Today at the Monday Morning QB club luncheon Jan was the guest speaker. She obviously could not mention her by name but she insinuated she feels good but it's very stressful. Joked that she sleeps with a roll of rolaids near her bed. They are deep sea fishing and her thoughts are that she is ready to find out if they are in or not(not just with Woliczko but all of their top targets). Just so she can move on, take a breath and not continue to stress about it. She also insinuated that they missed out on a high priority because she was not as involved as she afterwards felt she could have been. A sort of kicking herself moment. She is a great listen and really insightful.USA under 16 teammate with Bjorn and Woliczko, Followed by Jan, Coach Barrett, Addie Deal,McKenna and Bjorn on I.G. Unofficial visit in October of 23.

Greenway crossed my mind first.Wonder if the miss was Gigi Battle since she cancelled the visit this weekend.

It doesn't seem like there was a lack of involvement in Greenway's recruitment. It seems Iowa put a lot of effort into it, just as it's effort into Woliczko. I don't know, but overall, I didn't think Jan used very optimistic words, she didn't convey confidence. In fact, she conveyed insecurity. At least she was honest, butI wish the situation were more positive for her and for us.Greenway crossed my mind first.
I don’t think one thing is related to the other. I think we are still in the drivers seat with Woliczko. I find it interesting the amount of tweets coming from her dad about Iowa basketball recruits etc. that seems telling to me. My guess would be Kate Harpring....we were in the lead and then we weren't.Today at the Monday Morning QB club luncheon Jan was the guest speaker. Looking at it from a different perspective could be maybe Greenway because Iowa was conducting its recruitment at a normal pace without rushing anything, prioritizing the 2025 class that was still being recruited, and Kenny Brooks arrived aggressively and closed the deal very early, in November 2024, two years before the 2026 signing day. But I don't know if that fits with Jan's words.Greenway crossed my mind first.
I'm thinking it would be a player for whom Harmon was the lead recruiter. When Raina left, it's possible Jan didn't have the relationship she needed. Wake me up when she finally decides
Recruiting is an inexact science. I think Jan, the players and university gave 110% on McKenna's visit. But as Jan said, they are deep sea fishing. I have gone out on the big waters many times and got shut out more times than not. But occasionally, everything goes right and you get the thrill of a lifetime. It doesn't seem like there was a lack of involvement in Greenway's recruitment. I have my fingers crossed that the 2026 class will be great, starting with McKenna.
Go Hawks!
I also think Jan gave a masterclass at McKenna's OV. She deserves to win this. I don't blame her for being stressed, it must be a very exhausting process, but as a fan, I wish she were more confident at this crucial point in the 2026 class recruiting process. Look, I'm not demanding her to be confident, just it would just be a better sign for us. But I admire her sincerity.Recruiting is an inexact science. She isn't going to shoot herself in the foot. I still feel confident and I would say there is a cautious optimism from Jan. And as she said also 'there is always the portal'. I have no inside info and wasn't coming here to suggest we will not get MW. Just wanted to give a brief update on what she said yesterday. I think college coaches have more than their share of misses when if comes to recruiting. That is why they are hopefully but not enthusiastically exited until the recruit commits.I also think Jan gave a masterclass at McKenna's OV. She deserves to win this. I agree 100% with Hawkangler. My thoughts are they aren’t here until they are here.
What?Could ESPN be slow walking the announcement to give South Carolina more time to flip her to SC ?
Why would ESPN be involved with her decision making process?Could ESPN be slow walking the announcement to give South Carolina more time to flip her to SC ?
They have a vested interest in the SEC succeeding. They have tv contracts with that league and the sec network. Why would ESPN be involved with her decision making process?
They are pro SEC, They pretty much own the SEC.Why would ESPN be involved with her decision making process?

I heard there was a new update on this in Skim Burner Ball, I don't know exactly what it was but it seems like it's good for Iowa.I guess McKenna's dad posted the Ethan Harris commit on his Instagram story if that means anything
Also, Skim gave Iowa an 80/20 shot at landing McKenna over USC. Hopefully Skim is right but it still feels more 50/50 to me
She just reaffirmed her belief that iowa is the clear leader for McKenna.I heard there was a new update on this in Skim Burner Ball, I don't know exactly which one it was but it seems like it's good for Iowa.
Previously someone said maybe the Pat McAfee show, not Around the Horn. They were ending their long run last Friday.I guess she was going to announce her commitment on Around the Horn but ESPN canceled the show to stop her from committing to Iowa.

Skim didn't explain why it went from 80/20 to 95/5 (almost 100%)?No real news but Skim's prediction went back up to 90-95% Iowa
I wasn’t going to share all that considering we pay for Skim’s info.Skim didn't explain why it went from 80/20 to 95/5 (almost 100%)?
