Yah, Hannah improved each year but has clearly regresssed so far this season. That can be a killer in close games.
She’s playing a different position with different expectations. Her points, rebounds, assists, and steals are all up from last year. Her rebounds and assists numbers are the best of her career. Her turnover numbers are down 39%. I respectfully disagree she has regressed.

Her FT% is down, but she also taking fewer.

I'm going to keep saying this, but the less Kylie plays and the more Stremlow and Deal play the better we'll be come March. Go back and look at the games she's played less and Strem and Deal have more then 10 minutes.

Kylie will be playing again when she is healthy, and includes come March.

Kieger will be out at end of the year. Would love to get # 19 from the portal. She would start for Iowa next year.
Wasn't it last season or the season before that the Student Newspaper published a story about her allegedly mis-treating some of her players. I remembering reading the story and supposedly it was going to be investigated but never heard anything about the results.

Sorry guys to complain as I really love this group and check regularly for great information. I do have a problem however when we:

1–make fun of young people who are bigger than most of us. That’s super disrespectful to some young ladies who are very good players. We don’t need to go that low.

2–we are critical of the coaches when we don’t know the rules. We lose our credibility as experts.

Not all will agree with me but I’m just saying……..

She has been one of Jan’s worst developed posts. It’s hard to comprehend

McMiller was really impressive. #23
Had never seen her play, and she wasn’t what I expected. She was a huge recruit for Rutgers, but was suspended when we played them. I had read all sorts of bad things about her last year and assumed she would be a jerk on the court.

Maybe still a problem in the locker room, but seemed like a sweetheart during the game. Lions do have a couple of guards that can score.

Well she’s not a post. She’s a Forward.
She's a post in a forward's body and she's been very effective at it over the last 4 years. No matter how hard Jan and co have tried to make her a WNBA-ready 4 (and i think she has the athletic ability to do so), she's proven she doesn't have the handles or shooting ability literally anywhere off the block to do that.

#1 - The main reason we belittle these ladies is they get by with a bunch of hacking, shoving, etc that doesn't get called.
Last nite either end of half or game, Ava was near the basket and got the ball from a pass, I think. The tall/big girl leaned into Ava's side/back -no call. Then she put her arm over the top of Ava's shoulder - no call, then as Ava shot she slapped down at the ball - no call. This last thing in other plays/games the announcers say anytime you slap down it is a foul, and happens a lot to AVA. Somehow these 2 get special treatment.

You catch the ball on a consistent basis with your back to the basket you are 100% a post player.
She is a forward who plays in the post area. I also agree she has not really developed many post moves. For a person who gets her shot blocked routinely it is frustrating that she has not developed moves to get away from the shot blockers. She's just not big enough to shoot over the average post player and that is her only offense, other than running the court which she is outstanding at.

This is exactly correct. She is a good defender and rebounder. She has zero offensive game facing the basket.

I commented during the game after watching 44 constantly doing what you described, as dirty.

First offensive possession, 44 has her knee in Heidens backside and pushes her off balance. Nothing called, you knew they were going to let her go.

That is a very commonly taught defensive tactic. The real problem is when they allow the defender's arms to be extended pushing the offensive player off the position.

It's just a function of the reffing in women's basketball being straight up trash.
