Agreed but there stock goes up because of the perception of ND vs RUWith the RB's they have he might not have played at ND.

It's all moot now. He is at Cal, a middling ACC team. Not exactly a step up for Strong. But Cal does have a dynamic young QB. And a new HC and staff.Agreed but there stock goes up because of the perception of ND vs RU
The QB is very good. Unless he puts up video game like numbers, this move isn't going to help his draft stock because the ACC is viewed poorly as a power conference. It's all moot now. I provided some details in the thread announcing his commitment. It is linked below. The QB is very good. Unless he puts up video game like numbers, this move isn't going to help his draft stock because the ACC is viewed poorly as a power conference.
He's still getting draft but this level of competition doesn't help improve his draft stock. It's one thing if he was playing his final year in the SEC or B1G going up against quality DBs most weeks and putting up numbers.I provided some details in the thread announcing his commitment. Cal hang on to Justin Wilcox with middling results. They could not break through the 7-8 win barrier, and with Ron Rivera as their GM, he canned Wilcox when they would not achieve 7 wins this season.
Their QB was only a freshman this year. If Ian Strong makes first team ACC with 1,000 plus yards like their senior receiver this season, he will do fine.
On the plus side for him is that he has a dynamic and experienced QB. Agree on what you said. Perhaps if Cal can make a deep run in ACC and play in the championship game, that may help. He's still getting draft but this level of competition doesn't help improve his draft stock. He'll need a really good combine with a low 4.5 40 to improve on the Day 3 grade he got this year.
I’m thinking the 7 figure number isn’t accurateOdd landing spot considering the names(SEC,B1G programs) and numbers being tossed around. If the 7 figure Rutgers rumor is correct. I can’t imagine Cal would be paying considerably more. Considering they have had problems retaining their talent in the NIL world. I get proven qb, but it’s cal new staff and the ACC.
Agreed. If it is Ian needs to reevaluate his advisors.I’m thinking the 7 figure number isn’t accurate
He had a 7 figure number on the table from Rutgers.I’m thinking the 7 figure number isn’t accurate
Allegedly. As we have discussed over the years. There are no confirmed numbers. All perceived value. He had a 7 figure number on the table from Rutgers.
I have *no* inside information, but I'd be surprised if Cal has any more to spend than Rutgers does. Instead he has a chance to play with a star QB (as Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele certainly is even after a single year). It's the choice between playing with a recognized star and playing with an RU QB who hasn't established stardom yet.Certainly hope it’s about the money and not on what he thinks our QB potential is next year.
Have you listened to any of the podcasts where Strong was discussed?Allegedly. As we have discussed over the years. There are no confirmed numbers. All perceived value.
I don't know. That RB they have would have high value wherever he played. Dude is an obvious stud.Agreed but there stock goes up because of the perception of ND vs RU
Yes. And they even say it’s what they “heard” from sources. Who would be the person that would be telling the story. The buyer or the seller? Sellers tend to overvalue and overstate. Buyers play it close to vest.Have you listened to any of the podcasts where Strong was discussed?
Their sources are from within the program. We’ve even been told the eye popping number for Duff on the Round Table.Yes. And they even say it’s what they “heard” from sources. No one from within the program, that has the true numbers, is giving up that information. Come on what benefit would that have to the program? I used to love working on deals. Knowing the true value and hearing from 3rd parties what the whisper numbers were. Let me tell you. They were never correct.Their sources are from within the program. Hey you want to play ignorant that’s on you. We’ve also heard the range of the NIL offer he accepted. All I’ll say is his agent overplayed his hand on what the perceived market value was when he convinced Ian to enter the portal. No one from within the program, that has the true numbers, is giving up that information. Wow that escalated. Ignorant? Buddy I’ve followed NIL from the start and have been balls on accurate with everything I’ve said. Go back and look at RUGUY2 and my discussions. If you want to be a lemming and believe every thing you hear from “sources” that’s on you. Now your pivoting to range. Congratulations! And yea the advisor definitely overplayed his hand. Ian will be on the NFL regardless of where he goes. And he should go low versus later.Hey you want to play ignorant that’s on you. We’ve also heard the range of the NIL offer he accepted. The range is for what he’s getting at Cal not RU. Instead of being so full of yourself, try reading more closely next time.Wow that escalated. Ignorant? Yea and that’s what I responded. Range as in no one really knows what he is getting. It’s all speculation. Cal wouldn’t be advertising nor would Rutgers. The only people that would be talking are the people that are not involved, in a position of weakness or someone asking for more than is available. The range is for what he’s getting at Cal not RU. You just love to argue & pretend you are always rightNo one from within the program, that has the true numbers, is giving up that information. Come on what benefit would that have to the program? Nope. I don’t start things. People respond to me with feelings over facts. You just love to argue & pretend you are always right
Mike Ditka just called me and said he has your IQ right here buddyNope. I don’t start things. People respond to me with feelings over facts.
also don’t have a problem admitting when I’m wrong. Did it today in the ref thread. So not always right. Just don’t post unless I have direct knowledge/experience or have done the proper research.
Cool story. Glad you can add to the conversation. As usual.Mike Ditka just called me and said he has your IQ right here buddy

Still no DC and staff! Strong picked Calba proven future 1 round QB instead of Surace. Nothing to do money.Yep, that's why Duff and Raymond stayed. Love the clown show that you are, stay true to yourself.

With the absolute incompetence of our coach this was a much needed laugh! Well done
