I still wonder how other teams manage to get QB’s who throw accurate passes most of the time. IMO the have him in the mindset to not turn it over. Maybe just go back to the wildknight.

How does he throw that interception when a guy is wide open down the field.
Wow, you actually thought that guy was open? Both were double covered because we had to keep 7 blockers in to protect against 4 rushers. I’m not even counting the 3 LBs playing zone underneath. That’s 7 defenders in the secondary against 3 receivers.

So true.
But in fairness, the receivers are mediocre at best.

The guy at the 3:49 second mark upper right corner is not open? #20 something

No, they broke the play down after commercial. The guy who made the pick had him over the top. He came off of him to make the pick.no one was open.

ETA someone ran the wrong route. I don’t know how you run a two man rout and they both end up in the same spot.

i have been trying to give Gavin time to develop some kind of passing efficiency all season. But, it appears that he is just not a natural passer and playing the better teams in the conference have pretty much showed he is in over his head if a critical pass is necessary.
Meanwhile, I watched the Indiana/Illinois game and could not believe the Ilini QB throwing for what might take anyone else most a season to compile in passing yards. Then, the Iowa guy turns into a passing guru against what I though was a pretty decent pass defense. Stunning game to say the least.
Cannot see us doing much against PSU when their fan base will duplicate what the Iowa fans did with noise.
Our one dimensional offense has run its course it would seem.

No RPO? No runs? No Qb draws? No roll outs? Worst completion rate in college football?
We have a problem.

For the hundredth time, we don’t do RPO. GW doesn’t make reads. Those plays are predetermined.

He is what he is at this point. Hes not the only reason we lost but he’s not able to put the team on his shoulders and keep us in games.

As far as I can see, the run game is heavily impacted by the match up at LT. Pierce was awesome in the wins and even the OSU game. For whatever reason - the match up wasn’t as good for us vs. Iowa and Wisconsin so we didn’t have as much success on the ground. Then Kyle got hurt to boot. When we can’t run effectively, our chance of winning isn’t going to be very good because we don’t have a strong passing game. It’s that simple.

OK, once.
I don’t know why just once. Maybe a schematic reason. Does it matter ? Point is, and I wish I could find/copy/paste my prior post about this…but simply put, our scheme doesn’t match our talent when facing good teams. We can’t match the bigger, faster, stronger better teams in our league by playing this style of football. We need to be imaginative. Be unconventional. Adjust what we do. What works against Indiana won’t work against the top of the conference. Take chances. Sure, we don’t have a roster full of 4 and 5 star players but we have absolutely no chance to compete by playing conservative football. Yet our game plan is only to lose by as few points as possible rather than trying to win. If GW throws 3 deep ball ints so what. At least we tried. The small ball offense you see is an offense that isn’t allowed to try and not allowed a chance to win. Same goes for special teams. Why never a punt return. Never. We’re down big and still a fair catch every time. Don’t people realize we’re not going to attract top skill players since opportunities are so restricted ?
