Penn State just received a commit from a kid who will be playing his EIGHTH season of college ball
So he should be about 25yo. Enrolled in 2019.

My guess is to try to regroup on D. They were on the field a ton and the Canes drove down fairly quick. Nothing else stuck out to me.I was listening on the radio, so maybe there was something going on that I wasn't aware of but why in the world did Ole Miss call those 2 times at the end when Miami was inside the 10? By calling those 2 timeouts they gave Miami 2 extra plays and allowed them to run the ball.
Better question might be - does he have a bachelor’s degree?Does Beck have at least one Master’s degree after seven years?
Not excited for the canes, but happy no sec in the final for 3 straight yearsFun game. If you got no dog in the fight, try for a fun game.
I think he was staying to save time so they could try to score but then you let them score after the first timeout. It was poorly managed by a new coach IMO. I do get what he was thinking but seriously flawed.I was listening on the radio, so maybe there was something going on that I wasn't aware of but why in the world did Ole Miss call those 2 times at the end when Miami was inside the 10? By calling those 2 timeouts they gave Miami 2 extra plays, preserved their timeouts and allowed them to run the ball.

Stud. Not only is he talented, he is also tough as nails, and LOVES football.Toney is a talent.
Yeah that was bad a$$ stuff . Even worse from this camera angle .Very blatant, especially since WR still touched the ball. Refs would never have the guts to call it though.
I agree. There was a lot of hand fighting going on, so good no call. The WR left arm is trying to push off the DB (that's why you cannot see it in the frame). The DB and WR were both pushing and grabbing.

Before a CFP run is crazy .Coaches move on, it’s part of it.
Like Spitt, they have no home games. Miami Gardens isn't anywhere near Coral Gables. It should be interesting to see how Miami performs next week. They got beat up tonight but they are at home for the CG
So use the technology we have to get the call right!I will admit I am getting tired of the constant over analysis of rules/penalties. I think PI is hard to officiate so passing should be banned(just kidding). However, we(TV Viewers) have the benefit of video slow mo replay in which the game announcers have many spotters with various video angles. Put yourself in the shoes of the officials on the field in real time attempting to cover every player/position/vantage point etc. There is no way with the speed of the game, in real time, that they will catch everything at every position. I am sure they place themselves in the best position possible based on their interpretation of the play on the field(they don't know the play calls of each team). As we know there is holding on pretty much every play. Players will try to get away with(or disguise) as much as possible(like picks on dbs, defensive lineman holding onto to OL to prevent them from getting to their blocking assignment, OL holding DL up close where refs can't see it, etc). We also penalties called in real time, that after the fact and in slow move many video angles that don't really look like they should be called. There is way too much focus on over analyzing the play on the field. Same with strike/ball calls in baseball when umps are trying to judge a 100 mph pitch in the strike zone. With the human element to officiating, there is always the risk of not being 100% correct all the time. Stepping off my soap box now....![]()
Then we'll have a flag on literally every play. Every single playSo use the technology we have to get the call right!
How long would that take?So use the technology we have to get the call right!
Not if you limit the # of challenges a team can use…Then we'll have a flag on literally every play. Every single play
What can be challenged if there is no flag on the play? You want coaches be able to challenge no calls? Not if you limit the # of challenges a team can use…
CFL allows challenges for PI (among a bunch of other things). You get 1 challenge, though success on the first challenge earns you a second. A lost challenge costs a timeout. So you must have a timeout left to challenge. What can be challenged if there is no flag on the play? You want coaches be able to challenge no calls?

Would have been wild to see a challenge on that play. I’d be inclined to let the play stand as I don’t think it was egregiously bad.
If it gets the call correct..how about creating this rule… all plays in the end zone are subject to review. Just a suggestion… we have the technology but screw using it..What can be challenged if there is no flag on the play? You want coaches be able to challenge no calls?
I disagree. Yes, they were both doing it, but the Miami defender was on him so much that Ole Miss WR never really got a fair opportunity to go try to get that ball.I agree. There was a lot of hand fighting going on, so good no call. The WR left arm is trying to push off the DB (that's why you cannot see it in the frame).
But in the last 2 minutes everything can be reviewed...so do the refs have to review every aspect of the play to verify no penaltiesNot if you limit the # of challenges a team can use…
Ok … you win. I am outBut in the last 2 minutes everything can be reviewed...so do the refs have to review every aspect of the play to verify no penalties
I understand you're hoping to make things better but replay for penalties would be a nightmare IMI
Not sure if we have the correct technology in football yet. It think in most MLB parks they have something called StatCast which is like 12 or more high speed cameras which track a lot of things but baseball doesn't move as fast as football and there are only a few individuals involved in a play(batter, pitcher, catcher, fielder). Even baseball has not implemented the technology for this. There are many times when balls are called strikes that change the at bat that effect the outcome of the game. In football there are need to be several camaras focusing on each position(offense and defense) from several angles in order to capture high def images all the time. Over the course of each play there would be hundreds of images every millisecond that would need to be parsed thru in order to analyze plays. I don't think the technology is in place in every pro/college stadium etc. They would have to apply this tech to every game and not just big games for consistency over the course of the season. Do the players just in the immediate vicinity of where the ball is get reviewed? What if there was a pick prior to the WR getting open in the endzone, what if a lineman was holding 20 yards away from the play? There are too many scenarios for the constant reviewing to be fair and equitable over the course of a football game and season. Officiating whether good or bad is just part of the game and no technology is going to replace it anytime soon. It has taken years for the reviews to be put in place and we saw(with PSU) how that even gets it wrong in the past.If it gets the call correct..how about creating this rule… all plays in the end zone are subject to review. Just a suggestion… we have the technology but screw using it..
