneapolis. And don’t plan to. Extreme!!??? Like you brethren attacking our police? Violence begets violence. And your side is the ones promoting it. Not debatable for any sane human being

And again you are assuming something you should‘t. I do not agree with the protesters at all. I’m not on their side. I’m a Conservative. Again, you can’t handle anything that you even think has even a hint of anything that doesn’t fit your world view. Hilarious.

Been living in St. Paul/Minny for about 4 years now after graduating from MSU. It will be good weather, and if you have the opportunity to drive up for it, I’d recommend doing that so that you could possibly go further North near Duluth for some incredible parks. If you can maybe go a week early to catch the state fair, its a cultural phenomenon that is hard to describe, really fun though. The cities are massive, tons of stuff to do, great music, great food, pretty affordable for visitors. I think alot of State fans would enjoy the trip, and I’m always happy to see traveling MSU fans when I get the chance to. Last time this happened was 2023 when State basketball played at the barn and that was a blast.

Were they Somalis ?
So everyone in Minnesota is Somali? Come on man. The state isn’t a monolith. The people doing the protesting are a small minority. The Somalis are a Small minority.

Would like to understand how a state basically in the middle of nowhere has somehow now become a bedrock of progressive liberalism. Weird.

Yes, but the whole place is not consumed by that. You are in more danger in a lot of Mississippi towns from Normal violence than you are up there from this crap, unless you are a protestor or an Ice agent.Thats reality. Quit letting those that want to divide us on both sides control the narrative.

Since moving to the gulf coast I’ve had a lot of interactions with the midwestern snow birds. Minnesotans are hands down the biggest A holes of the bunch. Wisconsin is hit or miss. Iowans are the best. Don’t see many New Englanders where I’m at but my Atlantic coast Florida friends would trade every one of the NY/ NJ crowd if they could.

It’s been that way a long time. A lot of Scandinavian roots up there.

Bout a 4 hr drive for me. Definitely will be there. Hoping for a midday or night game. Figure Texsa-anOSU is nighttime ABC. OU @ Michigan is Big noon. Iowa-ISU is usually early in the morning - but could be the fox 230. Mizzou @ Kansas is Noon ABC. ASU @ Aggy is likely 230 ABC.

Arkansas at Utah is the competition and could be super late night Fox. Oregon @ Okie Lite is likely CBS.

Really good chance we're nationally televised that week.

Fun fact about society. The closer you are to people, the more liberal you become. What's the reasonable conclusion to draw here.

Hint: It's about interacting with people of all walks of life in person rather than filtered through a screen.

I'm going dressed as a Somalian and plan to offer to carry one of the suitcases back to Somalia. If everything goes as planned I'll be able to donate some NIL money!
How much is in the suitcase? I could use the 10% whistleblower reward to finance my trip to Fraudville.

Being as n
Republican news stories tell them it's the biggest money scandal in history.

It's a drop in the bucket of the unfettered white collar crime going on in the US but it's somehow the thing that holds their attention span.
