Expected more? D gave up 45 last year and 14 this year despite having to replace both middle backers. Offense lost POY QB and started 3 freshmen (1 at QB) along with 3 new OL. I guess high expectations are a good sign though

4 from robbinsville is a beast. They won’t lose another game for the remainder of the season. Asheville was able to contain robbinsville on D and the cougar offense was able to move the ball and create big plays. Freshman qb didn’t turn the ball over. Didn’t get a chance to watch it I was over at Reynolds watching them give west Forsyth a butt whooping. Listened to the radio after the game and sounded like a great game
It is my opinion that a good 4A team should beat a good 1A team pretty handedly. Robbinsville certainly didn’t look like a 1A team but still.
Robbinsville isn’t a pushover for anyone. They could play a college team and get whooped but that college team would know they had played somebody. They fight hard. I wouldn’t think too much into that. The SMC has made a living feasting on bigger and “better” opponents. If you walk off the field with a victory against Robbinsville, Murphy and Swain most years, you have accomplished something. The same can be said about Andrews this year. They are gonna be really hard to handle.
I see your point but I just don't view Asheville as 4a like the bigger schools. And Robbinsville would finish no worse than 3rd in 4a/3a MAC right now. That is a well oiled machine they have. That is why I was pretty happy with a win

Robbinsville was inside the 30 with 50 second left down by 6 even without Williams and only returning 5 on D and 5 on O. And breaking in a new QB. We will be better after a few more games

I know the kid threw a couple of picks, but I was actually impressed with the QB for R'ville. The 4th and 9 scramble for a first down on the last drive deep in Cougar territory was nothing but sheer will.
