Was that last year? I certainly don’t remember that happening. I just remember a 54 yd FG going right down Main Street for the dub.
Oh boy, do you have short term memory loss? Might want to have that looked into. But a Clown with mental issues is no surprise to anyone. Either that or you were so embarrassed you had to mentally block that sequence from your mind to cope. Either way, not looking good for you chief.

Recency is the order of the day, sport. How many Iowa QBs do you have to go back to get to that play? Heck, that was even before Proctor came into Iowa City for a $100K lunch to sign autographs.

Were we not going down memory lane? Sure read like it to me. But that's OK, I know Clowns aren't a fan of the past considering how badly we've owned you the past 10+ years. Can't imagine not getting a win against a rival in my own house since Obama's first term. Rough stuff.

You now may understand that beating Iowa is not much of a goal. Getting to the CFP is the goal and ISU is light years ahead of Iowa in achieving that goal. If that were to happen this year I suspect Ralph’s would burn to the ground.

Is getting biblically embarrassed in your conference championship game when you thought you were a shoe-in part of being light years ahead? I'm sure it's an easier path when the big boys of the conference left too.

Hawks sure wouldn’t know what getting to a no division conference championship game is like. It likely never happens in Iowa City, does it sport?

Considering we've won two conference championships under Kirk, we haven't needed to. I suppose you don't know what winning a conference is like, huh champ? Maybe someday!

And by your standards ISU won last year. The comical part is that I doubt you were even alive for those conference ties

I truly don’t see how the hawks can pull this one out without being +3 in turnovers and a few lucky bounces.

Clowns are going to pick us apart offensively as I do y trust our secondary or DL to apply pressure.

Iowa will run their conservative offense and continue being stuck in 3rd and long and making MG run for his life.

I don’t think the hawks get blown out but it won’t be as competitive as the score.

This game is going to be tight the whole game. The team with the fewest mistakes will win most years. Oddsshark computer generated model has Iowa winning 28-14.

I'd make up **** too if I had nothing else left to say. Iowa has actually won conference championships in the modern era, you know, 2002 and 2004. I guess the Clowns can't say the same, huh? The only comical thing here is your desperate attempts at a clapback. Go crawl back to your clown hole.

Those were ties, sport. ISU tied last year as well so we are comparing apples to apples. In 2020 ISU finished at the top of the B12 all alone. Iowa did that 40 years ago which was long before you existed.

I don’t disagree that Becht is a good QB but he did throw a ball into the belly of a KSU defender that likely would have lost that game if it was caught, in which case this whole thread might have a lot different tone.

Irrelevant. A championship is a championship and Iowa earned it. Trying to compare your annihilation last year to actual awarded championships is pathetic, but par for the course for you worthless clowns. You also lost to Oklahoma in 2020 in the championship. So again, you have nothing.

Aren't you tired of me spanking you? This is getting embarrassing. Keep guessing my age if it makes you feel better, but it doesnt change history, champ.

You are obviously a teenager because most adults don’t have your high level communication skills, sport. My guess is your grandfather regaled you with stories about Chuck Long and Ronnie Harmon. That was the last time Iowa sat atop the B10 standings alone. Of course you remember quite well when ISU sat atop the B12 standings alone.

The ISU TE have 100 receptions and 9 TDs returning, while the Squawks have 68 and 3 TDs back, we had two WRs drafted in the 2nd and 3rd rounds in the draft, while you guys had none, Meaning your TE were the focus of the offense, while at ISU it was the WRs.
Stop believing the hype and just look at the stats.
You may be right about relative talent in the TE rooms, but you're not very good at logic or data analysis. Whether WRs were drafted is completely irrelevant to whether TEs were the focus of an offense. In fact, last year was one of the rare seasons when TEs were NOT the main focus for Iowa. WRs combined for significantly more yards and TDs.

Why do you continue to make up these weird, fanciful stories? Are you so out of arguments that you have to start making things up? You must be tired from moving the goal posts so much. First we talk about championships, now all that matters is who sits atop the standings? Whether you want to come to terms with it or not, Iowa was in fact, a Big Ten champion in 2002 and 2004. There's no amount of lies, creepy age guessing, and made up stories that can change that. Just like how Iowa State has never won a Big 12 championship. No one cares about standings, they care about who the champion is. And you pathetic Clowns have never been Big 12 champions. This is an undeniable, irrefutable fact. Thanks for playing, sport.

yup, mistakes cost Iowa last year just like they did in Matt’s only other win vs Iowa in 2022.

if Iowa runs for 180 yds and doesn’t turn the ball over they’ll win comfortably Saturday.

I’ll be surprised if it isn’t a close, low scoring game.
We got the X factor in our RB.

I think you're right. Going after Becht is the key. Keeping pressure on him from the first play is vital. If Phil plays his standard defense, it's gonna be a long, long day of watching ISU run up the score. The only chance Iowa has is to aggressively go after the QB and blitz more often than Phil ever has. I'm not sure that he's ready to do that, so I hope he surprises me, because without pressure on Becht, it's game over.
I haver heard other football watchers say that Parker might bring a mix of blitzes throughout the game just for the reasons you said and also because if he is comfortable and has 6 seconds he will find someone open against a zone.

But what little I saw of ISU against KState in Ireland, two offensive ISU drives, I thought the ISU offensive tackles were not very good. So making Bocco scramble and bring the ball down is huge. Maybe our DEnds will have a great day

You could not be more wrong, the squawk WR last season ended with 80 receptions and 6 TD,s compare that to ISU where Noel and Higgins had 167 receptions and 17 TDs. Granted ISU throws the ball more, but when your top 2 receivers get over 80 catches each, they were getting the ball thrown their way a lot.

??? Dude, that still doesn’t work. It says nothing about the relative importance of TEs in each team’s offense. Iowa WRs were a bigger priority than the TEs last year. ISU’s WR stats are irrelevant to the Iowa offense.

Yeah, that makes sense. I cheer for the Hawks no matter what. Being a fan is being fanatical and passionate about your team. But loyalty doesn't mean willful blindness. The offense and QB situation has been a sh**show for too long.

If Iowa wins it will mean some serious coaching has happened between week 1 and week 2 and key players stepped up. (and most likely ISU found a new way to piss down their leg). That's the only way the Iowa team we saw last week will beat the ISU team we've seen the last 2 weeks. It can happen and it would be glorious to take down the clones in their house again. I'm just not seeing it.

If you can't handle a robust discussion and difference of opinion these forums may not be for you.
ISU doesn't have to piss it down their leg. Who the hell have they beat? KSU who barely beat North Dakota and South Dakota. I think the Hawks will run all over the Clowns.

Iowa has better than a puncher’s chance at winning this weekend, but it won’t be because Ferentz plays it straight up expecting to dominate the trenches. That isn’t going to happen so the hawks must take chances to win. The line is 3 points for a reason. Clones have significantly more weapons than the hawks do so ISU has a much larger margin for error, which you saw in last year’s game as the door was cracked open and the Clones took the game.
The line is 3 points because the Clowns are playing at home.

It's hate week against the worthless Clowns. Kirk is working to get that final win to get him over the hill to claim the record of winningest coach in the B1G. Historically, this game will decide if we have a good season or a bad one.

Key to the Game: There's only one key to beating them: stop their golden boy, Rocco. You stop him, you effectively stop their entire offense. Iowa will always beat the worthless Clowns when it comes to line play. We'll also stop their subpar run game. Last year, our defense did a great job rattling Brecht and forcing him to make bad decisions. They couldn't move the ball, even with their "best wide receivers in the world" during the first half. We'll have to bring the heat every down and make him uncomfortable.

What to look for: The worthless Clowns will look to throw early and often. Expect deep balls very early in the game. Campbell knows that Iowa isn't a team that's built to play from behind. They will do what they can to score as quickly as possible. If Iowa goes down by more than one score, the game will be over. Whether the worthless Clowns want to admit it or not, their WR room took a hit and isn't as good as last year's.

Offensive plan: Run down a ************'s throat will be the game plan. The game was taken out of Mark's hands last week, so I expect little to no passing this week. He won't fix what happened last Saturday in a single week, especially in front of 50K people who hate him. So it will be on the shoulders of our young RB room to get it done.

Death to the worthless Clowns and Go Hawks!
I still think Iowa should (can?) throw at opportune times, particularly when the clowns are stacking the box.

Mistakes were made by ISU in the first half. The Clones took over in the 2nd half when good teams show their mettle. Had we played from the kickoff, Kinnick would have emptied out in Q4. But Playing one of our worst games of the year and still winning, made for a fun day. The last second kick was a thing of beauty.

The key to the game is Iowa grabbing the lead and staying in 3rd and manageable on offense. 3rd and 4, 3rd and 5, you can run Gronowski or the RBs and keep the chains and clock moving. The key for Iowa is keeping Becht on the sideline and shrinking the game moving the sticks.

My key to the game, at least on the offensive side of the ball ....

Can/will Gronowski (& the receivers) make ISU play for stacking the box?

If so, gonna be a game that is ripe for the taking. If not, gonna be looooong afternoon and alcohol poisoning to drown the sorrows.

Did you trust McNamara to make a play to win that game? It's on Kirk that we were in that position at QB but he had totally **** the bed the entire 2nd half so our only hope was to hope our defense could bail us out like always.

I mean we are going to have to throw a times, certainly. I'd take 10-15 for 100 yards at this point if it enabled us to loosen up the Clones defense just enough. Because I also see Gronowski running the ball 7-10 times as well himself.
