If you were AD Zinn.. at what point do you calculate you are in trouble if football and basketball disappoint? How many years?
Now.. if you buy out the coaches and put your picks in.. at what point would you be on the hot-seat as AD having YOUR choices disappoint?
I think the smartest thing she can do is be patient.. she has some room as these coaches were not her choices. Some years down the line, maybe she gets more pressure at the same time the buyouts are less and it is easier to make a move. Then the clock starts again on any hot-seat talk.
Everyone says she is smart.. well, that's the smart move.
As for me.. I think it is going to take time for this whole NIL thing to shake out and programs like ours finds how to adjust. Sure, big money seems to help... and if she can get that going she'll be a star and we'll have a hard time keeping her. But playing guessing games with coaching changes without new sources of money and support.. we'd have to get very lucky on a coaching hire for that to work. There are no sure things.
