I blame the scheme on that all out blitz, unless somebody was out of alignment, which is always hard to tell when you don't get a full picture of the field.

But it was pretty apparent there was nobody in the middle of the field on that play.

Hard for me to lay all the blame at the feet of a guy who previous got a few mop-up game minutes to just hand the ball off in 90% of his previous snaps before getting the call in a tight game vs a good ranked team in crunch time.

Did he throw a couple bad passes? Yeah, can't refute that.

But does MG throw great catchable passes every time?? No he does not, and I know you can't refute that either.

Unless you expect jazz hands X to be that safety valve. I've previously said if he needs to be on the field you may as well blitz him but now I don't even know what he should be doing out there. Helping everyone up after the play and adjusting their pads under their jerseys?

No, he definitely has some head scratchers. I’ll agree with that. But on that drive where they settled for the field goal I really believe they get at least one first down on the ground with him as a running option.

With Gronowski in, we would have had a much better chance of getting the needed 1st down before Stevens missed FG.

Worst case then if Stevens misses we’re going to OT.

Really hope MG will be able to play again soon.

The Defense played great minus some poor tackling at times. Anyone overly criticizing the Defense is an idiot.

We threw the ball on 3rd and 5. So why the complaints about being too conservative? If we had ran the ball and got stuffed, that would have been too conservative also I bet.

Would have been nice for Brown to give the RB a chance on a simple screen pass though.

This is why you let your backup qb run your actual offense and make pass attempts in garbage time vs handing the ball off ten times- because all live game reps matter!

I can agree with this. MG is a dual threat and that keeps the D more honest.

But comparing them, and rest of QBs on roster, from a pure passing standpoint and MG is not much better than the rest.

I thought the swing pass to Milton was a great call. Just awful execution. Should’ve been a very easy pass to complete that even if you don’t get the first down, the clock keeps running.

I think we overblitzed today.I think iowa has it in their head that if it works the first time.It's going to work the next ten times

Glad we’re back to accepting the only way we have a chance to win is to try and not score

that second half was brutal to watch.
First half wasn’t great but it felt like both teams really trying to establish dominance in the trenches

still can’t believe Indiana ran as much as they did. It really felt like ISU playbook agains the hawks. Grind it out knowing the game will be close and take advantage when it counts. Maybe they felt throwing 60x in a hostile environment was too risky

the second half tho, it was like watching paint dry.
A few first downs. Then nothing. Punt punt punt

Iowa scored 3 points in second half (technically guess 5) and we blame the defense

UH? After the turnover and score we held them until the field goal. That was obviously my point. We held their offense in total check the first half AFTER the initial TO and short field score. I guess I could have made it more obvious but I'd think you'd know exactly what I meant. But hey, pick away anyway.....

MG isn't perfect, BUT he's a winner. His whole career, and you can see it coming at Iowa as well. I would have liked our chances with him in there in the 4th
