The $ is insane and we will never compete. Give money to cancer research or renewable energy. Paying $30 million to field a fb team is criminal and despicable. I'll watch but don't care.
Not sure I would go that far. But it sure as hell ain't the same as it was. And I can fully sympathize with anyone who says this is not what I signed up for.

My thing is; if you don't care, fine, you don't want to contribute? Cool but when they actually find some donors and start spending big on football don't come and protest, talking about what else the money can be used for. Trying to ruin it for everyone else, seems like most of the problems in life come from people wanting everyone to feel and think the same way they feel and think..just move on to whatever interest or hobbies you take up next ..

Where the fv*k have you been, NJ already does, which is why there's no money for NIL they don't care about sports.

Rutgers doesn’t belong in the B1G with schools who have been investing in athletics for a half a century or more. And if we go to AAC or a similar lower level FBS conference we lose too much money. So FCS seems like the rightful place for RU.

we’re investing 6.5 million a year on a **** coach.

invest half of that on a decent coach and we’re in a better spot

That doesn't make any sense, why not build a better football program to compete in the B1G? Is that not an option? What kind of energy is this? Holy 💩 is the board suffering from low T? What's the pills that Frank Thomas and Doug Flutie sell? And she'll like it too lol

Good luck. I’d love that. I won’t hold my breath though. Been waiting since my frosh year in 1997 when we were 0-11. I moved out of state several years ago and gave up my tickets so luckily I don’t sit through these beatings anymore. i feel bad for those who still choose to and would love a turnaround for the fans and alumni.

Not low T just reality. But I do realize that the be AD didn't come here for us to go to a lower division. Hate to say it but she took the job, no time to get adjusted, after this game she is on the clock

They don't have to they just need to find a coach that will bring the right kind of energy..this team could have been good, they have talent...too many times tonight it looked like the defense wasn't prepared for even just the formations Oregon was lining up in, like they watched no film.

Everyone else's offense looks exciting and innovative Rutgers looks as if they are running a highschool playbook, the defense looks lost, I was never a fire schiano guy but this was a bad showing, I did not expect them to bear Oregon but at least expected the team to approach the game as if they were going to win... schiano giving sideline interviews talking about he just wants the team to be physical. Bs that sounds like one of the defeated posters in this board..new energy is required..it's time.

The offense has been a bright spot.

Rutgers is in the B1G, it benefits everyone if the football team becomes a winning program. Maybe it's time to stop being afraid you won't be able to find a better coach and go find a better coach..
Unless you give him money to buy players, you could hire Bill Parcells and it wouldn't matter. Exhibit 1 being the situation in UNC. We do not have this money, nor will we ever have this money.

The absolute best we could ever hope for is (1) a unified SuperConference of professional college football forms, (2) by some miracle, Rutgers is invited to join, and (3) there is a hard salary cap. Other than that? We're just dicking around.

EDIT: By the way, I notice we haven't seen a lot of recent posts by Rutgers 1000 Man-of-the-Decade Geo Baker. Shouldn't he be all over New Brunswick teaching our 5 star recruits how to open t-shirt businesses and host 8th grade sports camps?

Not really. Michigan is only example.
A very clueless statement. Penn State has…Texas has, Georgia has, Texas A&M has, Notre Dame has, USC has, Florida has, Virginia has, Stanford has…there are other excellent schools with billions in research dollars and rope end academics that have also excelled as ADs (overall athletics)

His collective didn't work out, he made an effort. The school will be making new nil efforts now, go eat some steak and do some push ups lol giving up should never be an option in anything...also Geo Baker is a young man, much younger than I am, he was in the boards to promote his nil efforts not to have a good time and socialize..

Mods. No need to go back to Greg’s first hire but I have a question. Many are saying fire Greg he makes too much money and hire someone cheaper. When GS 2.0 happened where there “up and comers” banging down our ADs door looking for a chance knowing our NIL situation. This is not a pro Greg post, I am done with him just wondering how easy an up and comer would be this time around? Easier maybe with the promise of better NIL to work with

NIL isn't worth it until the NIL money starts coming in
Nobody on here, including I, knows if we'll ever get significant donors / corporations on board

What I do know is two things:
1. Hobbs dropped the ball and Zinn is working her tail off to make this a reality, but is way behind the 8 ball
2. If Zinn comes through, it'll be more than worth it

More NIL still won’t let us compete against OsU, Um, Ore, PSU, usc. Those schools will always out resource us. So sort of agree, it is kind of pointless

All the talent and nil money does not make up for sub par coaching. There are many examples of that you can point to…sure GS was an adequate hire after the ****ery that was ash…but he is not the solution to get RU to better than 8 wins even with a magical field house and nil cash for the state employees that play games at a semi pro level…oh Im sorry ”student athletes”

full stop, this is absolute nonsense and people like you really should just get some perspective or stfu. this is a level of dumb no one needs

we actually finished ahead of USC, Nebraska, Mich St, Purdue, and others last year. RU absolutely belongs, not everyone is OSU or Michigan. Hell, we're tied with PSU right now, think they don't belong?

I swear to God, between the fans that think Greg is good and people like you, you all are pure embarrassments to anyone with common fking sense!
