Can people finally STFU about MSG now?

At least you’re not crying about fouls this time 😂
Go **** yourself. Supposed “new guy” who shows up and spends the majority of his posts bitching about others here.
You want to know why all those things were included in today’s game? Because this was a big time frigging game at the famous basketball venue on national tv.
What are you taking about? We need Michigan State cheerleaders because the game is on national TV?

If the B1G eventually evens out the "home" games, I'm fine. If not, I'll be pissed, but as I've been saying, this will still be largely a home game and it was. Way to show up fans.
The 3 yr contract ended with this game - assume they will renew but they may want us there every year.

Even if it works out well for us?
The win is great of course. Here’s my issue. Up until a few days ago, everyone was under the impression this would be counted as a neutral site game for both teams, not a RU home game/MSU away game. Then the NCAA decided to say “no Rutgers, this is a home game for you.” That means today’s win counts as a Q2 win. It would be a Q1 win if the game was classified as a neutral site game.

I don’t mind playing at MSG at all, but it needs to be considered a neutral site game for NET purposes.

Can finally people admit huge mistake. Horrible shooting percentage from field.
Worst foul shooting of year?
MSU got calls we didn’t?
Losing at half?
Double digit win at RAC.
Energy unnecessarily expended.

I love MSG once a year. It's an event. We come out even when they alternate who is giving up the home game and that's fine by me.

The one thing I cannot understand is it being labeled a Home game for us from a metrics perspective. It's complete ******** and needs rectifying.

All that said I had a blast today and we are getting a lot of national attention:

Have confidence for once
We are heading for a single digit NCAA slot

If the game wasn't at the Garden, maybe we don't get a prime slot on Fox. While playing in NYC is not ideal, we did get national exposure and beat a good team at the most famous arena in the world. I am just happy we won and had so many fans there to witness it.

Bubble teams worry about quad wins. RU just showed a national audience that they are a bunch of tough mofo's and that RU nation travels well.

RU was down at the half. Way closer then it needed to be. Never happens at the RAC. Worst foul shooting of year. Really bad shooting percentage. We dodged a huge bullet.

Great, gut-check win and we sounded really loud on TV. That was a home game - maybe not quite the RAC, but felt like home on TV at least. And by the way 22-16 on fouls in our favor (was 18-16 before they started fouling), so was a well-reffed game, too. Paul with the MVP of the game with 16 2nd half points. Huge!

You are persistent. Persistently wrong that is. Shooting % has little to do with the venue - we've shot FTs a bit better at the RAC, but the away sample size is much smaller and we shot worse in 3 other games, so it was bad but not the worst. And we shot 38% from the field vs. 34% at MSU, so we did better "at home."

MSU getting calls? Please, that's a laugh. 23-16 fouls (was 18-16 before they started fouling on purpose) and 34-14 in FT attempts in our favor? Sign me up for that for every game. Losing at the half? So what, we won and that's all that matters, plus we were only down because of terrible play at the end of the first half, which had zero to do with the venue. Doube digit win if we shot FTs better, at MSG or the RAC. And finally energy unnecessarily expended? I'll just lol, rather than comment on that one.

And our NET is not going to be an issue, barring a collapse, which will be infinitesimally affected by whether this was a Q1 or Q2 win. The whole country got to see how tough we are and how loyal our fans are - win/win baby.

It doesn't matter what you prefer. The last few years the knock on RU was they couldn't win away from the RAC/JMA. This is another resume builder away from home the eliminates that perception and provides a significant confidence boost for the team come tournament time.
Word. Loved watching RU rock the Garden from Lake Wisconsin!

We are up at the RAC! Down at half! Foul shooting and shooting percentage from field?

Just ignore as doesn’t fit narrative.

Last two times at RAC win by 20+ and 30 +?

MSU better fouls than RU?

We dodged a bullet

It's tough because I don't like that we lost a home game but the B1G notices we are trending up as a program and gives us a shot on national TV. At some point we needed to come out of our shell and step up on a big stage and we did.

I want to say fine, other B1G teams need to do this other years and maybe they will. Maybe Purdue will need to play us in Indianapolis one year or Maryland has to play Michigan in Washington DC. I get it for TV and it was important for us to be recognized nationally.

By this game being considered a home game, it holds as much weight as a win at the RAC, so unless the committee takes into account “home games that aren’t really home games,” todays win doesn’t do jack **** for the argument we can or can’t win away from the RAC when it comes time to seeding in the NCAA tournament

The difference between a home game and a truly neutral game is like 3 points. In this case probably less. You're being ridiculous.
