We hope the market will correct, yes? There is no reason to give Rhule an extension at this point, if someone else wants him so be it.
more replacements are becoming available as we move along this season.

Can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube when it comes to coaches pay. But we do control what we pay Rhule and I don’t think it needs to be increased over the contract he has. He isn’t worth additional right now.We hope the market will correct, yes?

Could you use a different word please? Are you ambivalent?
I’m so confused why he didn’t stay put one more year and become a head coach.Lol at Tony White
Ummm… we already do that here (immediately) if the coach isn’t a product of program inbreedingIt’s going to turn into nfl where coaches are all recycled through different programs. Fans will be perpetually mad with who the new hire is. Gonna suck
I mean in general. NFL teams hire fired coaches all the time. There’s just a lot of turnover and a small pool of people. College will become that shortly. Guys like Napier, Lincoln Riley, Brian Kelly, Franklin will get fired and land on their feet at another good to great program. People will ***** that they couldn’t win somewhere else so why should we hire him? And it’ll happen over and over.Ummm… we already do that here (immediately) if the coach isn’t a product of program inbreeding
He is not wrong thoughIs that the same booger eating, fat a$$ from Missouri?
seems like Penn State stealing rhule from us and then we hire the asu coach is inevitable at this point.
it's just the way the system is now
Why do you believe Dillingham will leave his Alma mater? I could see him doing it only for an opportunity to coach in the Big Ten or SEC, advance past JV conference big 12seems like Penn State stealing rhule from us and then we hire the asu coach is inevitable at this point.

There isn't a true market in college football because it is upset by donations...these coaches are basically being paid to go away, not provide a service. Nebraska football is popular because of two coaches and a whole bunch of great players who weren't paid fairly for the wealth they created and the coaches who have come along just have to convince one AD that they are worthy...these schools sell out seats whether they win or not, there isn't a pure correlation between success and income. Why a coach who has never won a trophy, doesn't coach a position or call plays, is .500 in his career at small market places like Temple and Baylor and had just been forced out of his previous job mid-season could command an 80 million contract and a huge buyout is so non-sensical...we are seeing the transition from such ridiculous contracts to smaller ones in the future but it will take at least the rest of this decade. We hope the market will correct, yes?
asu pays him like 5.8 million where NU would probably double that, I mean the guy just beat the nil poster child texas tech..Why do you believe Dillingham will leave his Alma mater? I could see him doing it only for an opportunity to coach in the Big Ten or SEC, advance past JV conference big 12
I think we can get someone much better for $12 million a year. I don’t see him having sustained success at ASU or anywhere else for that matter.asu pays him like 5.8 million where NU would probably double that, I mean the guy just beat the nil poster child texas tech..
I understand penn states desire for their own, rhule, to push them pass the glass ceiling with endless nil..
so really it works out for all parties involved
Dillingham will not leave ASU and Nebraska is not paying him 12 million to come. The Big 12 is probably overrated again. Cincinnati has not liaise since the Nebraska game.asu pays him like 5.8 million where NU would probably double that, I mean the guy just beat the nil poster child texas tech..

He didn’t get the ball across.Did you see the end of the Florida State at Stanford game last night? Watch it if you have not. Crazy ending. I think the Florida State player most likely got the ball across the goal line on the last play, but once it was called short there was not enough conclusive evidence to overturn the call.
Andrew Luck makes a great cheerleader.
well then matt cambell, whatever worksHe didn’t get the ball across.
Napier had been on thin ice and Florida already decided to fire him (most likely weeks ago after losing three in a row). Florida has a bye week coming up and that was what the powers that be were waiting for.He is not wrong though
Put you name in with all the vacancies say you’ll work for 500,000 see how many interviews you get, a please keep everyone posted on which schools callI'd coach this F*ck!ng Nebraska team for only 500k/year and get as good or better results.![]()
Guess you don't know what sarcasm is.Put you name in with all the vacancies say you’ll work for 500,000 see how many interviews you get, a please keep everyone posted on which schools call
Yes. Booger DanielsIs that the same booger eating, fat a$$ from Missouri?
Still amazed PSU fired Franklin. IF Franklin would come here and we didn’t have to buy out Rhule, I’ll say fire Rhule today. As it is though, I’m for standing with the cards we have for the foreseeable future.Has something like a $60M buyout.
Penn State supposedly had a single booster pay for the Franklin buyout at $49M.
That is a crap ton of money to fire a guy, and then to hire a new guy at likely at least $10M per season.
Penn State has the money. Not sure that Florida State boosters will line up for that kind of cash.
And most of those guys were on the short list of posters on this board….Norvell and soon to be Fickel are just more examples in a LONG line of former AAC coaches who simply cannot make that jump to the big time. Scott Frost, Charlie Strong, Justin Fuente, Tom Herman, Chad Morris, Willie Taggart, Geoff Collins.
There might be others, but that's a bunch already. Don't these effing AD's do their due diligence? Its like, believe it or not, ONLY Kirby Smart is a Capricorn that has been a really successsful coach at the big time level. It would amaze you, that for whatever reason, Capricorn are lousy coaches. True. LOL
Better yet. First question from an AD to a head coaching resume'. "What's your sign?"
I’m not sure that’s the case. Why would you hire Rhule and pay him the 12 Million it would take to match his cotract tail with us. They could hire coordinators from successful P4 programs or FCS head coaches who have won.If 10 spots come open, which is likely, Rhule is on more than a few lists.
The entire money deal, well I said what I thought of it.
Except that it's worse than the NFL in that at least the worst teams get higher picks in the draft. In college football, Ryan Day at Ohio State gets to sign an entire class of players higher touted than maybe one or two of some of the teams on his schedule. It’s going to turn into nfl where coaches are all recycled through different programs. Fans will be perpetually mad with who the new hire is. Gonna suck
After the game on Friday, it's not a crazy idea.At this point I'm almost hoping PSU wants Rhule and here's a very crazy thought which will probably turn many stomachs but I'll throw it out there anyway, hire P.J. Fleck he only knows how to win, something we seem to have a hard time doing. P.J. Fleck's buy out is only about 26 million I believe and I know it would be a hard pill for many to swallow but the winning would cure many ills.
Yes just gotta go poach the coaches at the conference that Cignetti played for...The Sun BeltNorvell and soon to be Fickel are just more examples in a LONG line of former AAC coaches who simply cannot make that jump to the big time. It's interesting because I don't think he was thought of that highly at Syracuse. Then at FSU he's pretty mid. I wonder if he's a better fit in the BIG. Or was it just his defenses didn't play very good offenses.I’m so confused why he didn’t stay put one more year and become a head coach.
and then he took the Nebraska job.
and then I was confused he didn’t stay put one more year and become a head coach.
And then he took the Florida state job.
What an impatient dude when staying put would have gotten him to the role he wanted.
