He’s straight ballin. He’s better than Ace no question. Complete game, NBA body, D, handle, inside moves, sweet J… beast
He is very good, no doubt. Will be tough to cover in the NCAA’s.He’s straight ballin. He’s better than Ace no question. Complete game, handle, inside moves, sweet J… beasts
He’s definitely leaving and could possibly elevate up to a top 10 pick. He’s straight ballin. He’s better than Ace no question. Complete game, NBA body, D, handle, inside moves, sweet J… beast
Will be a top 5 pick . Very Jokic like . Flagg. ,Dylan , AcE and Queen will be in top 5. Three in Big 10He’s straight ballin. He’s better than Ace no question. Complete game, NBA body, D, handle, inside moves, sweet J… beast
Not really.10x better than Bailey
Sure he’s better as a college player. Ace is a much more valuable archetype and nearly two years younger. He’s straight ballin. He’s better than Ace no question. Complete game, NBA body, D, handle, inside moves, sweet J… beast
I get that but I still think Queen will have a very good pro career and may be better than some think. I will never understand why some of our posters need to tear down one of our players to elevate someone else. I think both Ace and Queen will be good pros.Sure he’s better as a college player. Ace is a much more valuable archetype and nearly two years younger.
Top 5He’s definitely leaving and could possibly elevate up to a top 10 pick.
I was actually thinking that too, just outside the top 4, lottery picks.Top 5
And you can? Pray tell, what do you think?Queen is a great college player but we have a lot of fans who can’t properly project a player into the pros.
Someone said he was like Jokic. Come on. He’s a 6’ 10” big bodied guy who can’t shoot the 3. He’s far more like Luka Garza at this point (exact same size) than elite big guys. And you can? Pray tell, what do you think?
You cannot downplay how well Queen has played. He has a high IQ game and very talented. If he ever gets his 3 ball going , comparisons to Jokic will be valid. He is also a tremendous passer. He has an old school game but with tremendous talent. If you do not think he is going top 5 or even top 10 maybe you should give up projecting.Queen is a great college player but we have a lot of fans who can’t properly project a player into the pros.
He passes better than Garza , has a better handle than Garza , can finish with both hands at the rim , is an excellent foul shooter , has a good mid range shot , is a shot blocker , can rebound on both ends. I could go on and on. The more I go on , the more you will see the traits he has are very Jokic like. I didn’t say he was Jokic just Jokic like.Someone said he was like Jokic. Come on. He’s a 6’ 10” big bodied guy who can’t shoot the 3. He’s far more like Luka Garza at this point (exact same size) than elite big guys.
Stop. He has shown the skill set that you need to succeed at the pro level.Queen is a great college player but we have a lot of fans who can’t properly project a player into the pros.
This. When it’s all said and done unless Ace doesn’t have his head on straight (and I think he does) he’ll end up the best NBA player of this group.2 years older makes a difference
I don’t disagree. He absolutely will succeed. I’m simply saying that he’s not going to end up a top 5 player in the NBA.Stop. He has shown the skill set that you need to succeed at the pro level.
No way he’s Jokic that’s for sure. But he’s a lot better than Garza. I think he will be a very good part of a whole on an NBA team. Oh and BTW, he hit two three’s today. That’s obviously not his shot but he’s really good from the elbow in.Someone said he was like Jokic. Come on. He’s a 6’ 10” big bodied guy who can’t shoot the 3. He’s far more like Luka Garza at this point (exact same size) than elite big guys.

No one is claiming that. One poster made that comparison. I think he will have a very good NBA career based on what he’s shown. This is a dumb discussion as I think both players will do well.He is not a great athlete and isn’t an elite defender. Will he go high? Sure, Edey ended up going 14 and has done a nice job so far. Queen has a higher upside but I’ll stand corrected if he ends up being a generational talent like Jokic who has 2 MVPs and averages a triple double.
That’s not what people were saying. They were saying he could be a top 5 pick, which is very possible.I don’t disagree. He absolutely will succeed. I’m simply saying that he’s not going to end up a top 5 player in the NBA.
Fair enough. I love the guy. I knew he’d kill the college game. I just don’t see him projecting into an elite big guy.No one is claiming that. One poster made that comparison. I think he will have a very good NBA career based on what he’s shown. This is a dumb discussion as I think both players will do well.
No.He passes better than Garza , has a better handle than Garza , can finish with both hands at the rim , is an excellent foul shooter , has a good mid range shot , is a shot blocker , can rebound on both ends. Let me explain it again. He is Jokic like , his passing , his footwork , his elite handle , his driving ability , the way he swallows up rebounds, his finishing at the rim with both hands. Once he perfects his 3 in the NBA then he has the complete package. Let me say it again he will not be Jokic but he has a lot of Jokic qualities. Hope this clears it up for you.He is not a great athlete and isn’t an elite defender. Will he go high? Sure, Edey ended up going 14 and has done a nice job so far. Luka Garza could hit a 3 . . .Someone said he was like Jokic. Come on. He’s a 6’ 10” big bodied guy who can’t shoot the 3. He’s far more like Luka Garza at this point (exact same size) than elite big guys.
I respect your takes on this board but I could not disagree with you more. Like Jokic , Queen is not super athletic . He normally plays below the rim. Maryland plays through him and a number of games he was bringing the ball upcourt. Queen is a superb passer with a really high IQ like Jokic. He just has not perfected his 3 point shot. With all your stats tell me how many 20 point games has Queen had compared to your comparables, Jarrett Allen ., Capela etc. as freshman. He is a good defensive player but nothing like those players that are f defensive specialists. Queen has an elite offensive game that none of those guys had especially Adebayo until he was in the league for 3 years.No.
Anyway, at least in college (I rarely pay attention to the NBA), There is no comparison between Garza and Queen ... though in fairness Queen is just a freshman.
Garza was a 2-time 1st team All American, 1X National Player of the Year, who shot 37% from 3 over his career. But even if you look at just his freshman season, he averaged 12 ppg, 7 rpg - yes Queen averages more - 16 ppg, 9 rpg - but Garza was a supporting player, while Queen had to be Maryland's best or 2nd best player - and got the ball more often. But even then Garza shot 35% from 3 (taking 1/3 of his shots from 3), shot 54% from the field overall, 59% eFG% - both distinctly better than Queen. Queen as a frosh averaged 1.9 ***/g to Garza's 1.1 ***/.g, but also turned the ball over a LOT - 2.3/g, vs Garza's 1.1 TO/g. They both had about the same blocked shots per game.
People tend to have a recency bias. Which is fine, just we all should remember that. Queen is the latest "hot" thing.
I would point out that Garza basely plays in the NBA (is he even fully on the roster, or is he G-league who sometimes makes the roster), and averages maybe 5-6 ppg. He does shoot 31% from NBA 3.
It is beyond ridiculous to compare Queen to Jokic - forget about QUALITY, but even in STYLE. Queen's style and skillset bear ZERO resemblance to Jokic's game. Jeez ... where do people come up with this stuff? Jokic was ABVERAGING 5 assist per game by his 2nd year in the NBA, and over 6 ***/g by his 3rd year, and over 7 ***/g every year thereafter (over 10 ***/g this year), and is considered one of, if not THE, best playmakers and setting up teammates players in the NBA. Jokic has never shot worse than 32% from 3 in any NBA season. Queen bears ZERO resemblance to this style. Like LESS than zero if you can say that.
A better comparison is probably Bacot - who has not made the NBA.
Offensively, Queen probably resembles NBA players like Jarret Allen, Adebayo, Myles Turner, Lint Capela ... except ALL those players are exceptional defensive players, often All-Defense teams, Defensive player of the year type post players. Queen has shown NONE of that ability yet. Not saying he can't develop.
It would not shock me if he does NOT make the top10 in the draft - but a strong NCAA tournament might raise his profile to allow such a high draft slot. His type of players are simply NOT what the NBA is looking for, if what I read is true. But I will admit I am no expert in what the NBA is looking for.
His passing is nothing like Jokic, his shooting is nothing like Jokic, and he is nothing like Jokic. He is a very nice college player, who will be a lottery pick, but he is undersized and not that athletic, and will be asked to guard guys like Jokic, Giannis and Joel Embiid, who will all embarrass him.Let me explain it again. Hope this clears it up for you.
Jokic is not athletic . But he plays with elite IQ. Queen has some of those qualities. Almost every commentator says he doesn’t play like a freshman but like a seasoned veteran. His passing is nothing like Jokic, his shooting is nothing like Jokic, and he is nothing like Jokic. He is a very nice college player, who will be a lottery pick, but he is undersized and not that athletic, and will be asked to guard guys like Jokic, Giannis and Joel Embiid, who will all embarrass him.
A lot of people working for pro franchises who can't do that either.Queen is a great college player but we have a lot of fans who can’t properly project a player into the pros.
They also have better coachesMaryland and Michigan have top tier talent at every starting position.
