PuhleaseAnd Iowa….who’s equally as good as many of the SEC teams you’re boasting about.
I am reading just fine. You just change the goal posts with each post. 1. Predictions are making judgments about a future that is unknown, especially when the variables are in constant flux. I think that is stupid and why I do not gamble. 2, What I said that started this descent into a rabbit hole is that is James has an easier path to the playoffs at VT because the ACC until now has been weaker. If he gets the resources he is asking for and recruits to the level he is capable of recruiting he will have an easier path to the playoffs and with more teams getting in the likelihood of MAKING the playoffs go up. 4. I invite you reread your own post. "It's about a clear separation between the haves and have nots." And that is correct. But somehow you are unable to process that with revenue sharing and the ability to infuse a great deal of cash into a team, a team that is a have not (e.g., Texas Tech) may become a have in a blink of an eye. Texas Tech, for example, has gone to #8 nationally on the AP poll in one year. Does it mean that they will win? Maybe, Maybe not. But how can anyone predict that they would be unable to win in the future if they continue on this trajectory? Just because a) they are not in a given conference or b) their logos are not that of a traditional blue blood? I have been around to see this happen. Growing up Oklahoma and Nebraska were at the pinnacle of the sport; then was eclipsed by Miami. Somehow you are willing to predict that this is impossible to happen (less than 1 in 50). So, no, I think it is idiotic to try and predict the future when there so many variables at play. In any case,, I am done with this. You're not reading. I didn't say everyone's chances were worse. Words matter. It's not about logos. It's about a clear separation between the haves and have nots. Just like no one is picking the MAC to win a title.
Those schools will never win a title unless they move to the SEC or Big Ten and are prepared for the hard playoff run.
All bets are predictions and ideally educated ones. Why wouldn't you bet on it? The ACC won 2 titles in 10 years of a 4 team playoff and you claimed they have better odds now.

Franklin had lost the team. Get rid of him and start fresh. The season was lost and why deny the inevitable. The more to the story is how utterly clueless Franklin was on issues we thought he was at least somewhat competent on like managing NIL resources, leading a lockeroom and managing egos. Beyond that no one wanted to see his clueless face anymore staring into space as we get boat raced by OSU and Indiana.I still believe there is more to this story yet to be revealed. Dismissing JF when they did put the school and the program in a worse situation than waiting until the end of the season. Why do that to yourself unless there was a compelling reason(s) other than winning a football game?
I've been mulling this over the past couple days. First impression was, if true, and assuming the 30 mil is yearly funds, "that's a lotta coin." But, I just looked at NFL salary caps. There is not one team below $260 mil in salary cap. Not one. So from that perspective, $30 mil is "chump change." I can see where the "standard" to build a college team is going to be $50 mil NIL per year. Insane. One other element that I have no insider information on but that has been mentioned is that Franklin and Kraft were not on the same page with stadium renovations and that Franklin asked for money for NIL that Kraft did not have to give. I cannot confirm this, IF and I mean IF this is true then Franklin could very well have checked out even before the season as he did not think he could compete in the modern day arms race for talent. By all accounts, part of his current negotiations with schools that are interested in him is that they commit 30m in NIL/portal funds.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Texas Tech with a couple more years of buying what they need. But whatever happens, its hard to imagine someone would be dumb enough to say it’s impossible for an ACC or Big 12 school to win a championship. It wouldn’t take very long for a school with almost unlimited money and in a great area for HS recruiting to start contending. To win a NC they need other pieces but it’s certainly not impossible.I am reading just fine. You just change the goal posts with each post. 1. I agree about Franklin and Va Tech although it would be interesting to hear him sidestep the issue of why he hasn't won a NC at Va Tech ten years in (when he said he was going to win one at his next gig) and only has a couple playoff appearances. It will be interesting to see what happens with Texas Tech with a couple more years of buying what they need. But whatever happens, its hard to imagine someone would be dumb enough to say it’s impossible for an ACC or Big 12 school to win a championship. I think the championship talk with Franklin at VT isn’t really relevant. As long as he would make it to the playoff every few years when their schedule is favorable then he would be considered a success by the school and most of those fans and would probably last a long time there. Being a failure has a different meaning depending on the school.
Never is an awful long time. Someone will, eventually, either because they caught lightning in a bottle, got a favorable playoff draw or the CFB format changed to boost their chances.Read all posts but yes I don't believe an ACC team will ever win a title. No one outside the Big Ten/SEC/ND.
Which doesn't alter the narrative or Penn State wrong which is allegedly his goal.It will be interesting to see what happens with Texas Tech with a couple more years of buying what they need. I’m not the guy commenting on every post in every thread acting like I’m the only one that’s right. There's plenty of people smarter than be on countless topics--I comprehend that--try it
Missouri, LSU, Florida, Miss St., UK, Auburn, SC, and Arkansas. I would say that’s many.Puhlease
I comment on every post in every thread? Might want to research that...I’m not the guy commenting on every post in every thread acting like I’m the only one that’s right.
Iowa would be favored against how many of those teams on a neutral site?Missouri, LSU, Florida, Miss St., UK, Auburn, SC, and Arkansas. I would say that’s many.
You post way too much in way too many threads. Your endless arrogance is annoying.I comment on every post in every thread? Might want to research that...
Likely five of them and I wouldn’t consider any of those a big win. The point is the SEC is not the juggernaut you’re making it out to be…they have good teams and some not so good teams just like the Big Ten.Iowa would be favored against how many of those teams on a neutral site?
When is Iowa's last big win?
You said every post in every thread which is falsely. Your opinion on what I allegedly do is irrelevant. You being annoyed isn't a bad thing. You post way too much in way too many threads. Your endless arrogance is annoying.
You're delusional if you think they'd be favored on a neutral site.Likely five of them and I wouldn’t consider any of those a big win. The point is the SEC is not the juggernaut you’re making it out to be…they have good teams and some not so good teams just like the Big Ten.
And you underselling a team is an old act that you hang on to like a crack ***** holds on to a pipe. You're delusional if you think they'd be favored on a neutral site.
The SEC is the deepest conference right now. That doesn't mean they don't have bad teams but you overselling a bad Iowa team trying to make a point doesn't work.
How am I underselling Iowa? And you underselling a team is an old act that you hang on to like a crack ***** holds on to a pipe.
No it’s about you underselling teams so if anyone you don’t think is good beats them, you can say they haven’t beaten anyone. How am I underselling Iowa?
They've beat Minnesota, Wisconsin, Rutgers and a team that's winless in conference play along with UMass and Albany. If they beat USC this weekend then make an argument but Iowa isn't very good--and haven't been so in years. This is about you trying to hype up bad teams because "if you win 8 games you're good" nonsense.
You just think mediocre is goodNo it’s about you underselling teams so if anyone you don’t think is good beats them, you can say they haven’t beaten anyone.
If so, good for him. I'm not at all worried about competing against James at VA TechRumor has it is that Franklin gets announced at Virginia Tech today and they’re giving him huge resources to go out and build a team. He’s going to be a thorn in our side.
I hope so, buy out will probably be completely gone and while he will recruit our areas against us, he needs to win early just like our new guy needs toRumor has it is that Franklin gets announced at Virginia Tech today and they’re giving him huge resources to go out and build a team. He’s going to be a thorn in our side.
OSU & ND recruited our areas against JF anyway.I hope so, buy out will probably be completely gone and while he will recruit our areas against us, he needs to win early just like our new guy needs to
So did fing Mizzou and actually beat Franklin for a qb last year.OSU & ND recruited our areas against JF anyway.
You just think there are only about five good teams in the country. You just think mediocre is good
If we beat Oregon or Ohio State we'd beat a good team. Iowa isn't good.
Correct...there's very few good teamsYou just think there are only about five good teams in the country.
He's actually going to be more of a gnat.....not to PSU, but more to Pitt and WVU. To be even moderately successful, BGJ needs to get over his ex-marriage to PSU.Rumor has it is that Franklin gets announced at Virginia Tech today and they’re giving him huge resources to go out and build a team. lol. More like many PSU fans need to get over their ex-marriage to Franklin. The number of dumbasses still raging on him is pretty warped. They can’t just wish him well and move on. They are still obsessed with him. He lives rent free in their heads. He's actually going to be more of a gnat.....not to PSU, but more to Pitt and WVU. No one is obsessed with Franklin other than the loyalists that think the move was stupid.lol. More like many PSU fans need to get over their ex-marriage to Franklin. lol. There are many obsessed. I’m ready to see who we hire and what the future holds, though not expecting it to all be rainbows and unicorns. No one is obsessed with Franklin other than the loyalists that think the move was stupid.
I wish James well. Rebuilding VA Tech is a challenge. One he'll likely do well enough to make them respectable in a weak ACC
The season is still occurring, therefore, the creator of this crappiness will still deservedly receive some credit.lol. More like many PSU fans need to get over their ex-marriage to Franklin. I disagree. The ACC will be up for grabs, year in and year out. Win the conference or 11 games and off you go to the playoffs with unbridled optimism. It's not necessarily about winning a title. It's about THINKING you can.
And regardless the move was necessarylol. There are many obsessed. I’m ready to see who we hire and what the future holds, though not expecting it to all be rainbows and unicorns.
