Favorite Grayson Allen moments.

That hug yesterday is definitely up there. Obviously most coaches try to have their players' backs, but I don't know if I've seen a better example of that than Coach with Grayson the last few years. During the moments where the whole world was against Grayson, Coach always remained his biggest supporter. He took the brunt of the criticism when he brought Grayson back after just one game of his indefinite suspension. He cared more about the wellbeing of his player than his own reputation with the media.

I thought this belonged here after senior night:

“I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.”

2017 ACC Semi vs Heels: score is 72-70 us and GA takes charge, drives/kicks to Kennard for 3 then hits Giles on alley oop for 77-70 lead. Game over.

2016 at UNC, dominated in 2nd half and led team to victory with only 5 players.

- Wisky game, obviously
- Miss and dunk vs. Michigan State
- One that really stands out from freshman season for me was his 27 vs. Wake Forest in second to last regular season game. It came out of nowhere and I remember tweeting and saying to friends, "Watch out, could be key in tournament". Little did I know how right I would be.
- 15/16 UNC game in chapel hill was as well.

- Senior night was very memorable especially that hug. I hope guys like Delaurier, Bolden, Goldwire and O'Connell see that moment and know that though being a 1 & Done, 2 & done, 3 & done or transferring for more PT can seem like a great idea at times, this is the moment that you stay all 4 for. Nobody has had as many ups and downs as Grayson, but he's stuck with it and got the love and respect from K, Crazies and all of CBB for his efforts. It's something special that those young men on the bench have a chance at as well.

So many memories.

Well Grayson was my first duke jersey. There are so many moments to pick from. I’ll pick two.

At the dean dome his second year, when he collected the ball at the end of the game tossed in the air and ran to the bench with his arms raised. Such a tough game and we walked away winners there in large part because of him. That elation he showed we all shared with him.

And then senior night, he had a great night. But that embrace with Coach K and then his speech just etched him as true and great man of Duke. I love Grayson!!

1. the MSU miss and dunk.
2. "Grayson's winning"--27 pts. vs. Wake his freshman year.
3. 37 pts. vs. MSU this year (boy they must hate him).
4. His speech Sat. night.

I'd like to mention one moment that probably went largely unnoticed... In Grayson first career game against Presbyterian, he scored 18 points in 18 minutes. He must have scored 12 points in the final 2-3 minutes. He kept driving to the basket, maybe 5 or 6 times in the final few minutes - scoring and drawing multiple fouls. I knew right then that I was gonna love this kid. I'll never forget the look on Jon Scheyer's face when he went hard to the rack one final time. Coaches generally try to stay stoic on the sideline, and I think Scheyer was trying to do so. But the look on his face seemed to say something like, "That SOB is relentless."

I was busy today, and didn't have much time, but I did put together this, working on it at halftime (Yes, I still believed).
And still time for more memories to be made.

OAD, thank you so much for posting this, and no, I had not given up yet either. You know, being honest, I thought I was this tough, rugged OF, but after watching these Videos, watching the pre and post game speeches, I have come to the conclusion that I was wrong, I am just a sentimental old "weenie". I really love this kid, and the "Basketball Gods" must too, because they answered my prayer for him on Sr. night.
I agree with all the posts here and would like to add another favorite to the list, and it was the McD All-American Slam Dunk Contest, in which Grayson won. It is must see for those that didn't see it.
That's when I fell in love with this young man, and through everything that he has gone through, he will always be one of my favorite Duke players. God bless you Grayson, thanks for the memories and those yet to come!
Go Duke!
