So, u really think they could play 2 games in 1 year? I doubt that.
They played both Seton Hall and DePaul OOC this past season from Big East.

Rutgers won't be in the Gavitt Games this year (uneven teams), but because the ACC has 15 basketball teams and B1G has 14, there is still a highly likely probability Rutgers has another ACC opponent on the slate.

Anyone saying the ACC and B1G will match Rutgers vs WF in 2 games in 1 year is nuts
As dpwhite pointed out, I think rutgersfan1766 misunderstood your point Ohio. I see he liked your latest post, so hopefully we're all on the same page now. While RU is very unlikely to play Wake twice in the same regular season, RU could still get a second ACC game against a different opponent in the Challenge or whatever they call it.

It's rare, but Seton Hall played Iowa State twice in the 19-20 season. That was a little different in that one of the games came in an MTE so it wasn't guaranteed, but the point is playing an OOC opponent twice is possible.

That said, with guaranteed RU-Wake games already on the schedule the next couple years, I'd expect that match-up would try to be avoided in the B1G-ACC challenge.

Love it! Still the same ooc schedule as last year due to no gavitt this year but this is welcomed

If that’s what you mean, yes I agree. It sounded like you were saying “they” wouldn’t play another ACC school in the Big ten ACC challenge. An old boss of mine used to hate when people used Pronouns. He used to always say “who is they?”

Great matchup, sure I’d take another Clemson win but this will do. And a future road trip to a school I’ve never seen.

For this year - the game is great. Add one more decent opponent and the schedule becomes fine. I’d still prefer to get in the flow of scheduling a neutral tourney (rather than ending up with a stacked road schedule every few years) but it’s a relief to hear that we weren’t deliberately targeting SHU and ACC challenge as our only 2 real games.

Yes, add Providence and the ACC challenge and I’m good with that schedule.

It’s a good matchup. Not a crazy exciting or intriguing game but the type of OOC games we should be seeing in the schedule more. Very winnable and Could be helpful when tourney time comes . Or it might not be.

Glad it’s on. Would love to see more neutral site events vs top half G5 programs

Is this part of that scheduling alliance between the Big Ten, Pac 12, and ACC or is that just for football?

Love how the schedule is shaking out. Very curious to see who the high major is that Carino indicated. Tough OOC schedule is more critical for this season especially when Big 10 will be down.

Wake has a nice campus.
I grew up in NC and went to summer basketball camp there as a kid right after Duncan graduated. Must have been like 98 or something, so I was 11 or 12. Loved everything about the campus. Definitely a great place to go to school.

Excellent home and home booked. As RU72 has stated Gonzaga is still in play, which would be great regardless of outcome . The schedule with Seton Hall and ACC challenge plus Wake and 20 Big 10 games is just fine. The only minor Complaint is both a selfish and perception issue as I would prefer a preseason neutral site tourney like almost all the other Big 10 teams play and I would probably attend . The home tourney with the high Net teams will still be attended but those 3 games can be easily replaced with a 2 or 3 game neutral tourney and if we were to win it , the national media are talking about us earlier in the year. So there is upside and little downside and Pike can still experiment with lineups. Playing in neutral site games prepares you better for March Madness. But overall we are in great shape .

Flying 6 hours across the country for a game we're going to lose with no benefit of a return trip is close to the worst game I could imagine scheduling.

Not if the opponent is Gonzaga who will likely be preseason Number 1 or at worst 5 . Plus it is a game every basketball fan in America will watch . Challenging your team is never a bad thing. Totally disagree with your reply.
