DK much about Ashbrook this season, the last time we met a few years ago it was a pillow fight with Assbrook winning. I see they have a few wins and one of which is against Forestview. Any play makers to watch out for? are they improved with the new coach?
Burns coming off a tough loss will need to regroup quickly. The young pups are learning on the fly but its conference time and the other games were only going to make us better for this part of the season. Hopefully can start it off right!

We are going to have to find some ability to mix it up more. Our play calling thus far has gone something like this: hopper, hopper, hopper, incomplete pass, hopper, hopper, hopper, hopper, hopper, pryor, hopper, hopper, hopper, hopper, incomplete pass, pryor, hopper, hopper, hopper, hopper, hopper, hopper, hopper, complete screen pass, hopper, hopper....etc.. Needless to say, people are just going to start keying more and more on hopper. We are going to have to start being more successful in the pass game and by that I mean being able to do more than complete the occasional screen. We need to be able to put it down the field. If all we have is hopper it is going to be a long year because as good as that kid is he cannot do it all by himself.

I'll tell you what though. If Hopper and Pryor both stay through their senior year (probably a big if), and our freshman QB turns out to be a stud like it looks. That offense will be incredible. Hopper and Pryor are 2 dramatically different RB's who can take it to the house anytime. Throw in a good QB, and you got yourself something. I just hope we can build a good offensive line the next couple years.

I think this game will show a lot about both teams. Ashbrook has two new coaches both of which are old SP coaches and while the kids are still learning the new offense, Ashbrooks D looks pretty good. I'd like to see this one.

Ashbrook will mix up the looks. Brooks is their big play back and he can burn you if given the chance. Then again we gave up a 70 yard qb sneak so who knows.

Losing Coach Pack was tough...He was a great OC. However, i have alot of faith in Coach Devine and i think he is doing what he needs to do to stay competitive at the moment. I fully expect we will mix it up some more with conference play starting. Keep in mind this team lost a ton of offense last year and we are just a hair away from being 3-1.

I thought the same. I mean we lost game 1 on the last drive and last week in OT. If we didn't shoot ourselves with penalties in game 1 and catch the ball in OT were a 3-1 team. It all starts Friday for real.

Agreed BB94. You can throw play calling, youth, size, inexperience and whatever else you can think of out the window. If penalties are fixed, we're 3-1.

Guys Coach is doing a great job with the young kids he has. Our QB is a.game manager not a play maker . He played well last week . We really don't have the down the field threat that we usually have. Coach is doing a great job calling plays to get the ball to Pryor in space . He is also starting to spell Hopper in the back field with Pryor which is a great idea. While I was disappointed after the game I am still excited for this teams future. Coach Devine and coach cog will have these guys ready to play every week.

expect old school offense from Ashbrook Friday night. If you can keep 2 in check you win, it's really that simple. I'm with a couple other guys, this game tells me who both teams are.

If If If...KM would actually use their talent and not waste it, you wouldnt be known as the red headed step child of Cleveland County. I like the "what if" game :)
I am sure KM will be looking for WHAT IF when burns show up in a few weeks.

IF km does not lose to SHELBY in overtime we would be undefeated. IF IF IF WHAT IF.

My "If statement" was to point out that our coaching and our loss of production from last year had nothing to do with our losses. It was penalties. If you weren't a DA, you would have known that.

Pressure is on you newbie. If you dont dominate then you under achieve...AGAIN. Burns is young and competing, Im glad we are a few plays away from being a 3-1 team. very promising. W all that talent you have over there, you still cant beat shelby and not a given for Crest and their new weapon they received from you.

You keep talking about how young BURNS is KM started by my count only 8 possible 9 SENIORS of the 22 starters against SHELBY last Friday night only 4 starter where seniors on offense. I would say that KM is also very young.

Thats excellent. We can see who improves the most over the next 2 years, who stays the same, who loses kids to Crest. Should be fun!

Mountie, Burns is still our unofficial farm team. There hasn't been any talent at Burns in the last few years worthy of playing for Crest. Our Drector of player development picked up a couple from KM. They seem to be working out very well.

Score indicates neither team has a good defense, but Ashbrook might be a little better obviously, what's your thoughts bulldog fans?

I didn't think Ashbrook looked to good honestly. We just looked bad. We didn't show up at all in the first half. We acted like we didn't want to be there. The second half looked better offensively. We threw in a wrinkle offensively that Ashbrook had trouble defending. Ashbrook has a good running back and a few big ones up front one defense. Overall i was disappointed in our effort.

If if if .....look in the mirror mountie . ALL we heard last year is If if if our qb dont get hurt we would have won from the km crowd when the dogs spanked that tail.

I wanted to see more of a pass game. We tried to pass more but ended up with 4 pics, including a pic 6. So, my thoughts? First, I was disappointed in our coach not giving Sweezy a shot a QB after the half. I know our starter is his son but he was having a bad game before the half. You need to do what is best for the team. Second, unless some adjustments can be and are made (especially on the defensive side) then we could end up 1-10. Finally, I hope the solid talent we have (like hopper and pryor) stay with us and don't leave for crest next year!

Totally agree 100 percent my friend . One thing Blanton did RIGHT was bring back coach Devine. I greatly admire the job he's doing with this group,...the man can flat out coach. The wins may not show up as much this year but seeds are being planned for an incredible run the next few years . And we both know how hard coach cog works.

I disagree, Devine is probably our best passer at this point. We dont air it out for a reason and we saw why last night. He is a game manager and we cant ask him to throw for 250+ We did mix a few things up last night and gave some different looks that helped move the chains. Our Defense has been excellent all year for the most part, They make adjustments as needed but just let too many big plays happen tonight. I dont think he is starting his son just becuase they are blood, He is our best passer as previously stated. I was waiting for those cries to come out. Sweezy isnt near ready, Burns still could have found rhythm on O last night after halftime (and they did) No sense in getting a Freshman QB killed. Let him come in for a lopsided win if we get the chance. We are YOUNG and inexperienced in a lot of positions and we will develop. just gotta stay motivated.

Well, sounds like there is trouble on the home front in upper Cleveland county. I think I'm gonna stay out of this one...for the record, I am a Crest fan but I'm not in charge of recruiting. My job is to criticize and complain...

The Bulldogs will be fine, y'all are young, and The triple option is hard to defend anyway, especially against two form red raider coaches...I will not be surprised if they push KM and Crest to the wire.

Seems the brook always plays crest tough so yes that will be a good one ....as far as trouble at home it's fun stuff for message boards but imo Devine is still the starter and bring 12 in some to mix it up . The freshman is not ready as most 14 year olds are not for Friday night.

I'm not worried about this year. We know what we have. I am worried that these kids will jump ship next year. I think Devine has the personality and fire to keep the kids at Burns. I just hope I'm right because the future is bright.

I must have been half asleep when I typed that... Yes last year when burns went down . I really did hate it for the kid . He was really good. You are correct burns and km have some good ones no matter the records . Seriously best of luck and I hope y'all can stay injury free this year ...good folks over at KM.

Burns start 7 sophomores on offense and a QB that was a backup last year as a junior that never played and as a sophomore played center on jv. Offense is still scoring enough points to win a high school football game. Stupid penalties at the wrong time have killed us. Hopefully that cures itself with age.

If you're losing game after game try the JV QB. Week after week the defense is being blamed for the mistakes of the offense in the newspaper on Thursdays. Ray Charles can see that our play calling and quarterback are terrible. I see why all the great kids transfer away from Burns in the upcoming years Burns will be the equivalent of West Lincoln football
