Can't change our vote?Just wanted to do a poll
Look what Coaching is doing for the following { and less or similar NIL than us} : Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Utah, UCF, Illinois, etc
Says who???? No one knows the numbers on anythingWe have the worst NIL in P4, but don't let that fact get in your way.
Says who???? No one knows the numbers on anything
a google search found this what asked if Rutgers NIL spending is the worst of all P-4 programsSays who???? No one knows the numbers on anything
Estimates used as absolutes never worka google search found this what asked if Rutgers NIL spending is the worst of all P-4 programs
>Yes, based on reported estimates from late 2024, Rutgers football has been identified as having the
lowest NIL spending among all Big Ten programs and is generally considered to be at or near the bottom of the Power 4 conferences in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) funding.
Specific estimates from December 2024 placed Rutgers' total NIL spending for the 2024 period at approximately $3.6 million, which was significantly lower than the top spender in the Big Ten (Ohio State at over $20 million) and the bottom spender in the SEC (Mississippi State at over $6.4 million).
This low NIL funding has been well-documented as a significant challenge for the program, particularly in the competitive landscape of the transfer portal where schools with robust NIL budgets can offer guaranteed money to attract players. Reports from October 2025 indicate that the Rutgers athletic department is actively working to improve its NIL situation to better compete with its Big Ten peers<
But they can give you an idea of what's going on and no one will ever accuse Rutgers of being a top spender on players since they started playing major college football at the end of the Frank Burns era.Estimates used as absolutes never work
AgreeWe were outclassed against Oregon, no question.
Washington has better talent depth, but we could have played them closer on our best night with some improved performances and coaching.
At no point during the games against Iowa, Minnesota or Illinois did we look overmatched from a talent perspective. Better coaching wins all three of those games in my opinion.
WrongWe have the worst NIL in P4, but don't let that fact get in your way.
our NIL is fine, not super, but adequate vs our peers. We have the money for a buyout of Greg per Richie, our resources, infrastructure, etc etc are all more than adequate to have a winning programWrong
Our 2024 & 2025 NIL is higher than many programs. Don’t let facts get in your way. Doofus

Bingo.our NIL is fine, not super, but adequate vs our peers. We have the money for a buyout of Greg per Richie, our resources, infrastructure, etc etc are all more than adequate to have a winning program
the issue is Greg sucks
here is the kicker,Bingo.
Some clueless buffoon Poster said we have the lowest NIL in all P4. Wrong
We are funded equally with our mid level peers. The problem is the HC is not a B1G caliber Coach. The sooner he is jettisoned the better the Program will become.
This. Talent hasn't been the issue in the losses outside of Oregon. RU actually beat Washington and Minnesota last year, and would have beaten Illinois without the "ice the kicker" bs. The defense has been abysmal this season, and it's a coaching problem. Even average coaching beats Iowa and Minnesota. With average coaching, the Illinois and Washington games are at least competitive. We were outclassed against Oregon, no question.

Iowa is a great example of this. They are a 6.5 point underdog against Oregon with nowhere near the talent. Their coach has a system and they recruit toward it. They get great offensive line talent for sure and always have strong defense and special teams.This. Talent hasn't been the issue in the losses outside of Oregon. our resources must be tied up in BTC. Everyone in the B1G is outspending us. Why do you think it’s more than adequate to have a winning program?our NIL is fine, not super, but adequate vs our peers. That link is ridiculous. They have Rutgers listed with higher NIL than Indiana, and we all know that's far from reality.Wrong

Nice article in the Athletic on tweaks they made after letting Ferentz’ son go and bringing Tim Lester on board.Iowa is a great example of this. that's not even remotely true in fact, we're one of the bigger spendersour resources must be tied up in BTC. Everyone in the B1G is outspending us. Why do you think it’s more than adequate to have a winning program?
Please elaboratethat's not even remotely true in fact, we're one of the bigger spenders
the numbers have been posted here many times. From NIL, to athletics expenditures, to facilities, etc etc etc....you guys are looking for excuses in all the wrong placesPlease elaborate
Please show me where? I need to see RU ranked in the top half of the B1G.the numbers have been posted here many times. From NIL, to athletics expenditures, to facilities, etc etc etc....you guys are looking for excuses in all the wrong places
we suck because our head coach sucks, not due to lack of resources, facilities, or interest
We aren't mid-level.Bingo.

It will be interesting to see if Oregon stomps Iowa the way they stomped RU.Iowa is a great example of this. They are a 6.5 point underdog against Oregon with nowhere near the talent. Their coach has a system and they recruit toward it. They get great offensive line talent for sure and always have strong defense and special teams.
Where have you been for the last 40 years? Did you imagine that with our history of alumni giving that suddenly tens of thousands of previously disengaged ppl who wouldn't give to the R fund or the Big Ten build or the endowment started to secretly donate to NIL? We'd have a better chance of Greg finding a magic money fountain in a broom closet.Says who???? No one knows the numbers on anything
That is per player for new Recruits for 2024 & 2025 ( you can toggle that year}. It’s not for Transfers. Fact is we are not on the bottom of P4 for NIL …not even close. Many winning with much less. Our Coaching puts us a huge disadvantage. That link is ridiculous. They have Rutgers listed with higher NIL than Indiana, and we all know that's far from reality.
Fact is we are last in the B1G. It’s well documented that RU ranks last in alumni donations. That is per player for new Recruits for 2024 & 2025 ( you can toggle that year}. It’s not for Transfers. Schools can pay players now so it’s not just 3rd party NIL or collectives, which will likely shrink somewhat in the future with 3rd party deals needing to be “legitimate.” Mind you some will paint outside the lines as always but players risk eligibility if discovered.Fact is we are last in the B1G. It’s well documented that RU ranks last in alumni donations.
