Crest @ Chase: I was seriously tempted to have the Chargers on upset alert. Chase has a couple of D lineman who can wreak havoc, get after the quarterback. They also have speed at the skill positions. Nevertheless, Crest will win another hard fault game. 17-7 Chargers

Burns @ East Rutherford: Burns wins easily to advance to 7-0. 35-14 Dawgs

Shelby @ East Burke: Truck Sims had an all around great game, running the ball and punting the ball, too. Receivers, Etchison and Fuller, are playing good ball. It continues this week. 52-0 Golden Lions

Draughn @ Kings Mountain. The Mountaineers get a much needed victory. 28-7 KM

Keep picking against the Chargers LD. You'll be like SeaDog. Eventually you will get one right. 36-1 in the last 37 games ain't bad. And a 9-2 in a rebuilding year is acceptable

8 -3 is not bad at all ima. Forget the fact u struggle with the draughns and rs centrals of the world ....Just trying to stir the pot but crust fans not biting. If chase wins clark better get outta town asap. I do think chase can keep it competitive....heard u guys had some injuries.

We got a back up QB...sound the alarm! recruiting at its finest! BJ Hopper played at Shelby for a season. Correct me if I am wrong but was at Burns the previous 2 seasons and I think Back at Burns before school was even let out last year.

After this year, Crest will have so many transfers that the NCHSAA will have to reconfigure the conferences and move them up to 4A.

1 transfer is still a transfer so yal bums boys cant reference transfers when speaking of the mighty chargers. Its not our fault everyone wants to take our great basket weaving course that isnt offered anywhere else

Ha I love your logic but it doesnt work like that. We will let our 3rd string outside water boy transfer to you and we will take your sophomore QB, transfers are transfers after all.

Bomb dropper actually hit the nail on the head, all the stud non district players are gone and you are forced to show what your talent level really is. Grant it, it is still very good but not 32 in a row good. Horse shoe club is already turning on him and you clowns are calling for the HCs job for going 9-2 10-1 lol.

i love coach clark. Hes the first coach at crest to actually care about my sons academics and as a result has went from a c and d student his first two years to A's and B' his last two years. It aint his fault Barnes took all his transfer contacts with him lol. If they can by some miracle get better on the offensive line Crest has plenty enough talent to make a run at a 3 peat.

Myself I'm worried about my Chargers they are in trouble I see lots of things that concerns me, and I don't see this huge talent gap that I keep hearing about.

Even if talent is down alittle there is no excuse for struggling with these team we have struggled with penalty after penalty, kids not being on the field when they need to be and having to burn TO's to get it right brings up some bad bad memories!

They let a coach leaving for greener pastures hand pick his replacement, with no resume to speak of, maybe he just need to tweak is approach a little bit!

But all the same that is GREAT that your kid is doing better in class at the end of the day that's really the most important thing!

I love hearing stuff like that! happy for your boy Charger, there is a life outside of HS football and alot of these kids never make it once their coach is done w them. I have heard horror stories from the previous coach at Crust and his lack of caring about academics.

So, when did it become the football coaches job to make sure a kid gets better grades. Shouldn't you be criticizing the kid or their parents? All a coach should be interested in is if the kid is qualified to play. I'm sure Barnes encouraged the kids to do better in class but he cannot take the tests for them or make them study. That's is totally up to the kid and their parent(s).

Rev, i understand DBD is a clown only looking for laughs but why do you feel a need to lie about Crest. I have been to every Horseshoe Club meeting this year and talked with members before during and after the meetings and not one has mentioned the need for a new coach. We understand Coach Clark is breaking in a lot of sophomores on both side of the ball due to an unusually small junior class.

After going to 5 of the last 6 state championship games, eventually there had to be an adjustment or rebuilding year. This is it. It's not a bad thing.

Does making up stuff about Crest online enable you to feel better about your program? Experts say that people who tell lies about others have self confidence issues and are only trying to make themselves look better. Do you have self confidence issues? You shouldn't. Your program is doing great. Try enjoying your success a little more and quit looking for someone to belittle.

LOL. Sounds like excuses to me Rev. So the rise in Burns record is coming on the back of multiple recruits? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Enjoy your season and dont forget to send RS Central and Shelby thank you notes for the players.

What a terrible thing to say. Yes it is on their parents but a lot of kids don't get a father figure in their life. Or their parents aren't what they should be. They can be all stars on the field but no grades = no college. It's the coach's job to help bridge that gap and be a parent type person for that kid.

I've heard that one Parent is fixing to give a coach at Crest all he wants if he doesn't stop Cussing some STUDENT TRAINERS...lmao

Ima i have read your post for years and you have always been a good one ....belittle - of course we do but for me its all in fun....seems u r taking a little too serious . Crest has a great program no doubt about it. Its gonna be a good one on 10/28.

wow somebody seems to have a personal problem with me. I do not spout lies I promise that. It sounds like I have touched a nerve that you are trying to justify wrong, Fact is, I know it has been talked about, and not just ignorant grumbling fans. Im sticking up for the guy, all for the facts you just gave about the last 5 years, and the clowns are ready to get rid of him. I was personally told by a coach that had yall lost to Weddington, the school would have been looking for a new coach...that is asinine and like GDG said, spoiled! I personally dont think a school board or school could justify getting rid of a coach for a 9-2 season unless they came up with other reasons. As far as the pot meeting the kettle....the day we get your best 3 players along side some outside the county then you can keep the kettle. It struck a nerve with you because...ITS ALL TRUE. Also a coach should not have to baby sit kids and take their test for them..but if you had a lick of sense, a coach can be the most influential person in a kid's life, and that coach should personally do his best to make sure kids are living up to their programs standards on and off the field. Tough job but it comes w the territory.

wow back to back championships and 1 loss this year. and crest is hearing all this. 99 percent of the teams in the country would take that record. im by no means a crest fan far from it. but jeez even if they go 7 and 4 this year which aint happening in my opinion. give those guys some credit. its well deserved. i dont care what classification you play in its hard going back to back.

It's not that's Crest is winning or losing its how they are winning...these teams...they are NOBODY'S they are all pathetic! Therefore, Crest is pathetic for BARELY winning! That's what people don't understand...it's not like Crest is going to see RS or TCR in the playoffs...and that's probably a good thing! They'd probably lose the second time! They are playing inferior competition as closely as they played SHELBY or WEDDINGTON last year...really...you can only avoid the obvious so long...Crest record only looks good because the conference SUCKS! Lord people! open your eyes and just admit it! Crest is average at best! They'll lose in either the 1st round or 2 second in the playoffs...but the sad part is, it will be considered a "upset" but it's not.

lol spot on. "beating RS by only 2 touchdowns isnt getting it done" That sounds like some of their people need to realize that the talent level Crest had the last 2 seasons isnt home grown and it isnt gonna be greatness every single season.

What you are reading is 2-3 bitter, bitter fans of programs that have been the doormat of Cleveland County for so long they are unable to enjoy what little success they have achieved this season. Not one Crest fan has posted on this site that this years team is anything but an average team. It appears that Rev, DBD and Laettner are so upset that the best teams their programs have had in several years will not be good enough to beat this years average Crest team. LawnDog, BBB and others seem to understand reality but those 3 can't seem to let go.

OK Ill bite,

the fact that we are even in the conversation of competing speaks volumes of our kids and staff. What you are seeing is crust fans disappearing like a magic act now that the struggle buss appears to be pulling in. Im enjoying our teams success, we could lose to crest and Ill still enjoy our teams progress we made. Why is this years Crest team so average? gotta play with the talent Boiling Springs actually produces huh? and some fans/club members are already grumbling...I laugh at that fact. I wouldnt necessarily say the Crest team is average, they have good athletes still and some holes in their armor like most teams are suppose to have. Guess you guys are not used to that in the last 3 years...

XChamp on serious note i really do think Burns can beat Crest this year. We will see where we stand in two weeks that's for sure. We got some guys banged up but hopefully will be in full force for that game.

I didnt say it was a coaches job to make sure a kid makes good grades but its sure nice to have one that asks at least once a week about how hes doing in class and stresses to him how important good grades are if you wanna make it to college. Us as parents tell him the same every day but it goes in one ear and out the other. Its different coming from the coach. A coach can and should be one of the most influential people in a young mans life . Between us working and him going to school, practice and work himself a lot of days he spends more time with the coaches than he does with us. But to answer your question it is on the parents and kid and we've did the best we could.
