Congrats?

It's for Brunson which is probably not going to end well. And it seems had to use one of those picks to dump Kemba along with a bunch of 2nd round picks.
So much Kemba's big homecoming last year.
Are Knicks going to The Process 2.0 or are they gearing up for one of those evil star-chasing massive trades that fans hate?
The future is now! Has been ever since they drafted Patrick. It's for Brunson which is probably not going to end well.
Stocking up on protected late first rounders has little value. Rough night for the Knicks
He's gotten better year after year. I don't know why people think another year couldn't have helped him. I think if he had stayed one more year and kept improving he could have become a first round pick. Especially with the weight he has lost. What would one more year do for him?
If he doesn’t get drafted, he’ll get a G League opportunity, and he’ll have to play his way into the NBA.
It was always going to be this way.
Congrats?

NBA doesn’t draft seasoned vets like that anymore. Most guys are young and then they mold them. He's gotten better year after year. I don't know why people think another year couldn't have helped him. I’ve said this before, but Douby would have been a top 5 pick in todays NBA. Pretty wild.I can't believe Kofi Cockurn didnt get drafted. Goes to show how much the game has changed.
I wonder where Shaq would be drafted, if he had entered draft now as young kid.

And to be honest, Pikes system and RHJs game isn’t really NBA style. He will get his shot.

Bingo.A rough breakdown of the 2022 draft by round and class.
33 of 58 picks were "underclassmen" - 57%
This is why I've said in other threads that Rutgers is moving into a higher level of recruiting with potentially elite underclassmen leaving early. If a Freshman comes in and is All-Big Ten Freshman level then it's going to be likely they at least consider leaving immediately.
Once a player reaches Junior year it's unlikely they get drafted (especially in the 1st round) so they usually stick around for Senior year as well (see RHJ and Caleb).

Total flyers on 8 guys from Europe is just stupidity as few will make a difference. But because they are young and can be molded and compete against professionals GM’s think they are worth a chance over Ron or Scottie Pippen , the best guard in the SEC , or Johnny Juzang , the best wing in the PAC 12 . I say ********. They lose no credibility taking foreign young players that never pan out but are afraid of the heat if a Ron or Pippen or Juzang don’t either. Silly if you ask me.A rough breakdown of the 2022 draft by round and class.

Why? The European game is closer to the NBA game now. It’s all about spacing. Everything those guys are doing in Europe is better than what is happening in college basketball.Total flyers on 8 guys from Europe is just stupidity as few will make a difference. What fact? That you perceive that some European kid age 19-20 can shoot better and play better than Ron and assume Ron will not also shoot better when he is playing professionally everyday ! For every Luka Doncic , I guarantee there are 20 duds from Europe and you can start with the Knicks stating Fredric Weis back a while. The impact these young European have made in today’s NBA is minimal at best . The best European is Nicola Jovic, that slow , unathletic center that runs circles around every player in the NBA. Ron can contribute now. Why? The European game is closer to the NBA game now. It’s all about spacing. Everything those guys are doing in Europe is better than what is happening in college basketball.
It’s actually smarter to take a flyer on those guys vs it is to take a flyer on RHJ.
Look, we all appreciate the winning Pike has brought to RU, but you need to recognize the grit and grind it out play style is totally different from the NBA.
Just as a disclaimer, I’m not complaining, just stating a fact.

No, the fact that European basketball is about spacing and college basketball typically is not. What fact? Okay , let it take 2-3 years for the 19-20 year old European to develop whereas Ron is ready now. The only developing he has to do is get his 3 point shooting to 40% on a consistent basis. He has a great wingspan , can rebound when he wants to , and is very good in transition. His game is NBA ready. No, the fact that European basketball is about spacing and college basketball typically is not.
NBA development has already started in Europe simply because of the style.

I think it is because they don't see those players having a role in the NBA. Might as well take a chance as there is nothing to lose.Total flyers on 8 guys from Europe is just stupidity as few will make a difference. How has the last5 drafts or even 10 drafts done with all their drafting European or international players ? How many have panned out ? I don’t have the time to go chart it but I do not perceive they make much of a difference. Again , Luka but who else has been impactful out of those 19-20 year olds that were drafted these years ? Not recalling any off the top of my head. You might not want to look up any 2023 mock drafts……..
Cliff is definitely getting drafted...Does this finally put an end to all the "draft experts" and their certainty on RHJ getting drafted?
At least until next season when they start again for Clif.
There are a ton of very successful European players in the NBA. These teams live and die based on how they evaluate talent. This isn’t a diss on Ron, the last 15 players taken and the next 20 or so who weren’t drafted are all about the same. Ron will get his shot to make it.Total flyers on 8 guys from Europe is just stupidity as few will make a difference. I agreed with you..However, I did get caught up in the sentiment and ultimately expected he would get drafted. I found myself disappointed Thursday night, but, realistically, it did make sense.Ron’s game is not NBA ready.
I don’t think you realize how different the game is and how big of a jump the game is.
If Ron was NBA ready he would have gotten drafter.
NBA guys are typically elite shooters or elite playmakers nowadays.I agreed with you..However, I did get caught up in the sentiment and ultimately expected he would get drafted. I found myself disappointed Thursday night, but, realistically, it did make sense.
That is my point , the last 15 drafted and the next 20 are not appreciably different. I as a GM would rather go with a finished product like Ron , that can get better with 24/7 pro life , but he can contribute now as compared to some potential that a European player might have down the road in 2-3 years. Again, other than Luka , what other great guards or wings are there? Scottie Pippen and Johnny Zuzang along with Ron can contribute now. They all should have been drafted but doesn’t seem to matter much with this 2 way deal. There are a ton of very successful European players in the NBA. You’re right, these GMs have no clue what they’re doing. And you, a die hard Rutgers fan, knows Ron is NBA ready now. These dumb scouts that actually watched RHJ in workouts comparative to other players are clueless. That is my point , the last 15 drafted and the next 20 are not appreciably different.
