Wonder if he likes to drink beer and have sex like the QB that left did. Those that persecuted DR for that better keep the same energy.

This is not a huge get. He has ridden the bench as a back up for a reason. Rhule proves yet again that he can’t recruit difference making talent.
On the other hand, this is a QB we can win most of our games with against the weaker teams on our schedule. Maybe even lead us to an upset or two.
Overall … meh. We will have to wait and see.

Just glad they didn't didn't waste 3,4,5 or even 2 million on a QB.
Matt Rhule's fat *** can beg all he wants, but you need to actually show something before the checkbook opens up. We need to economize in this portal cycle and overperform next season before we can start going after and landing bigger fish.

Not arguing with you, it's true he's been on the bench. But I'm actually curious if you've watched what tape there is on him? Because I'm pretty excited about what I've seen. He has ridden the bench "for a reason," but it's also possible that the reason is that the other guy is really good. CJ Carr is pretty damn good.

It is ok to argue with me. I could be freaking wrong as wrong gets. I have not looked at film of this guy. I will trust your observation that he looks good. And I am not denying that he is probably a “good” QB. But he is not as good as Carr, who is a great QB. And that is my point. What we are getting is a “good” but not great QB. And Nebraska will not return to being Nebraska until we start bringing in difference making talent. Needle moving talent. Hopefully this guy surprises me and is the next Mendoza. But on paper he isn’t a huge difference maker. And given the fact that Rhule has sh$t for brains when it comes to evaluating talent, I am not instilled with confidence that what he has done here is find a true diamond in the rough.

I admit don't know very much about this young man but what concerns me is his eyes. Now that may sound like a crazy reason to question what type of QB he is but looking at those eyes I see a desperate, panic look when he is getting ready to throw which I don't care for in a starting QB.

Remember Jeff Simms, he had the "OH ****" look down pat, even before the ball was snapped. I would rather see eyes looking confident when trying to make plays.

Just my opinion but maybe that and lack of decision making is maybe why he was 2nd string at ND.

No one can say for sure what we’re getting until he plays. The only sure thing is that he was a highly thought of high school recruit and good enough to be the backup at Notre Dame. 🤷

Fair enough. You really should watch some highlights of him though. Pretty impressive stuff - big, fast, accurate. Maybe he'll suck at Nebraska because of Rhule, etc., but I'm very hopeful this kid has "great QB" potential. I think not having the untouchable deity that was DR hanging around our necks will be a very good thing for our offense.

Let's see, this young man can move around in the pocket something we haven't didn't have for most of last year. This young man seems to distribute the ball fairly well from film we've seen and he was in the hunt to be ND's starting QB up to the very end last year. This young man is smart enough to go to and attend classes at ND, it's not some low end college. Now the bigger question for me is will Nebraska invest enough around him to make it work and will Nebraska invest enough in defense to help Nebraska truly improve, these are the real questions.

A legit run threat from the Qb would be nice.

Need a leader at the QB position to overcome Rhule. Pretty much we are looking for a Joe Burrow who overcame Orgeron. Raiola was a leader, albeit a weak one, for this team. The lack of effort and rally on the team in the last few games proves our coaches can’t fill that role.

Glad we picked up somebody from a winning program. At the very least he has seen good coaching in action.

QB scrambles. Deep throw in to 2 deep coverage in their spring game. 😕 Missed WR on a deep route.

Aidan Chiles actually has a much better highlight reel. Of course that doesn't show the lowlights. But in the right environment, Chiles would be a steal and have potential as high as any qb in the portal. Problem with him is I don't think NU is that right environment.

Nebraska is the definitely not the right environment

Hauss Hejny (I remember someone on here really wanted him in a Husker uni) is off to be a Ram....seems like a good pickup for Mora and Co.
