Give the Hawkeyes credit for a great second half comeback, but in the grand scheme of things, it's just another loss. And that's how a team can build an 0-20 record. Get blown out now and then, like at Nebraska, play well for a half after getting buried but still lose, like at PSU. I can't look at the schedule and see a single win right now except, maybe, Minnesota. All the evidence indicates Iowa and the Gophers will be battling for last place. Even with Kris appearing to be back in the groove, and despite Rebraca playing his heart out, the talent just isn't there. We had high hopes for Perkins and Sandfort and PMac and Ulis, but the results have been--with a few exceptions--pretty awful. And it doesn't look like there's any other help on the bench, although I'd give Kingsbury a chance, especially when you're getting buried, like in the first half last night.
Anyway, it looks like a long, long, long season from here, one that will end quietly with a Wednesday loss at the Big Ten Tournament.
