They thing is, they were not soft. They leaned they pushed they hacked. RU did to them with 4 guys what PSU does with Pickett. Our guys are just have too much length compared to them. They could not stop it without fouling much harder than they were. They were fouling too.

When he said, “Show some pride” I honestly think he wanted his guys to give some hard fouls under the basket. We just did whatever we wanted in there.

We are leaving a lot of coaches scratching their heads.

Pike also hammers teams now. We used to be happy to win by 5-8 pts but Pike doesn’t let up anymore. PSU had enough with about 3 minutes to go and Pike kept our guys in to push it to 20.

I noticed very early on this season that pike had changed up his substitution patterns throughout games (wasn’t playing a bench beyond the better/proven guys… sorry miller and Oscar) and he only called off the dogs VERY LATE in the game

I think they drill Michigan in their next one. Shrewsbury knows his team and I like him as an HC. They will be very ready for UM.
Mr Shrewsbury should also pay attention to a moron manager / admin guy on their staff who would constantly yell when our guys were shooting free throws. It’s one thing for fans to do but I have never seen a staff person of an opposing team do this. Very unprofessional .

We saw that Temple player get called out by his coach before we played, and that worked for him. We shall see on Sunday. I don't think they will shoot 15.4% from long range.
We really do have a unique defensive problem for PSU if they don't have a 4th or 5th option step up. Caleb makes Pickett work for his. Mag makes Funk have a hard time getting any clean looks. Lundy isn't going to score 25. Where else can they get buckets? Michigan won't be able to replicate what we did.

Saying those things to your guys in the locker room is one thing. Saying them to a camera after that is a whole different ball game.
It's like family. At home you can fight like cats and dogs. But, out in the street you stick up for yours not matter what. Sort out right and wrong when you get home.

I really like Shrewsberry. He will be coaching PSU for a long time. He's a fine coach who needs some time to recruit players to his program. He was brutally honest in his presser--his team did play soft and was destroyed under the boards. .

Eh coaches have different styles. Pike would never do that, and I favor that style, but there are plenty of fire and brimstone coaches who will try to motivate the team with a public tongue lashing. Shaheen Halloway just did it to SHU.
Point of fact, I just sent out an email to the parents of 3rd-4th grade rec basketball team admonishing their children for their lack of hustle on rebounds, their shoddy zone defense, and their pudgy, out of shape wheezing (too many video games!) As for my own son, I made him sleep in the shed because he went 0-4 from the line.
