he’s gotten better every game
he powered this win
he powered this win
We won because you were there. He most certainly has as he looked sharp in person tonight
It's been a minuteWhen's the last time Iowa had a QB lead 2 TD drives in the 4th quarter against a P 5 team?
This is a great question! Another I was wondering - which is sad - when’s the last time an Iowa QB averaged 10+ yards per attempt vs a P5 opponent? When's the last time Iowa had a QB lead 2 TD drives in the 4th quarter against a P 5 team?
Actually, after his performance those first couple games, the Deacon/Cade/Spencer compare was warranted. He has a much better OL to work with and he is improving nicely. He had a very good game/Win in a hostel environment. His leadership qualities are definitely something we have been lacking for many years now…He's not perfect but these comparisons to Deacon Hill, Cade McNamara, etc... were insane.
He still needs to throw earlier at times and accuracy is a problem as well BUT he can throw and he is a willing runner.
I'm glad he's a Hawk.

We had a Dual Threat QB who won the Davey O'Brien award.
Very strategic of KF to wait 23 years to start another one.
Way to go being a ray of sunshine..........We had a Dual Threat QB who won the Davey O'Brien award.

No they weren’t. We still don’t knowHe's not perfect but these comparisons to Deacon Hill, Cade McNamara, etc... were insane.

Are you saying that we still don't know this:No they weren’t. We still don’t know
Yes there were games with optimism. Iowa played Rutgers. We still may not know next week either. Are you saying that we still don't know this:
"comparisons to Deacon Hill, Cade McNamara, etc... were insane."
?
Gonna have to strongly disagree with you here.
We had a Hawkeye QB truly lead his team to victory last night, in a tough game that could have gone either way, when his team really needed him... in a way we haven't seen in years.
The comparisons to Hill, McNamara, etc.. were insane.
Better legs than Cade. Better everything than Deacon. Comparisons are dumb.No they weren’t. We still don’t know
Fun win
Kinda 50/50 ... complimentary comparison toward the QB ... Captain Stubborn, not so much.Way to go being a ray of sunshine..........
We’ve been let down before.Better legs than Cade. Better everything than Deacon. Comparisons are dumb.

Agree to disagree. We still may not know next week either.
I agree and have never doubted his moxie, and he obviously is a winner given his accomplishments to-date. Hopefully he will eliminate the WTF passing problems and continue to improve. If he does Iowa will be pretty competitive in most games.I’ll admit, I was skeptical. After being down 4 with 9min to play, and winning by 10, is something we have Rarely seen in KF’s tenure. A kid with moxy at QB will go along ways.
Big time kudos to these Hawkeyes.
First drive had one drop by Phillips, not two. On the long pass to Anderson over the middle the pass was short and then Anderson was tackled before the ball even arrived. It was a blown PI call. Was at the game . Showed a lot of Guts. First drive 2 drops by the WR. Had 2 bad passes, out pattern at the Iowa sideline
first half , Goal line pass way to low. Ran well is very physical . This version of MG we beat ISU . His growth has been amazing
Phil Parker D stepped up in the 2 half, Special Teams very good. Only 2 penalties. This is Iowa football.
Sec. of D.. Phil Parker has to get the secondary to play much better. GO Hawks
Yup. No way either one of those guys leads those 2 4th quarter scores.Iowa would have lost to Rutgers last night, if Deacon Hill or Cade McNamara were the QB.
So, I'm not going to disagree with anything you've said here. The reality is that he's not an elite QB, and I'm not even sure that he's an upgrade from Sullivan who was solid at Iowa.I’ll reserve judgment for when we play the top competition.
He was not great against ISU
Personally, we should have saved the $ or spent it on other positions. WR, CB
You spend 1-2 million thinking it gets you to playoffs…
Could shock the world but we spent the $ for 6-8 wins
