Firing Keenum would be monumentally stupid at this juncture. I don't get that narrative by State fansHow does one fire a university president?

Kinda have to get a little lucky there, like we did when Doc came in, changed shlt up, and fired himself. How does one fire a university president?
I don't want Keenum fired. But Selmon was a bad hire. Maybe he could delegate athletics hiring to a committee or something.Firing Keenum would be monumentally stupid at this juncture. I don't get that narrative by State fans
What has he done besides build buildings and the rainy-day fund?Firing Keenum would be monumentally stupid at this juncture. I don't get that narrative by State fans
I'm not donating anything until we at least look like we're trying to be serious about running a P2 college football program and not a clown show.
Well all that is something. What has he done besides build buildings and the rainy-day fund?
^^^THIS^^^Have you ever given to NIL?
This. If you are a promising 19-20 yr old lineman and you hear this guy talk, are you excited?Beginning?
He's out of his league as an SEC head coach.
What if we don't believe in tipping professional athletes? This is a weird culture being built out. I don't feel the need to tip Ja Morant when I go to a Grizz game but I do wish him success in getting paid obscene amounts of money by his employer and advertisers. Keep compensation in the business model world and don't ask regular fans to subsidize anything directly.^^^THIS^^^
I think that only the individuals contributing to NIL should be able to b!tch about how much money MSU is spending on NIL or how that money is being spent.
I got questions, lots of questions, on these subjects.
its very difficult to get five new O lineman every year and have them play As one unit, in synchronicity with mediocre O line coaching. Iowa has stacked classes they develop and by the time they are juniors they start and are monsters. They use the portal for maybe one piece if needed or for depth. It's hilarious to me that so many in our fanbase are bought into the idea that all our current players (this year and last year) were just not good enough. And we should just cut them all and go out and find new players. Couple of things:
- How the hell do we know that there are better players out there (the ones that are, we can't afford, and already know where they are going);
- At what point do you start saying that Lenny is the problem because he can't get anything out of what he has?
We have like 10 OL and DL in the portal now. They will all be a year older next year. Seems to me the smart money would be on paying them smaller amounts to stay, and develop them, rather than this yearly portal rat race. And if Lenny isn't the guy to do that, we've got the wrong coach.
You can't just keep saying that your 1st and 2nd year players suck and discard them yearly. That's incredibly inefficient. Not to mention that you're the one who thought, at one time, they were worthy to recruit.

If Baylor can do it, why not? We can offer more than a practice squad salary and clearly eligibility rules dont matter.I like this idea. Seriously.
You are correct. I should have added those items since a significant portion of NIL $ is coming out of the general athletic revenue.Sooo, a fan that spends money on tickets, seat fees, parking, hotel, meals, gas, etc needs to keep their mouth shut about the terrible product on the field the last two years?
But you sure felt that they needed to be paid. What if we don't believe in tipping professional athletes? This is a weird culture being built out. Now, if you're the guy that gets some sort of personal joy out of it, I don't see why you shouldn't pay a stranger to play sports above and beyond what they get through their employer. If it makes a better sports product for me, I'm good with that. I just think it's weird to ask the masses to participate in that model.
Nothing irritates me moreMix in one of those patented "you guys are not real fans because you refuse to blindly donate your money ..." soap box specials.
I think the ol coach not getting canned is a clue. Technically the defensive staff not being fired last year was a clue. Or just the staff to start with. We increase our talent because we could be Toledo but we should have beat them with the talent we had, this year the excuse is the line talent was not good enough. Maybe true but doesn't look like it's being fixedIt's hilarious to me that so many in our fanbase are bought into the idea that all our current players (this year and last year) were just not good enough. More than most. Less than a lot. Who cares? So very very little!
got it
He better have less time than that. He needs to be gone by the end of October so we can get his replacement in place and started on recruiting.Prediction - We’ll eventually sign 4-6 underwhelming transfers, we’ll be told that they’re all actually solid additions due to blah blah blah, and then we’ll get the whole “what did you 17ers expect?” speech.
As Hadad likes to say, you don’t have to be a chef to know that a steak is overdone, and Lebby’s been serving us burnt sirloins for 2 years. He’s got 11 months
By the people making money off of their performance, names, image, and likeness -absolutely! They get my dollars through ticket purchases, espn subscriptions, or a small cut of the sales from businesses they are representatives of. Good old fashioned capitalism. Just like the pros. All for that. But you sure felt that they needed to be paid.
I haven’t and won’t.Have you ever given to NIL?
We had the second largest offensive line in the country this year.Lebby’s up tempo, high volume offense doesn’t require a bunch of elite portal NIL bloated offensive linemen like more traditional scheme or tempos do. Instead, it thrives with a rotation of well conditioned o-line sized bodies that can sustain the most snaps in the country. High tempo demands rotating some linemen to stay fresh. Several solid, cardio trained bodies are valued over brute strength in Lebby’s style of offense. That’s why Shaud Williams specifically trains them for this style. We are good and will add a few more guys who fit this mold.

3*, 48th OT in the portal. BUT he redshirted last year at FSU and hasn't played a down in college. Hopefully he's a good addition.Mario Nash - FSU is in the boat. Potentially a good pickup.
State's academic reputation has gone steadily in the dumper since he's been president.Well all that is something.
I was just thinking that while reading Will's post. Is there really any one, outside of Will, that thinks we are quote "good" in current the state on the O-line? I am just curious to know.We are good? Like now, currently?
We’ve been watching different football teams apparently.
That comment is all I need to see to know he is just a troll.I was just thinking that while reading Will's post. Is there really any one, outside of Will, that thinks we are quote "good" in current state on the O-line? I am just curious to know.

I was thinking so. I was just genuinely curious is there anybody dumb enough to agree with the troll about our O-Line. I have been an O-Line coach in high school for the last two decades along with playing O-line in college. It took me about 2 seconds to realize he had no idea what the hell is was talking about when it comes to O-Line play. That comment is all I need to see to know he is just a troll.
