Rutgers just lost to a 4 seed and a 6 seed on the road, the first by 6, the 2nd by 9 after allowing a 19-0 run but leading for 25 minutes.

The schedule is extremely favorable down the stretch. None of the 6 opponents are as good as the 2 RU just faced.

I think we need to consider. Let us see how it goes vs Nebby

there were over half dozen bubble schools who lost today, some to non tourney teams. Breath Rutgers fans breath

I’d buy that.

Feel like it could be the combination of Mag going down coupled with what would have been a really tough two game stretch regardless may just be making things feel a bit more dire than they are.

Nebraska game is huge. The difference between 9-6 and 8-7 is much larger mentally than just one game. Win that one to get back the MOJO and let's see what happens at Wisconsin.

I am good. 12-8/20-11 is still a reasonable expectation the rest of the way. Not going to be easy but hopefully the program is ready for the final regular season push. Will be nice to have a game at JMA this week.

Not that any B1G games are easy, but we do have the easiest remaining schedule of the teams we are bunched up with. With everyone playing each other, 4-2 (12-8) is certainly achievable and should get us a double-bye in B1G tourney. 3-3 (11-9) and we will undoubtedly be tied with others with tiebreakers to decide tourney seeding.

If Cliff doesn't take that silly 3rd foul totally different game in my opinion. I am an optimist and believe the next 6 we right the ship and get used to play without Mag
Bac hates this but whatever.

Was that really a legit third foul?
I didn’t rewatch but I trust freaking Larry Scirotto (OSU blown call ref, 2nd Iowa game) as far as i can throw him.
It felt like it was cool to elbow Hyatt in the face but Cliff isn’t allowed to pick his own wedgie out his bum.

Couldn't really see Cliff's 3rd. Didn't look like much from what you could see. A turning point IMO.

he fouled in frustration after they took the ball away, do you think it was made up...the two players were there all alone there

Might not have been a foul but didn't need to reach in and even give him a reason to call it. Plus he lost it right before hand. His hands are no good at times.

Yes, the schedule will be easier in the last six games with three at home.Winning , however, probably still requires scoring at least 65 points. The math doesn't reach that number right now.

I didn’t honestly didn’t see anything there.
And based on where they were on the court it looked like it would have had 0 impact on the game if it continued. They should have let them play.

It didn't look like Cliff really did anything there but he shouldn't even put himself in that position. Physical game and it had zero impact on anything. Looked like a play on

They should be ok down stretch, but are far too thin now and not a top level defensive team with no Mag. I expect them to make Tourney and lose in 2nd round. With Mag, I saw them going to Sweet 16 or Elite 8. Also, the possibility for a complete collapse is not off table. With Mag, it was impossible.

The only games we've lost that we shouldn't have are Temple, SHU, and Iowa. We've balanced that out with wins at Purdue and Northwestern and a neutral site (yeah I know) over Michigan State. Are we going to be a 4 seed? No, that was a nice dream. But every single one of us would have signed up for where we're at now on November 1.

Thought experiment: Switch the @ Illinois game with the @ Purdue game and consider what your feelings on this team would be.

Seems like a month without a home game. Sure it wears on the players but that Garden game hasn’t carried over and seems more like a huge detriment. Truth hurts.

Definitely time for a reality check and....sadly....a lowering of expectations for this team.

The schedule is easier based on who we are playing. Pretty much everyone has an equal number of home and away games.

There was nothing. I rewound it a few times. Cliff was standing straight up with his hands pointed up to the ceiling. We benefited from some calls too (like a ball we clearly knocked out) but man, getting that 3rd on Cliff was huge

Paul needs a better matchup for us to win. Last two games. The guards are just too quick and tall for him.

the issue becomes yes the competition is easier but some of these teams may smell some blood in the water. The blueprint to beating RU is pretty much well known now. Our offense did struggle vs Michigan State as well. Need to nip in the bud right away with a strong start vs Nebby...a better first half than they had vs Minny

The teams left on our schedule are Nebraska, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Penn State, and Northwestern. Fairly sure the blueprint is known for all of those as well.

We are who we are. We will grind out more wins and should get our best seed yet in the Pike years for the tournament, and we could win a couple of games in the tournament. But we are a poor offensive team, and our while defense is very difficult for teams that struggle like us on offense, it is also somewhat “gimmicky” and teams that pass well and shoot well can beat us pretty easily, by waiting for us to overplay the ball and hitting open players for 3 point shots or cuts to the basket.

That call didn’t change the outcome of the game. Take the L and move on.
We had scored in the minute before that call and were up by three.
Call was made and Cliff came out while we went scoreless for the next 9 minutes.

Yea Reiber and Wolf need to step up.
Yea Illinois is a really good team and we were on the road.
But that gave them all the momentum and opportunity that they needed.
It affected the game.

Yes. Like Iowa.
