You ever see what your friends on here call me and accuse me of? This is a parent/child/doctor issue. Not a leftist, overreaching issue. I’m not fazed by your bs. I know who I am.

Btw if chopping a little boys junk off or putting them on life altering drugs is a “parents choice” for the welfare of their child how isn’t this?
Derp, Dems are chopping off the weenies!

"No trans or gender-diverse (TGD) youth under 12 years old received any gender-affirming surgeries, researchers noted, and the rare few that were performed on 13-17-year-olds were almost exclusively chest-related procedures. The numbers demonstrate that “concerns around high rates of gender-affirming surgery use [...] may be unwarranted,” researchers determined."

well, let this doctor advise her patients get the shot at birth. Seems like an easy solution
He's also a senator btw. Yeah, that's fine man but he can't be the doctor for everyone so the bigger point is the recommendation should have never changed because we know it's safe and effective. Anti-science for the dumbest Americans shouldn't be coming from our own government institutions, especially from a panel of quacks. This does not MAHA

well I'm not for or against the recommendations. Looking factually, it seems as if one set of experts see this one way and a second see it a different way. I'm not an expert so I really don't know either way which experts are right and which are wrong. But, I'm pretty good at research and there's plenty of data in the public domain.

I don't know if you're an expert on vaccines and Hepititus specifically or are just against anything Kennedy might propose. But somewhat like the COVID vaccines, this seems like spinning the chambers of a revolver and hoping for the best. In other issues we seem fine with keeping the government out of decisions about what to do with our bodies. The government makes the recommendations and individuals make the decisions. I know I do this every year with flu, pneumonia, Hepititus, shingles.

If you don't like the recommendation on the vaccine, ignore it.

No, the real experts only see it one way and with 35 years of data, we know it's safe and effective. RFK Jr does not have a medical background and he fired all respected panelists only to replace them with quacks. Parents will ignore it now that this has come out, just like they ignored recommendations for measles and whooping cough that quickly led to deaths. It's shameful that this is considered sound advice from the top of our government.

The levels of expertise, quantity/quality of experts, all other pediatric boards, and sheer amount of data and research on either of those "sides" of experts are not the same Ned.

What if I told you that research was funded by pharmaceutical companies that manufacture vaccines.

I would tell you they are still peer reviewed and that the smartest medical professionals in the world aren’t that easily duped particularly having 35 years of data. Would also tell you that many of the “doctors” on the other side of the argument are supported by Big Wellness which far exceeds Big Pharma.

What if I told you it's actually public/private partnerships funded by a variety of sources including the NIH and universities along with the pharmaceutical companies. Regardless, they still have to go through safety trials and need FDA approval before they can be administered.

All the more reason each person should have the autonomy to choose. Perhaps I trust big pharma implicitly, that doesn’t mean I’m right or that others should as well.

Dude, stop with the false choices. It's not like parents were forced to go vaccinate on the recommended schedule before so stop acting like suddenly they have autonomy.

Were you forced to get the Covid vaccine?

Were you forced to get the Covid vaccine?
I thought the same thing. I don't understand all the turmoil. The DC panel recommended a change to the schedule. It doesn't stop parents from administering it on birth. The CDC didn't direct anything.

I equate it to the recommendation for annual flu shots. They recommend it, but only about 39% of Americans get it and yet, according to CDC, thousands die of flu or flu related illness each year. And, just about 35% of Americans recommended by CDC for Hepatitus vaccinations actually get them.

So I really doubt that the CDC is "wantonly killing babies"

I wasn’t forced but I was told if I didn’t get it I would be “voluntarily terminated”. I kept the email, I guess I was forced.

Then what’s the problem? If it was optional nothings changed. These are the type of people that are making policy.

I still am having a difficult time with this. Someone explain how castrating a little boy, lopping off a teenage girls breasts or giving them life altering hormonal drugs is a “parent/child/doctor” issue but this isn’t. Most of you condone that and tell everyone that doesn’t agree to mind their own business, quit being transphobic and quit being a nazi because it makes the person happy. Boil that down - it’s ok to castrate a child because it may make them happy … no science, no formal physician panels, nothing but feelings. Yet postponing a damn STD shot for newborn babies is a bridge too far. You’ve all lost your minds.

Haven’t read the entire thread, but recommending the hep B vaccine for a brand new baby born from parents who are not drug users, do not interact with needle sharing losers and from a mom who already tested negative is fvcking stupid.

Some recommendations are made for the lowest common denominator among us. I have absolutely no interest in applying a recommendation for the lowest common denominator to my family.

Do what people like RFK or Rachel Levine determine how you care for your child? They don’t for me or anyone I know for that matter, and never have. Anti-vax isn’t new, there’s an entire community called the Amish that are anti-vax that have been here for centuries. I think we should be allowed to do what we feel is best for our children.

To win an argument when cornered, whip out the trannies! You get to claim all kinds of nonsense, like they're castrating little boys, even though this absolutely is NOT happening.

You have always been allowed to do what you think best (within reason) . My question is: if the recommendations don't matter, why did they change it?

if they haven't been vaccinated, how are they still alive? From this thread I would have thought that the Hepatitus vaccine at birth was essential to life?

Do Amish communities get vaccinated?

Amish people do get vaccinated, but their vaccine uptake does tend to be lower than the wider population due to certain aspects of their lifestyle—namely living in remote communities and rejecting many modern technologies.

But there is evidence that they don’t “refuse all vaccines”. In 2011, researchers surveyed 359 Amish parents in Ohio and found that 85% accepted some immunisations for their children, with 68% saying all of their children had received at least one.

A 2021 survey of the same settlement found that, ten years later, that number had dropped to 41%.

Stop. You're supposed to be the one who can have a good faith conversation.
He’s simply observing and reacting to the rigidity that is the Democratic Party and liberals in general. There’s simply no discussion. I lasted about a month in here trying to be reasonable and have conversations, only to be threatened, called every disgusting thing you can imagine, being told they hope my wife and children die…. It’s insanity. Any deviation from total commitment to the party line is met with vile rhetoric and even behavior in some cases. I find very little on the left tolerant or inclusive, quite the opposite.

trying to have a rational conversations. Relook the title of this post,, "RFK wantonly kill babies now"..I can't believe anyone could find that to be an honest reflection of the panel's recommendations.

I agree that the title is sensationalist but the bulk of the comments from "the left" in this thread have not been.

@MTTiger19, you keep avoiding this question. Please help me understand why they'd change a recommendation that doesn't matter.
Now, I don't know for a fact, but I would guess that some on the panel believe in the RFK vaccine theory, and that giving the vaccination at birth is either unnecessary or dangerous, others believe the just need to do something for the sake of doing something,. I seriously doubt if the purpose is to "wantonly kill babies". Or, like MTT posted, it might just be political.

Why do people/panels/governments make any recommendations?

They put them into risk categories, higher risk child gets vaccines immediately based on what I can find. If they’re low risk there’s an option to delay the initial dose. Risk is determined by many factors but mainly mother’s health I believe. This is my minimal understanding of the change.
