Doesn't sound like we'll be getting anyone back for Rutgers, but I really hope we can get Chit-Chat back in time for Iowa St next week

Doesn't sound great. Chit Chat seems to be taking forever. Is it neck back issues or concussion?

The official sources have always said upper body, I have never read concussion except here
I think Jensen let it slip last night on her Hawk Talk radio show. Was discussing injuries and listing injuries she said "a back... or a concussion." Maybe a hypothetical, but it sure seemed like she was thinking directly about the current injuries she is dealing with. Might be as close as we get to actually knowing. Feel terrible for Wright, and hope it doesn't set her back too far. Seems like it might be mid- January before she is back on the same leading trajectory.

None of the 3 are even practicing as of yet. I would say we are a week at minimum for any to be back, and then probably limited minutes

It would be nice to at least have Chit-Chat back for the Dec. 20 battle with #1 UConn. Two weeks to go, so maybe . . .

And, of course, hoping Emely and Tiegen are back ASAP as well.

UConn is going to be tough to win even at full strength. But, CyHawk is next week already, which is closer to a 50/50 matchup. Hopefully we have everyone available by then

Hawks won’t miss her minutes on the floor during games, but she seems like a very good teammate and encourages others. Really too bab.

I recall hearing the word "protocols" earlier in the week regarding Chit Chat, so I figured a concussion was involved.
Yes I heard multiple step protocol as well. Describes concussion. I think the U of I, has like 6 steps of protocol to pass before your allowed back to practice/play

Talking about injuries:

I just saw that

Obviously not a huge loss, considering how little she played, but certainly a great bench cheerleader, and a body in practice

It doesn't matter who is available for that game.
Why do you think Lisa retired when Caitlin left? She knew we had our chance to win a national title with a generational player and a solid supporting cast. One that we will never be able to recruit or replicate again….thats the sad state of sports with NIL. NIL has given big brands/larger schools with big donors a MASSIVE advantage to stack the deck against lower revenue/NIL schools. If you don’t believe me look at the top teams in basketball and football and tell me that doesn’t correlate.

The fall just didn’t seem that hard. And it didn’t seem like she hit her head on the floor at all.

If you go back 30 seconds you will see Chat take a pretty hard hit on a legal screen. I always wondered it that was part of the injury.

I don't know that we are that far away. Addie D, Eva, Chat and McKenna are excellent players. If we strike gold in the portal or Emely makes progress we could be there again. Injuries can certainly change things but we are closer than farther.

You mean the same schools that were winning before NIL are still winning now? I don't see any measurable difference in results other than Indiana in football the last 2 seasons. And I'd like to wait a few years to see if they maintain it. Otherwise NIL has just made it more important than ever to keep an eye on the transfer portal. The traditional powerhouses now are just able to legally pay for players (and likely sweeten the pot under the table as well).

I thought Teagan just had tonsils out about 10 days ago. Isn't that enough time to get healed?

It's a lot rougher getting them out as an adult than a kid. With no complications, one can return to work/light walking after about 10 days. You are supposed to avoid anything that raises your blood pressure for 2 weeks.

The return to sports or strenuous activities is around 2-3 weeks depending on swelling and how scabs are healing. I'm thinking we will see Chat and Emely back before Teagan. Really hope we get Chat back before ISU!

Really? I don't think Iowa will beat #1 UConn THAT easily, but maybe . . .
I like your optimism here!
Though I don't share it for that particular game, I appreciate it in others😆

I will be there and have been trying to steel myself to not get too sad if it ends up BTA.

Pretty sure Geno remembers the last meeting--with Caitlin bouncing that inbounds pass off Paige's butt--with A LOT less glee than I do😂, and I don't think his petty *** will be feeling merciful...

Add to this that she has been off solid food for a couple weeks post-surgery. I had mine out at 20, it sucked.

It was the right call!
I will never forget Scott Van Pelt losing it on Sports Center right after game. A complete UCONN Homer complaining to EVERYONE he was interviewing/talking too. Would not let it go how you can never call that foul even though it was clearly a foul. The best angle was a camera on the otherside of the court where it was super easy to see the illegal screen.

Really? So, you don't think it would be advantageous for Iowa to at least make a strong showing. Could be a real confidence booster for Jan and company if we can make a game of it.
They only beat Michigan by 3 or 4. We have a better chance than what numbnuts think.
