Well looks like they got off the bus. Eagles are no sh@$ legit. The Cards are not as bad as some would like to think.
Now for those who question these young Cards... they are legitimate and what is coming up things are looking real bright in Jacksonville. Proud of these youngsters. Again congratulations to the West Craven Eagles
Havelock has a game on their hands next week. We won but these guys are worn out. I didnt see this team against West Carteret footballaholic you told me. They didnt play like this in the first half of that game. Your guys dropped a lot of open passes. i think that was the difference.
Yes that killed them.. but hats off to your kids and coaching staff. Those are some hard nosed kids great coaching. The best part about the Cards are look at how many youngsters you have out there. Havelock had better be careful because for once someone in the conference will match them speed wise athlete wise as well. The Cards looked forward to this one but you can bet the farm on it they will get off the bus next week as well. That I can promise you.
Its tough to go on the road and play like you are at home. I really thought the homefield advantage would have been more of an advantage for us. Debo really made some big plays in the 2nd half. His senior leadership has just been amazing this year.
IF i dont have to work I'll be at the Cards- Rams game. We really need that bye we are getting next friday. lol
No they did not. Like I said kinda played down to the competition remember when Boone got hurt it was 21-6 he got hurt at the 1 yard line going in to make it 28-6 before the half. Totally different ballgame he does not go down. West Carteret they know they got out of dodge very lucky. That's the game of football though your next snap could be your last. But hey again congrats to your kids and coaches. I am proud of my boys to come into one of the top teams in the state and take it down to the wire like they did. Only the Eagles will beat the Eagles don't see many who will hang with them like that.
That kid is the real deal willed his team to victory. Eliminate two of those big plays he had. Different outcome if everything stays the same. Debo is the real deal for sure. He is everything that they say he is.
The kid can flat fly. Would be best for Jacksonville if they had a good qb that could throw and put him out wide. He would be impossible to cover. When they moved Debo last year from QB and let Jared play Qb and started throwing to Debo is when we really took off.
Here is what I can promise you.. and that's coming from a couple of West Craven fans. The Eagles have not seen anything like the Cards all season. That includes Havelock. Just like one of the parents said and to think allot of these kids are sophomores. Listen to what I am telling you guys just wait till you see what's coming up in a couple of years. Your about to see something special with these youngin that are waiting in the wings. Combine that with the undefeated JV squad. There are some special things about to go on in Jacksonville. Wait till y'all see the younger Boone who will be running wild in Cardinal Stadium the next 4 years. This Boone here is a special athlete wait till you see the kid brother.
We have had 2 incredible games this week. I noticed the kids when they gathered as a group after the game. They were dragging wore slam out. This game to me was better than the Havelock game. Could be because we played 2 halves 3 weeks apart but it was hard hitting and close and fairly well officiated. I saw 2 calls I thought were bad. In the first half Jacksonville got called for a facemask and I had an unobstructed view from where I was standing behind the endzone. He did not have the facemask. He had his hand inside the shoulder pad in the middle of his chest and pulled him down. Then we got called for a horse collar and the kid grabbed the Cards players jersey in the shoulder area. had 2 separate handfuls of jersey and slung him around by it. He didn't have his hands in the collar nor did he had hold of his shoulder pad. Just 2 handful of jersey it was stretched out pretty good as he slung him around. I wouldn't think that is a horse collar?? Other than that we had a very well officiated game.
I'm not sure if we will play you next year. I haven't heard yet. I don't think we play Havelock and that will really feel odd. We drop to 2A because of our ADM numbers. I'm wondering if we will play SWO and Northside? They are 2A aren't they? We lose a lot this year. Debo- Jared (qb) - Cla'ron Mims maybe his brother I'm not sure about him. So I'm hoping we can keep it going for this year because of that.
You can add me to that list. You couldn't watch that game tonight and not be impressed.
Yes SWO and Northside are 2A. Yes I agree with the officiating was not that bad. Yes these kids left it all out there on the field tonight. Both teams know that they played a football game let me tell you. Great show of respect at the end love that. Yeah you guys are pretty senior heavy. You will do well moving down to 2A though. I am so excited for my young Cards.. they get to the playoffs they can give some teams fits.
All the skill players at Jacksonville that is the 3A State Champion Track team. So all of them can run. Pretty much the entire football team all run track. Hell the word on the street is our Fat man relay teams usually beat most others in the relays. So we have some athletes for sure. And as you can see that speed translates to the football field from the track.
