hahah. Oh Dat , I love you dude. I knew I'd get you all fired up with a novel come back. You turned it towards the 'black" thing, I wasn't even referencing that, I just thought the scarf looked dumb. I agree we shouldn't have a thread called Carter looks like a fool though, poor taste. Pisgah, I say we wear kilts to ctc.
For the record, the original poster in this thread actually called Wendell Carter a fool and, "turned it toward the 'Black' thing."

I can appreciate you were not calling anyone out as racist. But it is hard to hear from liberals on a daily basis be it in the media, message boards, etc. and not pick up on this constant under current they share that says everyone on earth who is not a white, straight, christian male is somehow disenfranchised. I don't know about you but I have not been fortunate enough to sign a bagillion dollar shoe deal at the age of 18.
Here's a piece of advice: Stop forming your views of the "other side," based off message boards, social media, etc. Get out and meet people. If you really think Black folks feel that all white people are racist, you need to engage with Black people in real life.

The 5000 replies to a Yahoo article are either trolls looking for a reaction or the absolute lowest common denominator of people on the planet. If I formed my opinion white, Evangelical Christian conservatives off those posts I would have moved my family underground around the time of the George Zimmerman trial.

Less interaction with a phone and more interaction with human beings would go along way toward solving some of our country's problems. If nothing else, I think it would work to get rid of the, "your team-my team," mentality that is so prevalent in politics and social issues.

I think it's okay for anyone to wear whatever the heck they want. No biggie. But it's also okay for anyone of us to have a little fun and ridicule the way some of the overpaid athletes dress. This is kind of similar to the national anthem debates. It doesn't bother me if players want to take a knee. No biggie. That's their right as Americans. But I also have a right as an American to criticize their actions if I feel it's misguided.
You have the right, but should you? I think there's a sliding scale of acceptability. There's a difference between criticizing a player for (a) wearing a North Korean military uniform, (b) wearing a color that looks terrible on them, and (c ) wearing an unusual outfit that honors their ancestry, right?

Floral Print Suit. Shorts Suit. No Socks... Impressive.

I remember a not to distant time ago, where if your pants stopped above your ankles, you’d get beaten up by everyone just short of the janitor. I love how fashion changes so frequently.

To be fair, per 40, there's a lot more examples to be found online than in real life, and we're all less capable of seeing the other guy's humanity online.

As a Duke fan, Duke alumnus, and former Duke athlete who doesn't really appreciate it when randos bash on our guys as nastily as you sometimes do, I don't give a **** what you are ashamed of.

And I think you may be behind the times... Hail already admitted he was wrong;)

Pis, I still like you... but come on man... one of the first lessons you learn as a kid is "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything."

And when it comes to nastily bashing our OWN KIDS... on a public forum like this... calling him a historical clown in a thread about him being a fool because, on the biggest night of his life, he wore something connected to his heritage...? Come on now. I cannot believe you aren't better than that.

It embarrasses me that some of you go out and represent Duke in public.
Totally agree with you RedState. Word on the street is Hart wears a Duke thong when he visits his girlfriends over at Shady Acres Retirement Home. I hear all the women are waiting at the door with their dollars.
So if you're driving by that place on Friday's, don't pull in. Been telling him it's a bad idea.

First, I never said anything about "black folks" feeling that all white people are racist. My point, which I thought I made clear, was that the liberals I listen to and whose articles I read (not on social media, but on news sites, news shows, etc) paint many groups as victims and white, christian, straight males as the victimizer. I happen to disagree about this in the year 2018. About the only group you can make fun of without any real kickback from society are white males. And how do you know I don't engage with black people? I do agree that it helps to meet people with opposing views. I have done that, and that is one of the reasons why I view liberals the way I do overall. There are certainly exceptions though. And that is certainly not to say I think liberals are bad. I think their heart is in the right place. I happen to disagree with how they think society should change in certain ways.

Second, I agree that the internet can bring out the worst in people. For all the good the internet has done (online banking comes to mind), I suspect overall it has a negative impact on societal discourse and bullying. I for one am guilty of engaging with lowlife trolls on occasion on political websites because I find the things they say to be reprehensible.

Have a good Friday evening
