VT still throws me off. Their QB did get better as the season went on but even when he was playing well- did they really beat anyone with a pulse?Right behind Wisconsin at #40.

We shall find out. Their first 3 games are against Vanderbilt, Marshall and Old Dominion. May not know that much from those three games, but neither will we know much about Rutgers, unless VT or Rutgers has a difficult time with one of their early opponents.VT still throws me off. Their QB did get better as the season went on but even when he was playing well- did they really beat anyone with a pulse?

Was glancing at a Big Ten Podcast this morning, can't find the link, but they made a similar comment about not understanding all the hype about VT. We shall see. Tough environment.Completely agree. I covered that in my response in this thread:
VTech looks at us (page 2)
I really think the schedule sets up to give us a good chance to beat them as I covered in this thread for 1.5 months ago: Setting up for the Virginia Tech (VT) game
Tough environment.
Legit chance to finish in the top 15 or 20 with some solid quarterback play
I was gonna say top 10, but I don’t wanna sound like Al !!Top 15/20? Pessimist!
Akron #128.They rank Minnesota way down at #61. Michigan State at #70. Akron at #128.
Just a rough rule of thumb-usually the rankings below the top 10-15, in the 16 to 60 or 70 range are difficult to predict.Based purely on this ranking list, Rutgers gets 7 wins, ie 7 teams we play have a lower ranking than us. But we all know about these pre season ranking lists. They aren't all that accurate.
Preseason polls always have a certain amount of reversion to historical mean.VT still throws me off. Their QB did get better as the season went on but even when he was playing well- did they really beat anyone with a pulse?
Where did you learn the term reversion ? Seems like an uncommon synonym of regression.Preseason polls always have a certain amount of reversion to historical mean.
