It’s me again. Please, my son is considering buying a home in Manville Boro. Does anyone have good insight into this area? Thanks so much in advance.
There's a Delilah's Den at 18 Washington Ave, if that sort of place would be a problem or a benefit, depending on one's needs/perspective.It’s me again. Please, my son is considering buying a home in Manville Boro. Does anyone have good insight into this area? Thanks so much in advance.

Redditt has some threads on Manville. May have flooding issues?
Cover charge included one can of off label/generic soda...from what people have told me.Anytime I hear Manvilpe I think of Franks chicken house
Yes, Manville is located at the confluence of the Millstone and South Branch of the Raritan River. During big storms it floods and the areas that do not flood become an island.I looked at Manville about 13 years ago. One house was by the GS. The realtor told me that the neighborhood itself doesn't flood, but is basically in a donut hole, surrounded by flood zone. So you may not lose everything, but you will not be able to get out.
Of the towns in the area, Manville would not be (and wasn't) my choice.
I think of the Polish deli I used to go to there. The Polacks that owned the place barely spoke English. They had the Kielbasa hanging from the ceiling. Wonder if it's still there. That and of course the flooding but that's just certain areas as I understand it.Anytime I hear Manvilpe I think of Franks chicken house
If this type of post doesn't get to at least the medal stand in a Manville thread, we're doing something wrong.Anytime I hear Manville I think of Franks Chicken House.
Lots of flood zones in Manville. Be very careful. It’s me again. Please, my son is considering buying a home in Manville Boro. Does anyone have good insight into this area? Thanks so much in advance.
Can I get some good paczkisThe Summer Polish Festival at Christ the Redemeer is always a must even though the town itself is best to be avoided
Lived in Edison for 27 years.Never had or even thought of a flooding problem. Why look for troubleYes, Manville is located at the confluence of the Millstone and South Branch of the Raritan River. During big storms it floods and the areas that do not flood become an island.
The Polish Pickle Deli is still there (right next to the high school property). Had been wanting to stop by there for a couple of years and finally did after working a Saturday soccer game at Bridgewater High School. Most of the people inside including customers spoke Polish. Bought two kielbasas, one for me and one for my neighbor who was born in Poland. A couple sitting at an outside table said they drove an hour & a half to get there. Am definitely going back to try other products.I think of the Polish deli I used to go to there. The Polacks that owned the place barely spoke English. They had the Kielbasa hanging from the ceiling. Except where I live , been flooded quite a few times in 46 years here. Lot of new condos going up. Huge development where Art Color plant used to be.Haven’t been through the whole town, but Dunellen looks like a real good place.
How old is your son? What is he looking for in a new home/town? Somerville as previously discussed might be a solid start for a home (in the right sections-mostly closer to Bridgewater) if he's thinking of starting or has a family. If he's a GenZ/younger millennial the downtown Somerville condos look like a fun place within walking distance to train station and Main St action. Manville has some decent neighborhoods closer to Hillsborough, but the school system is in pretty bad shape right now. It’s me again. Please, my son is considering buying a home in Manville Boro. Thanks but it basically comes down to cost. He makes six figures but the range he qualifies for is such a crazy market. Houses in the 400-500k range going for 30-40k over asking. There’s not many choices in his price range. How old is your son? What is he looking for in a new home/town? Small ranches in Finderne section of Bridgewater are the most affordable for those who want in Bridgewater schools. Around Bell Aire Park. (Fairmont Ave, Marie Ave, etc)How old is your son? Usually don't flag typos, but this is funny---dogs were recused by their owner? Impossible!!!Has dogs he recused. Needs a home but thanks.

I had to do a double take on that one: if he recused the dogs, why can't he move into a condo? But anyway, good for him rescuing the dogs.Usually don't flag typos, but this is funny---dogs were recused by their owner? Impossible!!!
Makes sense--can get by in a condo/townhouse with a dog, but a yard is much better especially if there are 2-3+ and larger dogs.Has dogs he recused. Needs a home but thanks.
Had family that lived in a Bridgewater section wedged in between B.B. and Middlesex off Mountain Ave. It's been a couple decades (lol) but back then the neighborhoods were very nice and not overly extravagant.Small ranches in Finderne section of Bridgewater are the most affordable for those who want in Bridgewater schools.
