Grading coaches against a curve? Schiano and Pike are both .500 Coaches which isn't awful at a school with such limited resources? Come on now. Greg get an A+ and Pike gets an F-.

Objectively, I think he is. Money or not.
Being fired and hot seat are 2 different things
He may be here for 2 more but a season which is likely assuredly worse than 14-17 will cause a substantial outcry from a large percentage of the season...and we will have a new AD

I’m VERY interested to see if our new president appears to be interested in elevating athletics at this university. If interested, it will require a strong effort to go against decades of inertia in this area (although I do believe Holloway pushed the needle in a positive direction).

Rutgers is not an athletics SCHOOL. Once you realize that you’ll realize we’re likely in for purgatory for our lifetimes. It’s an academic institution. Athletics will always be second here.

While I really liked what Carino had to say about two year contracts etc at the end of the RU questions section, I overall thought the pod was fluff and more of him being a mouthpiece for Pike (I’m sorry, “Pikes”, as he made sure to tell us what good buddies they are so we should get the nickname right)
Blames Halloway for everything because he’s the head of the university. Under this logic shouldn’t Pike be to blame for anything bad basketball wise? Schiano didn’t sit around and blame the Pres and AD, he went after donors and did something himself.
A lot of opinion and “so I’m tolds” from Carino. He tells you it’s his opinion they should press a lot. Then later tells you he made some calls and the intention is to press a lot. But that Pike has said this before and isn’t comfortable pressing a lot. Double talk. Then says he was told the plan is to spread the money out, no seven figure players. But then says they’re involved with one. More double talk.
He was told by Pike they got Francis at a good price. Come on. Then tells you he doesn’t know specifics. But does prop him up as a combo guard that can help Rutgers by being quick and pesky. Know a lot of quick and pesky 5-10 Gs who’ve had much success in the big ten.
No mention of a center. So Pike’d is anchored by a rim protector, our essential SS, 2B and CF. We’ve gone from Cliff-EO to EO-Lathan to now just EO?
Bottom 10% of nil in the big ten. So 1.8 teams. So were last? Everyone has more?
I did like when he said it’s his opinion you’re better off paying 5-7 guys and little on the back end then trying to spend it on 12-13. Of course we’re not doing this.

I'm assuming he renewed. By his own definition he's weak . He can’t give up his long recaps and bitching about how sidewalks are cleaned, how bad young ticket agents work and how our players and school sucks. For someone who has said he hates the current state of college basketball and doesn't want to follow it, being the hypocrite that he is, he's still posting constantly ,he can't stop. Imagine him not being at games ,how will he able to ***** about the loud music or cost of a hotdog.
Does anyone really think he'd sign up and pay for peacock to watch games. Those radio guys would be in for a load of attacks in his recaps. Oh well,it was expected.

Two faced comment .There are probably way more than 50 posts by others concerning random guys deciding to renew. Go recomend your comment to all those. As a matter of fact there's an entire post dedicated to just that topic. You seem to be the guy "worried about" what someone posts .And by the way you have no idea what anyone worries about. If you had such honest concerns ,go criticize Bac about his more than numerous posts about whether he was renewing or not.
I for one commend him for complaining about icy walks to the RAC. Snow in between by toes really gets my bits not to mention the salt put down really damages my pads.
There is no excuse that Rutgers can't excel in at least one sport .Michigan and Notre Dame are the models for a university that excels in sports and academics.
Carino said he would concentrate NIL money on "getting a couple of impact players" instead "spreading it out".
I seem to recall we had a couple of impact players last year and then added pieces around them. How'd that work out Jerry?

I think a true impact player plays defense too. Hey, I hear you. Last year was a disaster. But that’s one thing I think Carino was right about. With limited money we can either pay the front line or spread it out. Pikes will spread it out to non big ten players. Carino says Pikes should press, but we know he doesn’t for long even if he says he will. What history tells us he will do is play a 11 man rotation though. Ugh.
Exactly, there is a an entire thread on it and I've seen you ask this in like four different ones. Who the F cares. I get it, you don't like the guy, but find different ways to troll him then, not harp on the same dumb thing - at least make it interesting for those of us that have to read it.
Been saying this… Willard had it right last year at Maryland for a program that was considered on the more limited half of the big 10 he spent on a stellar starting 5 and 1-2 worthy bench players

Actually the press with ace last season looked good. Stamina was an issue for both five stars.
Both of those schools have a HISTORY OF ATHLETIC SUCCESS IN BIG 3 Sports
We have zero history with any legitimate sustained success. None. Football program has always been mediocre. Basketball irrelevant for decades on end.
Huge difference when you have actually won championships in multiple eras. RU has none of that.
There’s good points but like more journalists close to a program you have to take an element of cheerleading into account from a guy who’s paycheck is extremely reliant on having head coaches available to him
Carino is one of the more hopelessly optimistic writers for Rutgers or seton hall

An insanely depressing stat I realized on my own recently...I was born in September 1987, so starting with that 1987-88 school year, there have only been two school years in my lifetime thus far where Rutgers had a winning season in both football and men's basketball...1991-92 and 2005-06, the latter of which just happened to be my freshman year of college...Hard to believe but true.
Not sure you know what two faced means. Yes, sure other topics come up in threads. That's fine. Stupidly asking if a guy renewed his tickets isn't the topic going off course, it's just boring for the sake of being boring. I'm sure you've got funnier in you. If it makes you feel any better the guy who pretends he's a dog bothers me even more than repetitive trolling.
I have to read it, have an annoying habit of having to make sure everything in a thread is read. My own personal FOMO.
