That is a fireable coaching decision

It's disturbing (well, slightly) how many judge the play call by its 1 in a 1,000 (bizarre-super-ricochet-and-perfect-bounce-to-a-running-defender) outcome. If he makes the kick, KF would be lauded for finally having enough aggression, letting a player with a super gift try to break a record and extend our lead. And if it just missed or was blocked and recovered for no score, all would be fine.

And using KF's over the top self-deprecating retrospect analysis as proof is silly. That's his nature. If Drew made it, or just missed he wouldn't have said one negative thing. He obviously didn't think it was a HORRIBLE call or he wouldn't have made it in the first place.
So true.
It's the classic "told you so" (non) logic we all learn at like age 5.

The Iowa player didn't block the PSU guy who scored, didn't really need to since he was coming around the outside and wouldn't get to the kick in time to block it.

The PSU guy who actually blocked the kick simply overpowered the Iowa blocker, pushed him back a few yards and got his hand up. That Iowa player was on his butt, so he clearly wasn't running down field.

Yes I know, it appears the PSU player who scored should have been blocked because of the .01% the defender would have the ball BOUNCE RIGHT UP TO HIS HANDS

And do we even know if PSU had a guy back to receive?
I believe they did have a guy back to receive. I noticed it before the timeout was called, so I assume they kept him back there.

The first ball Drew kicked was about 15 yards too short. I guarantee you our guys were told to focus on the ball being short and make sure it is not recovered and run back.
