Morris looks decent. One big pass play but mostly staying on the ground. Curran getting some nice chunk runs. Defense has done well to limit Wilmington. Other than the big TD run they've had to punt on their other 2 possessions. Wilmington kept Morris out of the end zone once with an INT at the goal line.

I'll do my best but not sure what's going on now. Feed cut out for a few minutes and now we have the end zone cam and no audio.

Morris had a nice play call on the game winning TD. Looked like a wildcat formation end around that caught Wilmo off guard.

It was a really good game. Lots of momentum back and forth. Great way to start the season.

Talk about a tale of 2 halves, sheeesh. Wilmington is Wilmington and did there thing. Their biggest advantage was in the coaching category. Reents made halftime adjustments, Thorson...not so much. First half was very clean, 2nd half Morris did all they could to give the game away with penalties. Morris had multiple personal fouls that basically walked Wilmington down the field and on the last drive they'd get to the 1 and then have a false start, and then did it again.

Not sure what I think of the Morris defense. Tough to tell when you only have to defend against one pass play prior to the last possession, which was desperation. The only real sustained drive Wilmington had was aided by multiple Morris 15 yard penalties. I was impressed with Wilmington's defense and their tackling, very few broken tackles. Curran had some chunk plays but those were open holes where he wasn't touched until the 2nd level.

Varner is a solid QB for Morris, but not sure why they never attempted to get the mid range passing game going. He had a few nice deep balls, but everything else was attempted WR screen passes. Nothing across the middle or even just simple out routes.

Glad the Redskins got the win, but much work to do. Wilmo will win out until week 9 before the big showdown with CC. If they happen to lose that, I feel for the poor bastards that have to face a 7-2 Wildcat team in round 1.

I was yelling at my laptop wondering why the QB was running off the field on the last play.

If Morris is what I think they are, then Wilmo is in good shape if they happen to go 2A. Morris came out and punched them in the mouth, but they hung in there and were in position to win.
Morris needs to clean up the penalties, but maintain their edge on defense. I doubt they will face another team that plays the same style as Wilmo outside of maybe Rochelle. The Varner twins were good, Curran was good, and as a Wilmo fan, I wish Smith was still on our side.

All.... Congrats on the class 4A Redskins victory tonight! One team in postseason play fans do not want to play you whatsoever! And it's not the Cycs. Ratsy

Morris killing themselves with the personal foul penalties.
Caught the game online. If I were Morris, I would not be proud of that victory. Too many personal fouls that were very easy to spot online. Wilmington did a great job of not retaliating which say a lot about that coaching staff. Wish I could say the same for Morris. Very bad look.

Not be proud of a win? Makes zero sense. Last time I checked the goal is to win the game. I don't care what level of football you watch, week 1 sloppiness/ mistakes happen every single season. It will get fixed. Both teams will have great seasons. Morris is 1-0 and on to week 2!

Agree. Love the aggressive play, but they need to be much smarter.

Personal fouls after the play is over isn't week 1 sloppiness/mistakes.

I was not surprised by Wilmo staying in the game... I will have to check out the Redskins offense... Do they run the ball from RPO formations or from traditional running formations?

Little bit of everything. Will line up in spread most of the time with anywhere from zero to two backs in the backfield. Inside the 10 they'll go old school and line up in "T". QB is a good runner and will pull the ball and take off a few times a game.
