Not wishing ill will on any coaches but there are going to be some very impatient fan bases that are expecting results. Which job opens first?

Billy B just got there. He ain’t getting fired

There has been uncertainty around him since he got there which is why I added him.

Two people already voted for them.

I voted for Florida but I almost went Clemson.

It’s Clemson or Okie St first and probably Okie St. Dabo probably end of season while Gundy might get it in October

Dabo's buyout is $60 million at the end of the year, and drops to $57 million after next season, from that point on he is owned 100% of this remaining salary if fired until 2031. No way they are firing him and paying that off. If they could come up with the money, Dabo would be the first choice for any premium job that came open. Gundy is a dead man walking and will be lucky to make it through the season.

aTm has oil money and Jimbo never won anywhere near the level of Dabo. The question would be if fired, does Alabama fire their guy and hire him. He played at Alabama, and for years the thinking was that he was the choice to replace Saban. Now he would not be replacing Saban, instead replacing the guy that followed Saban.

Do you know there is some crazy clause in Dabo's contract that his buyout if he goes to Alabama is 150%?

Yea I get it. Just making a point that money doesn’t mean much anymore. If enough of the right people are upset enough then things will happen no matter the cost.

I say UNC. I think Bill is going to get fed up and they'll just part ways.

I don't know the Florida coaching situation, but I don't think Wisconsin is getting rid of Fickell this year. Dabo isn't being fired this year.

Gundy will be done at seasons end

Wisky. He looked shook up from about the 2nd quarter on. Couldn't even make eye contact with the Rutgers coach shaking hands after the game. It's like he knew what's on his way.

If Fickell loses to Iowa in 3 weeks, he might not see the following Monday morning as HC…
Wisconsin has a bye next week then plays at Michigan, Iowa, tOSU, at Oregon…
He’d be 3-5 or 2-6 with games with Indiana and Illinois coming up.
4-8/5-7 is not what Bucky signed on for.

I don’t think Fickell endeared himself enough with the Badger Faithful to protect his job. Dabo and Gundy both have.
Bill will get at least a couple years and, let’s face it, his hot twentysomething girlfriend is the best thing about him right now. Napier has close to a $20 million buy out, which is what protected him last year, so I think he’ll go after Fickell.
But the SEC is generally quicker on the trigger than the Big Ten, so maybe the Florida job opens up first. I imagine it will come down to who the next guy in will be. UW and UF aren’t firing their coach without a pretty good idea of who is next.

I picked Florida because I believe they have a bye this week. $20 mil is chump change in comparison to Dabo's.

Gundy has lost 11 of his last 12 games. The one victory this season was an FCS opponent. So that's 11 straight losses to FBS opponents. They were a 13.5 point home favorite versus Tulsa, and still lost.

The fans in Madison may be more upset than the fans in Stillwater, but I still say OK State because the case is so strong.

SEC doesn’t mess around. Florida will be the first. It’s way too competitive and their boosters won’t put up with it. Fickell and Gundy neck and neck for next. Gundy has a helluva an overall record at OK St and he was their star QB. Fickell is just a bust. Clear and simple. He’s way over his head.

Not sure what Napier’s buyout is but top SEC schools don’t mess around. While I would think Gundy deserves to be let go first it wouldn’t surprise me if Florida pulled the trigger any day now.

I would think FLA makes a push for Cignetti. He seems like a good fit for the SEC.

but does not Cignetti have a humongous buyout? although according to this thread, maybe those "huge" buyouts are not so huge anymore. IDK.

i have no idea, but if you think he’s the guy to help you compete for the playoffs you find the money.

It’s pretty incredible what he’s done at Indiana, I’m sure he could have the Gators back in the top 10 in year one.

It’s crazy how he’s ruined that program. Alvarez had a plan, big physical linemen with running backs galore. QB’s with enough talent that wouldn’t lose you the game. And always a tough D. It’s crazy how soft they are on both sides of the ball now.

Similar to what happened when Rich Rod went to Michigan. Total misfit.

wisky isn’t going to fire fickell. just his second season and that schedule would inflict a good number of losses on any team.
he’ll get a couple more years no matter what imo
