Fairfield to NCAA tournament again after routing a good Quinnipiac team, 76-53. Carly is my number 1 choice in the event we do the right thing and get a new coach.
Wishful thinking but yes. Honestly, I'm not sure she ever leaves there, but if she does we definitely wouldn't be choice #1 (or #10)

Just curious why you don't think she would leave? Especially with the changes in women's basketball (well, the NCAA really).
I do agree that I doubt Rutgers would be a tempting destination, but I kind of thought she would in fact move on to bigger pastures at some point.
Seems to genuinely love it there. Building something great with her husband by her side on the bench and a university/athletic administration behind her 100%
So are folks saying Rutgers and a P4 job has little to no appeal over a mid major job? Not disagreeing or trying to start an argument, just trying to understand the situation
In this specific situation, yes. Really nothing else a coach could ask for at Fairfield. One of the nicest facilities in the country, extremely supportive administration, a super close staff (including her husband), a long-term contract, and student-athletes who really want to be there. Only a handful of P4 jobs that she'd realistically leave for.
Essentially what aardvark34 said. I agree that she would be picky, and certainly some very fine coaches have had a long career at a mid-major. But there is nothing about Rutgers that would make it especially appealing was my point. Sadly, by the way.
Going by her coaching record, it looks like she is.
If not she's a heck of a coach that can without the type of talent that makes a winning program

I belive by the time RU looks for a new HC Miller and Fairfield head coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis
will be set at other major programs and not available.
She doesn't coach in the B1G. I like Princeton's coach. She doesn't have 1 scholarships to give but they are always competitive
I'm thinking ASU Sun Devils job after after GCU is eliminated in the tourney , but her ties to Missouri are deep and with that school looking for a WBB HC, Mollie might go back home instead ,
But i read an article that Missouri isn't going after her and she's choosing between ASU, Arkansas or staying at GCU.
Yeah, Mizzou just hired Kelly Harper, apparently. ASU is not a very good job, but of course would allow her to stay home, but GCU is a far cry from a power conference in terms of environment.
Right now I doubt any up and coming Coach that expects to have major programs looking at them would be willing to risk their career taking the RU WBB job with what RU probably would be offering money and length of contract if they bought Washington out.
Long shots and retreads looking for a last shot would be who'd be willing to take less to prove themselves
and the retreads should be avoided while the long shots probably haven't the experience , yet, to make Rutgers a winner and recruit the type of players, get boosters to pay the price to get some top players , that they need to build Rutgers back to being a program expected to make the tourney every year and do well in it.
Let Washington stay ,till her contract has expired , unless Rutgers is willing to spend the funds and give the type of support that will attract the type of HC and staff that winners are made of
