Scary sight. Seems like it would be something heart related as opposed to a head injury.

From what I saw, the force of the collision was into his upper chest area, not directly to his head. I really hope they were able to get him breathing, very scary scene. Terrible.

Reminds me of what happened to the Danish player in the Euros.. The bills player was involved in a tackle so we have no idea how that might have impacted him.
Yeah I know what you mean. Hamlin was involved in the tackle so we don't know how that may have impacted him. Praying he will be OK

Very sad that it happens to anyone in the prime of their lives.

Could just be one of those widow-maker situations. Flaw was always there.

None of us know when the last day will be.. but we know it is coming.

Scary stuff. Not sure how the players can continue playing after that.

Seems like an awful situation. Can't see them restarting the game unless there is some type of confirmation that he has stabilized.

Crazy... This is reminding me of when I heard the news of Reggie Lewis

1971– Chuck Hughes of the Lions collapsed and died on the field…eerily reminiscent. Hope he’s OK.

Huh??? It obviously was something if he collapsed right after the hit. What other sports have players dropped dead? Wtf are you talking about?
He didn't collapse from the hit. The impact wasn't that hard to him. He bounced right back up and then just passed out while standing.

Was not watching the game so I did not see the hit, but praying for this young man and his family.

Lacrosse. George Boardi Cornell took a shot to the chest and collapsed. Happened a few other times, not always fatal.

It wasn't really a violent collision, but whatever happened to him occurred during the hit or during the fall, or perhaps in the action of standing up.

As far as players dying on the court or the field, it's happened before, just hadn't happened in front of such a national audience. Thomas Herrion of the 49ers after a preseason game just ended, Reggie Lewis during shooting warmup, pretty sure I'm soccer there's been a couple as well.

Yeah it’s like a 1 in 10 million thing if the trauma happens at exactly the right time in between heart beats the trauma can be fatal

A. We don't know what caused him to collapse, but he took a hard hit to the chest and then collapsed right after he stood up. Seems most likely the hit caused the collapse.

B. Bayless said whatever the league decides is irrelevant given the situation. Not being a jerk. The league is in a tough situation, but they just made the obvious correct call to suspend the game until a later date.

Could it be that him standing up was a cause?

Something happened during the hit bit then standing exacerbated it?
Like a clot knocked loose and then travels up/down?

Note - I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Was wondering if it was something like that causing a disruption in the heart rhythm. Very rare, but it has happened in young baseball pitchers that get hit with a line drive to the chest.

I wonder if they will bus the entire Bills team to the hospital. I would want to be with my teammate if that happened to someone I played with.

My uncle died that way, woke up in the middle of the night, got up to walk to the bathroom and collapsed from a massive heart attack. Obviously different than Damar, since he's in peak physical condition while my uncle had had a previous heart attack and used to smoke two packs a day, but the same mechanisms still can occur.

I'm not sure that would be such a good idea. Seems unlikely they get anywhere near Hamlin tonight or in the immediate future. Doctors need to do all they can with minimal distractions.

I saw a tweet they had the ambulance wait at the parking lot end of the tunnel so security could get his mom for the ride. If true I guess that might be good news as you'd never delay someone in a life threatening situation just for getting mom on the ambo. So maybe he's been revived and is conscious.
