Good luck safe trip home.We are here. Good field. Terrible views from bleachers. No showers. 4 port-ta-pottie.
That's crazy can't believe they allowed a playoff game there.Im here best view is from scoreboard or home side but home side is fsr from field. Concessions is a tent lol pressbox is a tent with kareoke machine
Ctk 7 hayesville 0 Hayesville punter dropped ball gave them ball on 14. Announcer had karoke machine echo on after score
Yes and no. The field itself was good. The facilities not so much. No locker room for the team. They had to dress in cafeteria with access to a medium size restroom. No showers. Players had to bussed to the field. No place to get out of the weather at halftime. Public restrooms were 4 porta-johns. They had a shed for the officials to dress in. Visitor seating was 2 sections of 2 row bleachers and 2 sections of 3 row bleachers. All of these were behind the visitors bench with an obstructed view. The home side has more bleachers but they were kind of far back from the field. The visitors coaching box was a scissor lift located on the 20 yd line. All the facilities were well kept and clean. In my opinion they were doing the best with what they had, however the lack of infrastructure made for a very difficult situation for the visitors and their fans. Overall, I believe the game should of been moved.I just need to know from the folks who made the trip- was the stadium as bad as advertised?
Could you imagine if the wind was even worse than it was last night and that thing started to sway back and forth? And to be in one, makes you wonder if they were strapped in for safety with a harness. That's what we call around these parts "redneck engineering".That definitely doesn't sound fair to anyone- fans, visiting team, or even the home team. Coaches in a scissor lift is wild.

I take binoculars to every gameBest place to watch game is under scoreboard. That's where I stood I was gonna watch from home side but it was so far away from the field. There isn't a track around the field but as far away as the very few stands were you would think there was 2 tracks. I walked over there and was thinking dang u need binoculars over here. When there fans were yelling for calls last night I'm like there ain't no way yall could see holding from that far away.
Hayesville had some responsibility here as well they should have registered a complaint. Unless someone knows otherwise I haven't seen anyone post that they did and I believe if they had the game would have been moved if they did then that's on the NCHSAA completely.
But by not following their own rules the nchsaa bare some responsibility wether Hayesville filed a complaint or not they shouldn't have to wait for a complaint to investigate I realize the school has only been around for 11 years but I'm sure they were aware of what kinda facility CTK has.
NCHSAA handbook under General information regarding playoffs....
MINIMUM SEATING REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: Class 1A — host 1000,
visitors 500; Class 2A — host 1450, visitors 750; Class 3A — host 2000, visitors 1000; Class 4A
— host 2500, visitors 1500. The Executive Committee has authority to move a play-off game
when the circumstances are perceived to warrant such action even if the host school meets the
minimum seating requirements.
If additional seating is required to meet the above standards, the expense shall be that of the
host school. A $1000 penalty shall be imposed on schools failing to meet seating requirements.
If the visiting team has a complaint regarding the playing facility, it shall be registered by
noon on the Monday preceding the game. In the event of such a complaint, the President of
the Board of Directors shall have the authority to appoint a committee of three members of the
Board to investigate the facilities. This committee shall be vested with the full authority to set
the site for the game.
If a neutral site is selected, the representatives of the two playing schools shall meet with a
representative of the school furnishing the neutral field to agree on game management.
Well I'm seeing that if it's a private school you better check with only 2,500 capacity total Charlotte Catholic doesn't even come close to the qualifications for 4A. Thing is I doubt these private schools get a big crowd some kids may not live anywhere near the school.True. However for most teams the first priority is film breakdown and game planning. It is taken for granted that a private school would have good facilities. I would bet that most schools are not aware of the filing deadline. I can assure you that in our case the need to address the other teams facilities has moved to a higher spot on our checklist.
I would say the vast majority of the students at Catholic live within ten miles of the school. There will be some farther out but not that many. Southwestern area of Union County and the southern area of Meck is by far where most of the Catholic students live.Well I'm seeing that if it's a private school you better check with only 2,500 capacity total Charlotte Catholic doesn't even come close to the qualifications for 4A. But maybe it's just me but seems that someone on the staff especially the athletic director should have a good familiarity with the nchsaa handbook and rules.
I don't think expanding vouchers will make a difference at CTK.It's ok, the NC General Assembly will continue expanding vouchers and they'll have stadium funds soon.
I guess my point is the nchsaa made these rules about seating capacity and they may need to reassess the size 4A etc should be but if they're not going to abide by their own rules then just take that rule out.I would say the vast majority of the students at Catholic live within ten miles of the school. The 4A city schools do not pull huge numbers most of the time. Not the same school spirit as the smaller areas. I have been to games at the largest schools in the state and the smaller ones (Robbinsville). As far west as you can go (Murphy) and to games in the seaboard counties.

Have no idea wouldn't think so. But you can find out what you need to know online. As fast as I know the schools could have some kinda list of other NC schools facilities and I doubt in most situations they're not overly concerned about the capacity of the school if it exactly fits the qualifications but in this case all you had to do was go to Google maps and see an aerial view and tell it was fit for a playoff game.Is it customary for a visiting team official to view the host team’s facility prior to noon on Monday preceding the game?
Deana for NCHSAA president! You know you have the backing of everyone on all these boards.I always check out the venues of any new schools we have on our schedule.
I've been to games where that would be a very bad idea very bad.Lake Norman charter has no visitor side whatsoever visiting fans have to sit on the home side with home fans
I have heard of fines being issued though for insufficient seating.Have no idea wouldn't think so. But you can find out what you need to know online. Thing is why does the nchsaa even have it in the rule book and even threaten a fine? Probably should just be taken out because I've never heard of a game being moved before of poor facilities and if this one wasn't none of them will be.
But I'm not sure if there is another stadium that doesn't have a field house and bathrooms.
Tarboro @ Granville Central in 2016. They had one small set of bleachers on the visitor side of the field. Tarboro basically took over one end of the home side and the PA announcer at GC told the Tarboro fans they had to vacate the home stands at halftime “by order of the Sheriff’s Department.” Since Tarboro was up 43-0, we decided to leave and on the way out we talked to the deputies at the gate. Apparently, they had no such order to clear the stands.I've been to games where that would be a very bad idea very bad.
