I would think that the bolw in Las Vegas is pretty high on the list. against whom, though? one projection said Washington. I did not not know we could play someone in our own conference.

The former Pac teams still have ties with the bowls for that conference for 1 more season i believe so they can still play in them. Alamo, Independence, Holiday, LA, Las Vegas, and Sun bowls.

thx. so, at least in theory, some teams could have a rematch of a game played the same year? It sounds possible, but highly unlikely.

You bring up a very good point. That said, a lot of the Iowa players have still participated in the bowls. I don’t care what other teams do.
I look at it as a showcase for the up and coming. I don't get back to Iowa for games much, and it's a family affair going to bowls. You can win a bowl and get a lift going into next season. Playoffs? 1 happy team and 11 disappointed ones...

Yeah that’s weird to me playing an opponent from the same conference

These are the bowl tie-ins for the B10 this year:

CFP selection(s)
------------------
Citrus Bowl (highest non-CFP team, *exceptions can be and have been made) vs SEC; Orlando, FL
ReliaQuest Bowl (old Outback Bowl) vs SEC; Tampa, FL
Las Vegas Bowl vs former Pac 12/Big 12/SEC; Las Vegas, NV
Music City Bowl vs SEC; Nashville, TN
Pinstripe Bowl vs ACC; New York City
Rate Bowl (old Copper Bowl) vs Big 12; Phoenix, AZ
GameAbove Sports Bowl (old Little Caesars Bowl) vs MAC; Detroit, MI

My projections:

CFP- Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon

Citrus Bowl- Michigan vs Texas
*Alamo Bowl- USC vs BYU
ReliaQuest Bowl- Iowa vs Vanderbilt
Las Vegas Bowl- Illinois vs Utah
*Holiday Bowl- Washington vs Arizona State
Music City Bowl- Penn State vs LSU
Pinstripe Bowl- Minnesota vs Wake Forest
Rate Bowl- Nebraska vs Iowa State
GameAbove Sports Bowl- Northwestern vs Miami (OH)

*old Pac 12 bowl tie-ins, which will help to fill spots given that there will be 12 bowl-eligible B10 teams

There's actually a very good chance that game happens if Iowa State wins and we beat Nebraska.

Iowa State was just in the goofy a** Pop Tarts Bowl, so I doubt they'd get picked over a few other teams ahead of them in the standings. They've also been to the Liberty Bowl several times recently, and I don't think the Texas Bowl scoops them up, but they'd be the most likely competition. ISU hasn't been to the former Insight Bowl since 2009, and Nebraska has never been, so it would be a fresh destination for both fanbases, and a matchup that hasn't happened in 15 years.

I think the Hawks end up in Vegas.
The problem there is the ReliaQuest Bowl picks before the Las Vegas Bowl, if I remember correctly, and with the Pac 12 schools most likely heading to their former tie-ins, especially with the B10 having so many bowl-eligible teams this year, I think there isn't really anyone else the old Outback Bowl will take over a potential 8-4 Iowa.

I agree with what you say. I said Vegas because I think Nebraska wins on Friday.

Yeah, yeah. I know the Hawks have beaten them every year but one the past 14 years or whatever, but this is an improved Husker team (even without mini Mahomes), and it’s in Lincoln. I don’t care what Vegas says.

Still….I don’t think it’s a “lock” and would like nothing more than for the Hawks to lay the wood.
