Yeah, there's the minnesotan lawmakers, two of which were murdered, two of which had their lives completely changed back in June by a MAGA voter who stalked them and impersonated a police officer to get into their home.
I'd remind people, they still do not have a suspect in custody for the shooting yesterday. We don't know what the motivations of the shooter were. People saying this is a democratic problem have no proof or evidence of that yet. This shooting happened in a red state, with a red governor, and very lax gun laws.
Gun violence does not discriminate. Guns are just as deadly to republicans as to democrats, to white people as to minorities, to adults as to children, to straight as to LGBTQ+. When is enough going to be enough? Gun reform doesn't mean completely doing away with gun rights, but something has to change. I can believe in the 2nd amendment and still think there is a need for something to change with how we regulate gun safety in this country.
Where is the outrage for the school shooting that happened in Colorado yesterday, where 4 children were injured and another child took their own life with a gun?

So you don't think that open carry laws apply here? Utah is an open carry state. That means any number of people could have walked into that crowd with a gun on their person completely unimpeded. Just so we're clear, gun reform looks like more extensive and enforced background checks on people who are attempting to purchase a gun. Stricter gun-purchasing laws have been statistically proven to reduce the amount of gun trafficking that happens across state lines as well.
Would gun reform laws not have prevented that? What about the minnesota school shooting a few weeks ago? Tell me, why does it make sense for extended magazines and semiautomatic weapons to be legal for citizens to purchase?
What about the kid that shot 4 other kids and then killed himself in a Colorado school shooting yesterday?

I think he made a career of just being a jerk to people, trolling them to get them mad (see wanting to debate gun control at Stoneman Douglas HS a year after the mass shooting), and generally making our political climate and discourse worse. I don't see any evidence of Christian love in many of his statements.

They won't say it but I believe after five years with no evidence, it's sunk in with most of them that they were lied to, not that they care about that either, but they know in their hearts it was all made up.
But here's the thing - even if it were true, this is America and that is not how you solve a political dispute, period. And I can tell you for sure that I would never re-elect a president from my party who engaged in that kind of primitive vigilantism without a shred of evidence to support their claim.
