Unfortunately you are correct. The margin for the non lottery picks is very slim. We can only hope the guys like Bolden, O'Connell and Delaurier really impress the staff and get quality minutes. It seems their leash is shorter than the "stud" when it comes to mistakes during the game.
Case in point is BC game. Grayson and Bagley played a combined 78-79 minutes yet had their worst games this season. Bolden makes a game saving play against Indiana and hardly plays the next game. Makes no sense sometimes.

I agree but then again I think it’s what they show in practice. Bolden has a few good plays and then shows to practice and is a moron on the court. I think K wants 100% all the time. You’re at a Top 3 school for a reason. If you can’t hang in the classroom, practice, and mesh well with the guys...it’s gonna be a L O N G time before you see the court in Cameron. Just my thoughts.

I see what you're saying, but I think certain players have shorter leashes because how much time his stars are gonna get. I don't want anything bad to happen to Carter or Bagley by any means, but Bolden's time is limited while they're here. I get it that they are better, it's just I think he can't develop as well as we would like him to if he gets less than 10 minutes a game. I would like to think K can keep Bagley around 33-35 minutes without hurting the team, and Carter 30-34.

I don’t think he’s a moron on the court. That’s a little harsh. He makes good defensive plays and while I think he is soft on offense he is still learning. The kid had confidence enough to come back knowing Duke had Carter coming in then staying when Bagley showed up. If K wants a hundred percent all the time I don’t see starters getting placed on the bench for poor defense which is or once was required to play for him.
It’s just a new era of kids and offense is the mindset.

Wish him lick, but unless Trent comes back, or we add a legit starter, seriousi mutes should have been available.

I can't believe the recruits you still get that are somewhere in the 30-60 range. It's like an automatic bench sentence. None ever play and a large percentage leave after a year or 2. K showcases the 1@done talent with maybe 1 or 2 guys lucky enough to play with half the roster chilling out. What in the heck was that 7 foot sophomore that sits on the pine thinking right now. He's waisted 2 years he'll never get back. As for top 15 pick Dukes a no-brainer though.

Javin DeLaurier, Alex O'Connell and Jordan Goldwire say hi.

Anyone know what is going on with Derryck Thornton? He's barely playing 14 minutes a game and is averaging a measly 3 points, 1 assist, and 2 turnovers a game. Yikes.

The old just bc you say it doesn’t make it true routine. If you listen to some of the opposing fans like that you’d wonder how they recommend us even fielding a full roster by their logic.

But he is a better player then he was being showcased at Duke says his Uncle!

I feel for the kid but oh well.

Derryck has been battling a shoulder injury but even then I don't think he's progressed.
