Heiden, Hays, and Stuelke should run ISU's big girl ragged. No way can she keep up with the Iowa bigs. She may score, fine, just hold everyone else down, like teams used to do with the men and Garza.Thats a plus for sure. Hope Hawks bring their A game. I think they have a good shot if they can control the tempo (up beat) and get some perimeter shots to fall.
Totally agree!Heiden, Hays, and Stuelke should run ISU's big girl ragged. No way can she keep up with the Iowa bigs. She may score, fine, just hold everyone else down, like teams used to do with the men and Garza.
I bet it was the Winnie the Pooh ride that screwed it up even worse. I remember the jolt from seeing my first ever heffalump and woozle last fall.Having Chit Chat back is amazing news! Thanks!!
I really had hoped to see Emely back by now
Back injuries can be so painful and lingering and easy to reinjure . I hope it didn't get aggravated/amplified at Disney.
That's if Iowa can get in transition and not just dribble down the court and fk around for 30 seconds before they try to lob it in.Heiden, Hays, and Stuelke should run ISU's big girl ragged. I guess you did not watch the Rutgers game or many other games this year. That's if Iowa can get in transition and not just dribble down the court and fk around for 30 seconds before they try to lob it in.
No, I'm just saying things for the fun of it.I guess you did not watch the Rutgers game or many other games this year.

ER's injury is just weird. She was fine in her last game. Did she get hurt in practice?Having Chit Chat back is amazing news! Thanks!!

Maybe because the other team are cupcakes. They haven't played anybody with a pulse yet. Indiana is not going to be that good this year. Also Rutgers will probably be the worst shooting team we see all season. If "running Crooks ragged" is so easy, why haven't all the other teams done it? People like Crooks don't just stumble into 27ppg with a 73% FG percentage.

Crooks vertical is about 1/2 an inch. Sadly, our post players is about the same. Expect Crooks to get a good whistle.
What you say? You think that Ava and Hannah can't outjump Crooks off the floor? Ava is pretty darn athletic, especially for a 6'4" girl. The reason that Hannah was put on Crooks in the 2nd half last year was so she could front her and stop them just throwing them into her on the block.Crooks vertical is about 1/2 an inch. IF Ava can stay out of foul trouble. Thats the biggie....Heiden, Hays, and Stuelke should run ISU's big girl ragged. No way can she keep up with the Iowa bigs. She may score, fine, just hold everyone else down, like teams used to do with the men and Garza.

Hannah was put on her bc O’Grady got pushed around by anyone near the same size as herWhat you say? You think that Ava and Hannah can't outjump Crooks off the floor? I don't know who you've been watching but ava is athletic as hell and can jump way higher than crooks. Crooks is just BIG and bullys her way around the basketCrooks vertical is about 1/2 an inch. Sadly, our post players is about the same. Expect Crooks to get a good whistle.
I saw the real big girl from Penn St, I think it was. After she jumped with the ball in hand and landed the ref did not call traveling. Well the ref just missed the call right. That's when I realized when she jumps she does not get off the ground so it is not traveling. Never before.Crooks vertical is about 1/2 an inch. Sadly, our post players is about the same. I saw that! Backed up twice to make sure, I don’t think her left foot ever left the floor. Did you see her maybe seconds earlier, just 2 hand shove the screen out of her way, nothing called!I saw the real big girl from Penn St, I think it was. would you take this hottie out?I think we have to take Crooks out by any means necessary because she's too dynamic.
I think you might be confusing the women with the men. That's if Iowa can get in transition and not just dribble down the court and fk around for 30 seconds before they try to lob it in.
I am not.I think you might be confusing the women with the men.
Except I don't think we really "run the ball" like we did a couple years ago.Heiden, Hays, and Stuelke should run ISU's big girl ragged. No way can she keep up with the Iowa bigs. She may score, fine, just hold everyone else down, like teams used to do with the men and Garza.
I am trying to think, what was different about the team two years ago? Who was delivering the ball to the rim runners?Except I don't think we really "run the ball" like we did a couple years ago.
Her stats are inflated because their early season schedule was pathetic.......mostly teams with weak posts who were outweighed by 50+ lbs. We have players big/tall enough to at least slow her down. Also Rutgers will probably be the worst shooting team we see all season. If "running Crooks ragged" is so easy, why haven't all the other teams done it? People like Crooks don't just stumble into 27ppg with a 73% FG percentage.
You sure? The women have played at a much faster pace than the men. The men are ranked 358th in the country in pace of play. I'm not sure where the women are ranked, but I'd bet that they are top 25.I am not.
Everyone plays weak teams in the early season, yet she's still the #1 scorer in the country. Her stats are inflated because their early season schedule was pathetic.......mostly teams with weak posts who were outweighed by 50+ lbs. We have players big/tall enough to at least slow her down.
I'm not saying they don't play with a higher pace than the men. I'm just saying I don't think we're going to score every possession before Crooks can get to half court. We set up a lot of plays. You sure? The women have played at a much faster pace than the men. The men are ranked 358th in the country in pace of play. Average field goal attempts per game:
Men- 52
Women- 59
Points per game:
Men - 80 (138th)
Women - 83 (18th)
They won't, but is Crooks a great defender anyways? I'd almost rather she be forced to run downcourt and then have to play defense where she has to expend more effort and pick up some fouls. That's probably the best way to impact her offensive game.I'm not saying they don't play with a higher pace than the men. She's not a great defender but she does help create less space. In the same way that McCabe and Kylie may not put up great offensive numbers but their constant movement and athleticism creates a lot of space on O.They won't, but is Crooks a great defender anyways? This isn’t just directed at you, but I’ve seen a lot of this 50/50 talk about the Iowa vs Iowa State women’s match-up. I think Iowa overall is simply/deeper better than the clones. I think Iowa wins rather handily (8+ points) despite the game being in Ames.UConn is going to be tough to win even at full strength. But, CyHawk is next week already, which is closer to a 50/50 matchup. Hopefully we have everyone available by then
Maybe, maybe not. I'd love it if you're right. But, as Hawkeye fans, we know the difference having the best player on the court can make, even if the rest of the roster on the other team is probably better. This isn’t just directed at you, but I’ve seen a lot of this 50/50 talk about the Iowa vs Iowa State women’s match-up. Because a lot of women’s teams don’t have athletic bigs (like Heiden and Stuelke) who can consistently run the court. Also Rutgers will probably be the worst shooting team we see all season. If "running Crooks ragged" is so easy, why haven't all the other teams done it? People like Crooks don't just stumble into 27ppg with a 73% FG percentage.
