How does a division one athlete, where his schedule is widely known, not be arrested for two months with an outstanding warrant? It’s not like he’s been hiding in the mountains.
Because LE was not actively looking to enforce the warrant. Outstanding warrant only becomes known if you have an encounter with LE, which AJ did. Enforcing outstanding warrants is a simple way that LE can reduce crime, many of the them are for felonies, the perp is still out there committing more crime. There can be a significant cost in money and time to tracking down the perp with the outstanding warrant.

Because AJ's schedule is widely known. Albert's schedule isn't known at all.

When he was in Iowa City, people here still thought his name was Anthony. He had already wrestled in college for 2 years and been a national champ. Anthony was already Fredo. And we follow the sport.

It probably took a while for the local authorities in suburban Dallas to (1) figure out Albert = AJ and he's living in Nebraska; (2) get approval for extradition.

Speaking of which: gotta think Texas isn't extraditing him for speeding or fleeing a routine traffic stop. They could just mail him a ticket for that stuff. So then what happened?

Fleeing a traffic stop in TX is a felony.

I love to see these young men enjoying life. As I watched Connor and Marcus interview William Henckel it was great to see their youthful and carefree love of life. I struggled a lot with my mental health in college, so I can appreciate, maybe more than others, how just taking enjoyment in the small things in life is so important. It would not surprise me if that is just one of the myriad qualities Cael looks for in who he recruits. Cael then works on developing that quality in the wrestlers, with a focus on gratitude. I think this is why most Penn State wrestlers seem to wrestle looser than their opponents.

Wow -- that's real.

Lancaster County NE is Lincoln. Collin County TX is where Angelo attended HS, so AJ got into some kind of trouble at home. Presumably they're not extraditing him for bad lifting form.

"Fugitive From Justice" is kinda funny though. Probably the correct term, but he's not on the run.
That’s a bold assumption. His form might be a felony in many jurisdictions

Police didn’t even chase him. Put out an APB on burning clutch smell and found him 3 blocks away sitting still and trying to grind it into gear. Pure Breaded Italian sitting still and cranking out 8500 rpm in a cloud of burning clutch smoke baby!
Speaking of grinding gears, one time as a police officer I heard this ungodly sound of someone grinding the gears of their car. I found the car barely moving in the middle of the road and pulled the driver over. The driver was a doctor in town for some convention. He was so drunk that when I asked him to recite the alphabet he was actually combing letters and numbers : ) I think the grinding of the gears was because he thought the rental he was driving was a manual rather than an automatic!

Being a retired LEO, I can tell you that warrants like this, especially where the person is now in another state, aren't a priority for the issuing jurisdiction. Unless authorities in Nebraska had been tipped off about the warrant prior to the traffic stop, it appears they ran him as part of the traffic stop and discovered the warrant. Considering AJ's prior driving issues, that he was pulled over for speeding isn't exactly a great indicator that he has started making better decisions in life. Disclaimer: since I don't know how fast he was going over the posted speed limit, maybe it was just bad luck he was pulled over. That being said, most people could go years or forever and not be stopped by the police. Also, I am not sure if Texas will extradite or not. Sometimes on a felony warrant the issuing jurisdiction will note on the warrant what states, if any, they will extradite from. No matter how this all turns out, it is another example of death by a thousand cuts for AJ.

He was busted for going 90. The speed limit probably wasn't a factor in his getting pulled over.

Mixed bag for him if Texas didn't note extradition from Nebraska. Good in that he wouldn't be extradited. Crushing blow to his ego that they didn't know who he is and where he is.

He probably did considering he seems to rarely take them off, and that still was taken when he was filming some wrestling technique on the mat:

Can he sing? Perhaps he’s preparing for a career as an Elvis impersonator.

And even if Texas doesn't extradite, I can't imagine the Nebraska AD will just ignore the outstanding Texas case, especially considering AJ's past issues.

Ryan- Gorilla med fft. Healthy for consies.
Brands-Agrees to home & away gorilla match. PSU guys hammer gorilla in Carver. Gorilla never comes to Penn St.
Manning-Gorilla loses while Manning yells for 7 minutes.
Smith- Gorilla shows up weighing 141 lbs and gets beat down. Transfers to Lock Haven and places at heavy the next year.

Goodale- Gorilla gets hammered but Rutgers lands a Gerbil to help next year. BOOM!
Bono- Gorilla does ok but loses. 15 better gorillas that came from Askren wrestling are competing elsewhere.
Grey- Gorilla loses but lawyers are checking for possible loophole.
Dresser- PSU whips gorilla, but Dresser schedules a match for his gorilla against a poodle so he still has the wins to qualify.
Cael- Gorilla is supposedly unreal, but depth makes it hard for him to crack the lineup. Pyles has a plan but won't share it with Cael.

Speed limit was 75, cop wrote him up for 90.

So likely saw him weaving in and out of lanes, aggressively on people’s bumpers when he couldn’t, etc…. probably not just cruising along 5-10 mph faster than most of the traffic.

That's the biggest thing that everyone seems to be missing. Even if Texas doesn't want to go through the effort of extraditing him back from Nebraska, that doesn't mean the crime just disappears. He's still a wanted fugitive in Texas responsible for turning himself in.

Grey - Gorilla goes on unhinged rant about steroids. Mrs. Coach binges on social media.

Brands - Gorilla throws ankle bands at the winner. (Brands' gorilla did this at NCAAs!)
