Jacksonville @ West Craven

Should be fun getting to play in our own stadium again after disruptions from Matthew. Jacksonville will certainly not be overlooked as they ended our season last year. West Craven goes into the game in pretty good shape health wise. It will be interesting to see what the intensity level is after the win Monday @ Havelock. The kids have to realize there is no time to celebrate.
I watched Jacksonville and West Carteret earlier when they played on a Monday night. Their qb went out to injury and the cards seemed to sputter from that point. I believe West Craven will have an advantage on the line of scrimmage both ways. That is something Jacksonville will have to deal with all night. Should be a good game but Jacksonville better be ready to play with the intensity of a home team or they could face what Conley ran into. footballaholic3232 stop and talk to me. I know you are going to be there. Hopefully this game has the same intensity as our playoff game last year. We owe you! lol

Yes sir.. will be there. Yes the Cards had better come to play. The Eagles are as advertised and that is pretty damn GOOD! Both of these teams don't like each other very much but I am sure respect each other as both have beaten each other. From what I am seeing if the Cards come out and play like they did against New Bern then yes it should be a classic. One thing about this one is that there will be athletes all over the field on both teams. I think it comes down to who stops the big plays. Cards will have to account for Mr Abrams and contain your QB make him run. Because if they let him stand back and throw the ball all night it will be a long night. Now the Eagles defensive front they get after it. But you don't have backs who rush for over 500 yards combined in a game because your offensive line stinks. So they will see some some serious speed who will make those big boys run side line to sideline so let's see if they are in shape. Plus Jacksonville will run the football and go 4 deep with backs who can take it to the house on and given touch. Everyone that's knows football usually you can stop one good back but stop 4 for 4 quarters. Remains to be seen. Boone is 100% I promise you not very many will catch him once he breaks. So if all goes well for both teams then this should be a good one.

To be honest I don't know the jv record. I know they played last night and won. I've intended to go to some games this year but after work I usually have my mind on a shower and a recliner. I guess I should be ashamed to have to admit to not keeping up with the jv' s. It's hard enough to make it to my daughter's volleyball games but their season has ended now until travel ball starts.

I'm not going to edit my first post but I was confused about playing Jacksonville last year in the playoffs. I'm not sure how I got so confused. It was 3 years ago when we lost to the Cards in the playoffs. You guys are big 3A so we wouldn't play now in the playoffs. Next year we drop to 2A because that is what out enrollment is. We beat you last year without Debo who was in the outs with our former coach 36-7. We lost to Southern Nash 22-21 in the playoffs. I guess I should always backtrack with maxpreps before posting. I'm getting old and I'm feeling better about our game. I can't see Jacksonville running for 500 yards on us or 400- 300 - 200? Maybe 200. There's a huge difference in West Craven and Swansboro. I think we scored over 50 on them in the first half before playing backups in the 2nd half.

Your right Swansboro and West Craven two totally different animals. The wind got let out of our wings in that lost to West Carteret when Boone got hurt. That game it was already 21-6 about to be 28 if he got in. Now I won't play the could have should have thing. However if he don't get hurt that game would have been over at halftime. West Carteret does not want to see a healthy Jacksonville squad again this season. Hopefully it happens in the playoffs they knew they got out of town real lucky that night. Now there is no way in this world am I questioning how great this Eagles team is. But I promise you if they come out still celebrating from that big win against Havelock and think that it's going to be a cake walk they are in for a rude awakening. Jacksonville will be ready to play I promise. They understand what's at stake here just like I am sure the Eagles do also. What I am hoping for is a great high school game between two good teams and hope that neither team has any injuries in the game.

It should be a good game. I'll die if they come out and make 2 costly turnovers like they did to start with against Havelock Monday night. My heart is still in a slight tachycardia from that!

If the Cards play like they did against NB it will be a tossup. Jville still has the best O line, by far, NB has played this year. Don't be fooled by a loss or two that may have been suspect. They have a lot of speed and athletes all over the field. I judge by what I see with my own two eyes. Maybe WC was off vs NB but Jville was the better team of the two when they played us. This one could be interesting if the stars are aligned but the Cards will have to bring their A game.

I been telling folks all alone that the Cards can and will match anyone athlete wise. Everyone talked crap about the bears but they turned things around and are undefeated in conference play. WC is a great team and I know some will feel all warm and fuzzy because they beat the mighty Havelock Rams..but the Cards are not much of a drop off talent wise from the Rams I promise you. Everyone is going to talk about the two loses.. Notthside got two lucky breaks in the game that just so happen to end up being TD or that game was going to be over the first night they played. West Carteret knows darn well a healthy Boone they would have had 50 plus hung on them. This should be a good game. Well I am hoping that we are treated to a classic anyways.

I'm a believer. Told you before that I believed the Cards have turned the corner, You've got a very dangerous team for sure. They could be a nightmare to a lot of teams if they stay healthy in the playoffs.

NB is getting better every week. Their D has been stellar. I'm just proud these kids found the resiliency not to tank after the start they had. The 4 losses were to really good teams, but NB isn't used to losing. Proud of this team. They have a lot of heart and are showing some confidence. If they win their next 2 anything can happen.

Agree trust and believe I have gotten into a few ballroom arguments about the bears and told folks that when they get it figured out they will be fine. Allot of folks are eating crow right now. To go into New Bern and beat a Bears team like that with all that pride and tradition you have got a talented team. Some of these other folks sleep on the Cards but that same New Bern team stay with a really good Hillside team and had chances to win. From what I was told from some folks who were at both the Havelock and West Craven games that neither of those teams did to the Bears what the Cards did. So hopefully they come in and take us lightly.

We lead 16-0 then have a stoppage on lightning and resume days later. i didnt see the first half on friday night because i was on call at work. i saw the 2nd half played on a monday night. played with no real emotion just going through the motions. 10-8 2nd half for a 26-8 final. Whatever momentum we had in the first half was absent from the 2nd. Had similiar results with Havelock and 2 fumbles right to go with in the resumption of that game. Hopefully we play all 4 qtrs Friday night.

Lovethembears let them go ahead and think that they are playing the Jacksonville of old. I will not pick a winner and have never since I been on these boards but if they think that they are coming in for a cakewalk. I promise you these angry birds will get off the bus. They looking at two giveaways against Northside and West Carteret and thinking that it will be smooth sailing. The football Gods aligned for both of those teams that night and they know it. Northside had two very lucky breaks that changed the game that they were getting dominated in that kept it close. The 5 minutes that they scored I mean hell a good team would score also when you give them a fumbled kick at the 5 yard line. West Caretet the play Boone went down on he got hit on the 2 yard line the score would have been 28-6 going in at the half. The 10th grader backup steps in the next play and fumbles the ball and threw some bad picks or that game was over at the half. All other games played were over by halftime so we won't even talk about those. What coach Williams and his staff have done there is remarkable. The JV team the past like 4 years have been finishing second in conference only losing to Havelock. This years JV is undefeated ask West Craven JV how good they were after that 52-8 whooping they took tonight. The jr high school that feeds into the high school program have been undefeated for the past 4 years and the games are not even close. So wait till you all see what is on the horizon. I watch their games that they play at home because my house is directly across the street from it. You think Mr Boone is special wait till the younger Boone who is a 8th grader now and plays QB comes up next year. He already stands about 6'2. Also remember on this years varsity alone there are about 6 10th graders who have been on varsity all year. 5 of them being starters. You think you see athletes now wait till these youngsters that are in 8th grade now come up next year. Good lord. Your about to see something special on Henderson Dr for at least the next 8 years. I tried telling some of you. But they called me crazy. It started with that 2013 bunch. I said those kids were going to start it off and Jacksonville will be a perennial playoff team as long as a man by the name of Williams is walking the sidelines. Some told me I was out of my mind. Jacksonville will never beat SWO or as long as Northside is there Jacksonville will never be good because all the athletes go there and they will never beat Northside. Well we see how that has went the past 4 seasons or so. I don't want to be the guy that said I told you so.. but I am going to be that guy. I told you gurus so. Like I said before and I will say it again as long as Beau Williams is on the sidelines within the next three years Jacksonville will bring home a state title. Call me what you want. Everything that I have predicted has come through. Go back over the years and read. Lord knows if I don't know anything else in this world I know the game of football. Have played it have coached it all over the country. I know when a program is being built the right way and it most definitely is in Card country. Now like I said before you have never ever heard me say that Jacksonville will win them all or ever saw me predict a score like some do on here. All I ever do is say that the Cards will show up and play hard. That is what I am saying about tomorrow nights game. They will show up and play I just don't see a blowout like some seem to think. These are two solid teams and should be a great one. I wish no injuries for either team and may the best team win. But y'all already know I will be there with my lucky Go Cards drawers on!

Jacksonville has not beaten a team this year with a winning record. Not one. While we do have several common teams on our rosters we have beaten 3 that have winning records. Jacksonville ain't the 69 Green Bay Packers. I also hope we have an injury free game but there will be some bruising and swelling. Count on it! Looking forward to it. should be fun as always and I love the pregame banter dont get me wrong. High School football is like no other sport!

Dude all I am saying is Jacksonville is not scared of West Craven. Let's look at the last 5 years they have beaten us a couple of times and we have beaten them. I cant do much commenting here on game nights because I do a game thread on facebook for family and friends that live away from Vanceboro and I send group text to others that don't facebook. The only reason I ever posted our scores in your Havelock threads was so you woukd know what we were doing. I'll say this in all serousness. You should take up my offer to meet me some time.
