Two former basketball athletes at Brown University have filed a class-action lawsuit against the Ivy League for not offering athletic scholarships. The claim states that by not offering scholarships, the league is effectively ‘price fixing’ and limiting an athlete’s financial aid and/or payment for services.
The Ivy League has not offered athletic scholarships since the 1950’s. Ivy schools have other financial arrangements available for athletes that need aid.
I think this is an absurd lawsuit.
